For today's post I'm going to talk about what I did today, so far. Its only 8:25 A.M right now while I'm typing this so don't expect too much. 50% of this is going to be about a book I read today. Anyway lets get started. When I woke up my sister wasn't in her bed and the time was 7:00 A.M. Thats when I went to my parents's bedroom and my dad and sister were talking to each other and laughing. You know, as a kid I had to be jealous because one kid shouldn't just go off and have fun with the parents while the other never knew anything was happening. So I joined in the conversation until I went downstairs.
I went downstairs because my dad just went to sleep. WhenI reached the kitchen the first thing I did was head to the bathroom and start brushing my teeth. Then I did my hair as usual, after that my sister started brushing her teeth as well. She doesn't like the both of us brushing our teeth together because she fears I might spit on her by accident or something like that. When she finished we started talking about what we were going to do today and then started our homework. The earlier we do it, the more time we have later to do whatever we want.
For homework I always start reading first, so the book I read was called "Red Star Over Tibet". I've mentioned this book before, but didn't explain what it was about and the author, so thats exactly what I'm going to do today. I already read 16 chapters in total, but I'm going to only talk about the chapter I read today. Basically this book is about how Tibet (my country) was taken over by China. Thats why the title is called "Red Star Over Tibet". China's flag has star in it and red is it's main color. The book goes through the life of a family who experienced all of China's revolt and everything else.
On the chapter I read today it talks about how the family has just reached India. Before they escaped from Tibet in search of life in which they could make their decisions and pray for whoever they wish in India. However India wasn't exactly how they had hoped it would be. When they first even tried to get inside one of the Indian guards told them he wanted money. Like seriously who would do that? The first thing they did when they reached India was get news form an old man, a representative of the Sakya Lama (Spiritual leader). He said that the Sakya Lama told him tot ell us that Tibet would soon be free and back to the way it was.
That news got everyone in the family excited. Then two Tibetans who came from a city in India told them that their was work in the city. He told them with the money given as payment they could buy whatever they wanted to bring back home to Tibet once it was free again from Chinese rule. That everyone happy as well and they all headed straight for it. While the Tibetans and the family were doing their work the summer started and everyone got uncomfortable. The Tibetans were used to the cold climate of the mountains. Thats why they headed to a city in India that was colder yes for people who were rich and one of the kids got an education there.
