Today's post is going to be about a book called, "Nevermore: The Trials of Morrigan Crow". When I saw the name Nevermoor I thought it was something bad and evil, and of course, it was. My reason behind this is because in a poem made by "Edgar Allen Poe" called, "The Raven" there is a "raven" that constantly annoys the narrator by saying "Nevermore". Then, the protagonist calls the raven a foul beast created by Satan. Besides, in one of the games, I play there is a skin called, "Nevermore" that resembles a raven. The words "black" and "raven" usually mean something creepy, at least to me. Anyway, the author of this book is "Jessica Townsend" and she had been a copywriter for 8 years. Then, moved on to become a magazine writer, this is her first ever novel and I would say she did a pretty good job.

This book is about a girl named "Morrigan Crow" that lives in a place called, "Crow Manor". Her father is a man named, "Corvus Crow" and a high official for the government. Everyone in the town thinks of her as a curse because she was born on Eventide (a day when all cursed children die at the age 11). No one in the family likes her, the only person that shows a bit of affection is her grandmother. One day, Corvus needed to go to the Town Hall and be a part of the "Bid Day". This is a day when children from the state are chosen to be a part of certain companies or other professional workers. Because Morrigan Crow's birthday was next week she wanted to go to the town hall and witness the bids. Corvus denied it completely but one of his assistants said it would be good for the newspaper.

On the day of the bids, Morrigan Crow took her seat next to Corvus and then heard the Mayor of "Crow Manor" call out the bids. After a while, Morrigan got bored because she thought it would be more interesting. However, her name was called and she got really nervous. Would Corvus allow her to get the latter containing the bid? Morrigan didn't wait to find out, she quickly walked to the Mayor and got her envelope. Then, her name was called three more times and the audience got furious. Not ever had someone gotten 4 bids on Bid Day! It was very bad and everyone got mad. They said stuff like 4 is out of proportion, especially for a cursed child. Morrigan walked to the waiting rooms for her patrons. They would be the ones to ask if she would join them.

Soon enough, she met one of her patrons. They started talking but then Corvus barged into the room. He said that all the bids were fake and that he was going to be insulted. When Morrigan said that one of the patrons was with her she turned around, unfortunately, the man disappeared completely. Back at home, the clock tower started ringing and Eventide was coming earlier than usual. Morrigan got very scared but remained still. She had received a letter from another one of her patrons but knew it wouldn't matter because she'd be dead. However, that didn't stop her from signing it. Suddenly, a man named, "Jupiter" came and took her to the windowsill. He explained that she wasn't going to die tonight, not as long as he was with her.

For more the story you should read the book yourself, it's really great and I like it. I thought it'd be good if I left it at a cliffhanger. This story that I read is just for jokes os don't take it too seriously, however, it did happen. Kim Jong Un and the South Korean leader "Moon" were at the summit yesterday and had a fine peace treaty. Kim Jong Un invited Moon over to step at the Northern side of the summit while Moon did the same for him. Then, the two had a fine Lunch together with what is called, "Pyongyang Naengmyeon". Apparently, it's like this dish that wasn't that popular until the summit yesterday. That's when many Koreans started eating it because it felt fitting. Moon himself ordered some for Kim Jong Un and himself to devour. That is it for today's post.
