By the time I am typing this it is only 9:32 A.M. That is why I can't really talk about my day. That is why instead I am going to be talking about the news. I remember last week during Spanish class at my school my teacher wanted to talk about the news and see if anyone knew some important events that are happening right now. About 3 kids immediately raised their hands. When my teacher called on of the girls who raised her hand she talked about something called the "Las Vegas Shooting". I didn't know what she was talking about since I never really watch news. That is why when I got home I typed "Las Vegas Shooting" on my computer and saw what she meant.
Apparently a man (who I still haven't been able to find the name yet) had purposely picked a hotel room that was looking right at the music festival that was happening. In the room were 23 weapons all belonging to the gunman. Inside of his home and car contained thousands of rounds of ammunition for all 23 weapons and an ingredient that was used for explosives. Okay I just found out the man's name, "Stephen Paddock" was the name of the man who took responsibilty for a mass murder. He set up cameras all around the outside of his room (hallway) and in his room. Many people think he used the cameras to see if anyone was approaching his room.
All in all 58 people were counted death in this incident, officers still don't know how "Stephen Paddock" who was a retired accountant turned inte history's most deadliets mass murderer. However 500 people were also injured from the shots. Police believe that Stephen was alone which makes the reason he did this a lot harder to find. After reading more about what happened I also found out that during the shooting there was a man who was going to propose to his wife. However the Las Vegas Shooting killed him and he was devastated. I am very sorry for that man, just imagine the person you love most just die right in front of you? That is awful.
I also want to talk about my Social Studies class that I had yesterday. Last week when I was in school I ahd a really fun Social Studies. I was sitting down when my teacher told me to take off my sweater. I knew he was joking because he was laughing so I galdly took it off. Then he started talking about Colombus and how he didn't actually find America. Later on he was talking about stereotypes and how that means "A widely held but fixed and oversimplified image image or idea of a particular type of person or think". He was talking about how most men thought that Laatina women were only good for one thing, making babies. As soon as he said that every latina girl in my class agreed that most people thought that.
I could picture it but din't want to say anything. Then I asked what some Asian Sterotypes are and he answered me. He literally said this, "For example, one Asian sterotype is that Asians are bad drivers.". When he said this everyone in my class was confused. That is when he suddenly said "because they supposedly have small eyes". As soon as he said that everyone in my class started laughing. It wasn't toawrds me and my asian friends, but more so just at the joke. Then my Asian friend made a joke saying that all Asians were born with no eyes. That is why our eyes were so "small". Anyway that is it for my post, see you later.
