Today I am going to tell you you about the world's best magician called The Great Houdini but his real name is Harry Houdini. Every summer Harry would watch the circus. He loved all the magicians and acrobatics that were in the circus. Since he loved the circus so much he made a trapeze out of a broomstick and two ropes. His brother Theo would always help him with his magic tricks .Harry was born in Budapest Hungary 1874. Soon his whole family moved to America but his father turned into a rabbi since he couldn't make enough money to support his family. Harry always did what he could to help and even skipped school to be a shoe polisher. Harry also worked as a locksmith and since he worked in the store he could unlock any lock.
Harry was so fascinated with magic that he started doing magic tricks of his own. Theo helped Harry whenever he needed help and soon they both were very famous when one time both of them changed to the other person. Soon Harry married a woman named Bess who was also a magician.Both of them made great success together.
Harry and Bess both struggled for years trying to find a job until finally the Welsh brothers gave them a 6 month contract. Soon Harry started to do handcuff tricks so that it would give more excitement to the crowd but instead it did the exact opposite. People didn't enjoy it since their were many other people doing it already so instead Harry decided to spice things up.He chained himself into a box instead sos it would be much harder.
The Houdini's then went to London where they wanted tok find jobs. They went o every theater they could find until finally he found one. Soon the stunts that Harry did turned more complex.he even tried to dump underwater chained and break free.He did the impossible one again!
Harry then arrived back to New York in order to build a house and get his fame. He was a very big star now. But Harry didn't just want to be a magician he wanted to be the best magician.At this time he wanted to bring back some magic so he brought in a 10,000 pound elephant and made it invisible. It was his most famous stunt ever.
Soon a student heard that Harry could take any punch in the world so dashed into his dressing room and punched Harry several times. Harry wasn't prepared though so he took a beating. Soon he died in the hospital right on Halloween.The Great Houdini.
