Today was picture day and I wasn't very happy. What I mean is that I wasn't happy but afterwards I knew that nothing bad happened at all. Anyways, today was also the first day that the middle schoolers were supposed to where the new uniform. I actually mean the Winter Uniform. One of my friends tied my tie for me during the morning so I was pretty much set for the day, no one complained about me wearing a non-school sweater since it was Navy Blue, although while taking the pictures my homeroom teacher asked me to take it off. She literally threw it on the ground while we were taking the class pictures but I knew it wasn't on purpose, she was just rushing to get in the picture before the cameraman started getting man. You see, the guy who was taking the photos was really tired because he had been telling students all day where to stand and pose. His voice wasn't exactly in the best shape.
ELA wasn't a drag after all because I took two tests and got a 92 and 96. I felt super bad for one of my friends (who I knew was definitely better than me at Math but not ELA) because he got in the 70s for both exams. Almost no one got above a 92 on the first exam so that really made me happy, and the second one was definitely easy. Yet, when I reviewed the test with him, he chose answers that at first seemed impossible but then gave a good reason as to why he chose them. And he even told me that he read the text as well so that got me really confused. But it was okay because after ELA we had Math and I had a pretty tough time with everything. I'm actually considering switching classes because my Math grade isn't good at all. My Math teacher gave a whole speech yesterday saying that he would hate to fail a student who he knows has good worth ethics just because they were taking a higher level course that wasn't easy to them.
Because we were in the advanced class last and this year we skipped 8th grade. My teacher from last year was supposed to get us at least past the first 8th grade workbook but we never made it. So you can imagine how tough it must be on me to have the skip a whole level of math and jump into high school courses. Now obviously, I'm not saying that if I just study and pay more attention I won't pass because that's not true. But at the rate that I'm going right now I don't know if bringing my grade up enough to at least past an 80 is going to be easy. We have a big test on Tuesday and my teacher said that if you don't get above at least a 70 he's going to have to call your parents and suggest transfering you over to an easier class. I wouldn't mind that but I don't know if my father would be up for it, he's also not only going to suggest this with the parents but Ms. Daileon as well (the dean of students). Anyway, if I do good on this test he'll have no problems letting me stay, but if I don't then he's gonna have to call parents and see if their willing to change their student over to the 8th grade curriculum instead of Algebra 1. My math teacher told each of us from the bottom of his heart that if anyone of us failed and had to restart 8th grade in the advanced class because of Math he wouldn't be able to sleep knowing that he let s student fail a course that they weren't going to pass, even if he already knew that the student wasn't going to do good.
