The Night of The Living Dummy

One day two sisters named Kris and Lindy. They were twins and more than any regular twins. The two sisters shared everything and were almost always doing the same thing. Sometimes they were nice to each other while other times they aren't.

That day the two kids were walking down the street when they saw a construction site. Their was a house in progress . The kids found out that no workers were in the construction site and the house was free to get into to. Linda decided that they should go in and take a look to see what the house was  like from the inside. Kris replied with a yes.

They headed off toward the front door which was actually just a piece of paper for now. They lifted the paper and walked inside the house. Their they saw a bunch of materials and the floor was covered with hardwood. Linda saw a large garbage dumpster. She thought their might be some stuff to keep so they looked. Kris was shocked when she and her sister saw something. It looked like a boy's face in style. Then she realized it was a dummy. Not just a regular dummy. It was a ventriloquist's dummy. One that all comedy puppet masters use.

Linda was always good with puppets because she used to have lifeless marionettes when she was little and would always play with them. Kris said that she was good too but that made Lindy laugh. Linda said that Kris would always try to do what she did and never could.

When the twins arrived home Lindy showed her parents the dummy. Linda named her Slappy as a joke when they were going home. The reason she called the dummy Slappy was because she made a joke saying to Kris " I call him Slappy because if you call him a dummy he'll slap your face off of you". That was not very funny to Kris even though she made a sad giggle.

Later that night Lindy decided to practice the dummy in action. Kris had to admit that Lindy was pretty good at it. When it reached midnight the kids went to bed but Kris had a nightmare. She felt as if someone or something was chasing her and that she was running away from it. She was still trying to figure out what it meant when the alarm clock ringed.

It was morning again and the two kids went rushing downstairs and ate breakfast. Then they headed toward school. Linda was turning popular with Slappy while Kris barely had any friends. The whole day was a stress and Kris tried not to think about. She was obviously jealous and so Lindy took notice. That night Kris told her dad if she could have dummy just like Lindy and he said it might be too expensive. Instead mom and dad told Lindy to share the dummy with Kris. Linda said that Kris was a copycat and that she should have her own original ideas.
