Today I had to spend a lot of time at the Library because I found a very interesting book tilted "CARE PACKAGES DANA REEVE'.
Most of you may knew Christopher Reeve, a Hollywood Star was paralyzed in a riding accident on May 1995. I learnt him from my Dad, that he was reading about Christopher Reeve two year ago. Kids in America called him Superman.
After the accident happened, people from all over the world old, young and kids sent him flowers, gifts, drawings and funny story and heart breaking letters to keep him smile on face.
The Care packages Dana Reeve basically is a collections some of the unforgettable letters strangers sent to Reeve's family while he was in difficulty situation.
It is a fascinating book that I didn't want to put down, I finish read few letters and then I saw more beautiful letters, and more and more. I had to finish whole book even though I was thirsty and hungry too.
Here is one letter wrote a 12 years old boy from Vietnam:
Dear, Mr. Reeve,
I am 12 years old. I was born in Vietnam according to my step mother. I have no legs. I don't even know what happened to me. My adopted Parents don't want to tell me. Every time I try to ask my story, my parents tell me that I am too young to know about my story. However, I kind of heard people talking about me that I was an abandoned when I was few months by my biological parents in a dirty trash street on Vietnam. When people found me, my both legs were gone. Either my real parents cut off or my legs were eaten by dogs.
I was fortunate enough somebody over heard that I was crying in trash, took me to hospital and I was survived as a Spider-kid. People called me name Spider or Spider-kid. Some time I wish that I am a Spider so that I can freely go and live in a forest without face bulling and humiliation.
Now, my parents got me in New Zealand, One year ago I came here for treatment. I have never got chance to go to a school because I have no legs. I always dream that I was in school hold pen and paper.
Few months ago, I start go to school in taxi. I am learning read. I go outside with my short crutches and wheel chair. I even played handball with friends one time. I am so excited and happy that I am live in my dream even though I still have long time to go to recover all the wounds on my body.
I love to watch Superman. I pray that you could walk again and be the superhero for all the kids love you.
Do you think I could see you if one day I come to America? I KNOW I WANT SEE YOU.
Your best friend
