One day there were 3 farmers.Each farmer owned their own farm with servants and land. Each one was a very bad man. One was named Boggis, another was named Bean, and the last was named Bunce. Boggs was a chicken farmer who was also tremendously fat. The reason for this was because he ate 3 boiled chickens with dumplings on the side every morning. Bean was a turkey and apple farmer. He was very slim because he barely had any meat inside of him. Everyday he would drink 2 to 4 gallons of apple cider. Finally Bunce, Bunce was the shortest one. He was a duck and geese farmer and the size of a dwarf.
On that same day something ongoing happened. Above the valley and into the woods there was a huge tree and inside that tree there was a hole. Living in that hole were Mr. Fox and Mrs. Fox along with their 4 children. Everyday Mr. Fox would ask Mrs. Fox what they would have for dinner that day and each day Mrs. Fox would tell him what she wanted. Then Mr. Fox would quietly creep down the valley into the 3 farms of Boggis. Bean. and Bunce and steal whatever Mrs. Fox asked for. The three farmers were aware of what was happening and took action. They decided to go to Mr. Fox's hole in the huge tree and blast him with a shotgun when he came out.
That day Mr. Fox didn't know what he was getting himself into. Mrs. Fox asked for two ducks. One for her and one for the kids. She reminded Mr.Fox that the three farmers were waiting for him but Mr. Fox didn't even mind. He told Mrs. Fox that with his keen smell and skilled observation he would know where the are and when the perfect time was to steal what she wanted. So Mr. Fox slowly went outside and could see the beautiful blue sky. When he went out he saw 6 barrels with each of them having two pointing at him and with that he ran back into the hole. BOOM! The loud noise of the guns woke everyone in the valley and the animals in the woods. When Fox came back in his family members looked at him in astonishment. Mr. Fox's tail was gone! Back outside Bunce leaned to the ground and grabbed something. When he picked it up and held it in the air. Boggis turned on his flashlight. They saw what was the tail of the fox. The farmers were upset and knew the shot too late. They decided to dig out the fox's home and kill him with the shotgun.
Back in the the hole Mrs. Fox was checking to see how damaged Mr. Fox's tail was. Since it was gone Mr. Fox felt so sad and told his family it will never grow back. All his family members doubted that and said it was going to soon enough. Soon the whole family was asleep except for Mr. Fox. While he was thinking in his mind he heard a noise from the ground above them. "There Digging!"
Mrs. Fox and the kids and Mr. Fox knew that they were the best diggers in the world and that if they kept on digging they would catch up to them and so the family kept on digging and digging until finally the three farmers gave up on this plan. They decided to keep on digging except with a better type of machinery. Bean and Bunce went back to the farm to get it while Boggis stayed near the hole with a shotgun. When they came back Bean and Bunce had tractors with mechanical shovels on them. When the fox was alarmed he told everyone in his family to keep on digging.
Now there was a desperate breakthrough. The family of foxes dug like they never dug before. The tractors dug through the ground faster then ever before but still weren't fast enough. By the end when they took a break all the people in the valley laughed at them telling them to give up.
At 6:00 they took another break. Bean and Bunce switched off their tractors. They were very hungry and decided to call their servants and bring tents and sleeping bags and food. They said they would never let go. Then they came up with two plans. One plan was that Bean should go downtime hole and catch the fox and bring him back up but Bean said no. The other plan was that now that the fox can't go to the farm to get food. He will be starved and sooner and later he will desperately come up and they will kill.
That night the three tents and sleeping bags were set with the food. The farmers were trying to lure Mr. Fox outside with the smell of their delicious food. Back down the little foxes were starving and finally Mr. Fox had a plan but he needed to act fast. He decided that they could dig with all their might to the three farmer's farms and then get all the food they need to hold a gigantic feast with all the food they have. Did you know what? Mr. Fox's plan actually worked. Mrs. Fox was not starving anymore and also the people were having a good time talking and playing.
