Today I'm going to continue the summary for "Trials of Apollo". Yesterday I left off at the part where he meets his children. You may not understand what I mean by that so let me explain. Apollo has been around for over 4,000 years. He's had many wives and helped give birth to even more children. However, the children he's meeting during that lunch period are only 15 and 16. While they are still young, Apollo is immortal, or at least was. Ever since Zeus has given him punishment for something he didn't do, Apollo has become a full mortal (he doesn't want to believe) and could die at any moment. His children could cut him down and kill him if they wanted to, but they don't. What I'm trying to say is that Apollo has had children from the 1800s but never knew anything about them until after they died.
With that out of the way, after lunch, all demi-gods (including Apollo and Meg) head towards the auditorium. That is when Chiron makes a speech, apparently, there is going to be some type of competition involving the "Labyrinth". If you don't know what that means let me explain. Daedalus was an inventor captured by King Minos (Greek Mythology) and was forced to make a labyrinth or maze. The reason for this was because King Mino's wife had given birth to a half human half minotaur. The king was afraid of the creature or just ashamed so he was going to trap it inside of the maze. Eventually, a knight was able to enter the maze and kill the son himself. Back to the book, Chiron states that the demi-gods were going to have a "Three Legged Race".
After the announcement, everyone went into their cabins and started getting ready for the competition. The next day, Apollo and Meg woke up and headed to the field. There, most of the demi-gods were already getting ready. Some were very worried about dying because. Oh wait, I forgot to talk about that. This "Labyrinth" is full of deadly traps that could instantly kill you. That was why some of the kids were even planning on creating secret alliances. The objective (to win) was to grab three golden apples and come back to the field when you were completed. People starting forming their pairs and looking to see which direction they were heading. Meg decided to pair up with Apollo since it only felt right. Once Chiron said go everyone entered random doors!
This maze could take you from "Camp Half-Blood" to China and back! While trying to reach their final apple Apollo and Meg heard noises. Two people were talking right above them! They were saying stuff about the Oracles and how they could lead Apollo right into their trap. This worried Apollo himself because he heard his name and it wasn't for a good reason. So after retrieving their final apple, the two headed back into the field. Chiron ran towards them and exclaimed how happy he was to see they weren't injured. However, there was still one pair left that hadn't come back. Everyone was confused and worried about the two demi-gods. Apollo met with Chiron inside the head cabin and they spoke about what had happened. Now Apollo has made a decision to find all the oracles and save the world from a terrible fate, but no without his trusty demi-god friend Meg.
Google News
I just watched two videos on North Korea related subjects. The first one was about how North Korea said they finished their nuclear program. They also said they wish to have good relationships with their southern side. The last thing they mention is how America can not touch them because of their advanced nuclear program. I wonder why the change of the subject. Before it was just Donald Trump but now its America and South Korea. The other story is about North Korean fishing boats are being found on Japenese shores. One Japenese fisherman says that he thinks Kim Jong Un is forcing the fisherman to go out and find food for the country. This is why he needs to build a better relationship with other countries. So that they can help North Korea out. Anyway, that is all for today.
