Stories

For today’s post I’ll talk about some of the things I received or did during this week.
One of the things I had gotten from my math teacher yesterday was a certificate (award) for being the one of the three kids in my class to get 100% on the benchmark test. To me that really means a lot because if you don’t know, I try really hard to focus and write notes during math class. One very important person in my life is my father. He doesn’t believe that I try hard in math class or thinks I don’t try hard enough. This is the proof to him that my mind has grown and I have reached a certain level of academics that should “wow!” him.

Another thing that has happened during the course of this week was the fact that I had gotten a 93% on my science test. That same number is also my science average. The topic that all 6th grade classes have been given for science is “life”. Some lessons that go into that are about the ecosystem and the way energy and matter is passed down from organism to organism. My favorite two mini topics in science are Food chains and food webs. The reason why is because its so organized. A food chain shows how energy is passed through organisms and food web is basically lots of different food chains interconnected to create a food web.

One last thing that has happened to me this week is reading. Now that may not seem as important or interesting as the other two things I did during this week, but its a lot of fun. At least from my view. Reading helps kids develop their brains and learn new vocabulary. Even if you have already read a book once read it again to get a better idea and perspective of what the author is trying to say. I know some books may not have a lesson at all, but they sure are interesting and can inspire you to do whatever you want.

Thats why I’m going to write a story today that was inspired by some of my favorite books.

The Illegal Immigrants

One day a family from New England was fishing by a lake. This family wasn’t as big as a usual family. A father, and two kids. The father was named Bosh and the two daughters were called Chloe and Elisha. It was a nice family. The mother had just died and the father was having a hard time supporting the family. He was a mailman and didn’t get paid as much as he hoped for. Chloe was 18 years old and Elisha was only 10. However Chloe and Elisha didn’t just stand there while their dad worked as much as he could. The two of them helped by working at a local restaurant. Chloe would be a waitress and Elisha would clean the tables.

At the lake Chloe was gathering bait from dead fish and Elisha helped her dad get the boat ready. It was at times like these where they had nothing and had to find food. Soon as the boat was finished the three of them got on and paddled to the middle of the lake. Suddenly Chloe saw a giant fish jump from the lake and land ashore. Without telling Bosh or Elisha she swam to shore and got ahold of the fish. When Chloe got back on the boat she showed the two of them what she had found. The fish was so big that they could eat it for at least 3 days. Thats why tonight they had a feast.

While feasting on the giant fish Bosh told Chloe and Elisha that they could save up their money since their was no need to buy food for 3 days. Chloe and Elisha were so happy they could actually save money for an extra two days instead of using it as soon as they got off from work. The next day while Bosh was mailing papers to houses one of the letters fell from his bag and was teared open. Inside of the mail was a paper that showed a picture of a flag. It wasn’t the New England flag so Bosh was curious enough to open the rest. It was the American flag of the United States! Suddenly Bosh had a very crazy idea.

When he came home Chloe and Elisha were curious as to why he had a smile on his face. So he told them his plan. “Are you sure you want to go to the U.S.A? Its not like its going to be easy.”, said Chloe. “It’ll be fine, all we have to do is keep on finding fish and saving up our money, then we’ll have enough for sure to go to the United States!”, said Bosh and with that confident remark the whole family went to sleep. As the weeks past by and the days get longer Bosh’s confidence led him to enough money for the whole family. Chloe and Elisha were packing up and getting ready to go as well as Bosh. They took a cab all the way to the airport.

When the family arrived at the airport they patiently waited for the line to grow thinner. Right before Bosh and his daughters were getting on the airplane they realized in order to get in they had to have a passport and the three of them weren’t asked for their passports because the people didn’t see them. The plane was leaving in three minutes and Bosh didn’t know what to do. Then he had an idea. An idea he would regret for the rest of his life. “Chloe, take Elisha inside the plane and stay there. I can’t go inside the plane because Its illegal, but for you still have long way to go before you grow old and I think you should live in America. I’ll always remember you and love you!”, said Bosh. “No we can’t leave you! Your our father!” said Chloe. “Then listen to me and get on that plane! I’ll come to America too.”. With that last remark Chloe grabbed Elisha and they headed inside the plane. Chloe and Elisha were now illegal immigrants.
