Hi everyone, Merry Christmas! The reason I didn’t post yesterday was because my dad said I didn’t have to do any homework. However today I finished the book, “The Last Kids on Earth” and thats one of the things I’ll talk about. After finishing the book I’ll talk about what I did on Christmas. Before I start I also want to say that I finished reading “Galactic Hot Dogs”. Remember when I said that “The Last Kids on Earth” was created from the same author as “Galactic Hot Dogs” while now I finished both of them. Good relief. Okay lets get started.
Last time I talked about “The Last Kids on Earth” I stoped when Dirk and Jack headed back to the tree house. Now lets continue from there. When Dirk and Jack headed back to the tree house Quint became friends with Dirk. If you don’t remember, before the mutant zombie apocalypse Dirk was the bully of the school and treated Jack and Quint like trash. Jack has already been Jack’s friend since they arrived at Home Depot. Now it was Quint’s turn to be friends. Then the three of them played Ping Pong.
The next day Quint said the tree house had to be more heavily armed and that meant more space. So he moved all his stuff into the house’s garage that was closest. Which by the way was the family’s house that Jack had lived before the apocalypse. Quint required Dirk to surround the tree house with a moat. That meant digging up holes all around the tree house and then wait for the rain to fill up the moat. After the rain Jack, Quint, and Dirk had fun together and swam. Jai was the worst when they played catch either because Dirk threw the ball weirdly or Jack just had no known talent at all.
Finally it was time for Jack to go rescue his high school crush. You see Jack knew this girl named June back in school and hopes she is still alive. He calls her “A Damsel in Distress”. Turns out she wasn’t because when Jack got to the school with Dirk and Quint she helped them escape from a ball of zombies. Then Jack worked his magic as June decided to come with them back to their tree house. For the rest of the night Jack, Dirk, Quint, and June slept for the rest of night in one of the classrooms.
However they all woke up to he sound of a creature roaring his heart out. Unfortunately there was a ton of zombies outside the school and an even more terrible mutant awaiting them,“Blarg”! He was back and ready to rumble! Then Quint realized something about Blarg. He had poor eyesight. He figured that out when Jack showed him the picture he took when fighting Blarg in the first chapter. They had to go during the night or else Blarg would eat them during the day.
Thats why the four of them headed in the school’s supply room and saw a bunch of gear they could use. So all of them grabbed as many things as they needed and headed outside. They only got 7 feet from the school until the zombies picked up their scent. Now it was day time and Blarg arrived at the school. He looked ready for revenge because Jack stabbed his forehead with a baseball bat. This time Jack really was the hero because he distracted the Blarg by running away from it. That gave the other guys enough time to run.
It was a really good time for Jack to be distracting the Blarg because he grabbed the bottle Quint gave him and threw it directly at the Blarg’s head. It had so much acid inside of it that the Blarg mutated even further! It turned into “Acid Blarg!!!”. Now Jack was really scared he no choice but to run again. Suddenly Jack’s pet grabbed Jack and took him back to the tree house. It was Rover! Jack’s pet and companion. Rover was a friendly monster that looked nothing like a zombie. More a mutant.
By the time they got to the tree house Quint, Dirk, and June were already getting ready to fight Acid Blarg. The catapults were all loaded up and the moat was filled to the brim. Thats when Acid Blarg arrived. The catapult launched a bunch of junk at the Acid Blarg, but only made it angrier. So Quint threw a potion at the Blarg that would make him fall. It combined with the moat for a combo. Then Dirk grabbed a cannon and shot footballs and razor blades at the creature. June reloaded the cannons and shot it again. Everyone was helping and now it was time for Jack. He grabbed his baseball bat and stabbed the Acid Blarg’s head in the same spot he did last time eventually killing the mutant! Hooray! End of story.
