This is summery of Book Asylum:
by Madelenine Roux.
Summerized by Rinchen Sangpo
It's Saturday today, and I have completed reading " Asylum"a book I have enojoyed reading for last two days. Let me briefly summerizing this book. Asylum is supposed to be scary and I definitely thought that at least towards the beginning and middle stages. Afterward, the pictures shown in the book stopped and they only talked about the horror through writing. Anyway, let me give you some background information on this book. It has a sequel made by "Madeleine Roux", unfortunately, I haven't read it yet. She is a New York Times Bestseller just like every other author I've heard of and I like this book a lot. Apparently, there is even a third version but in my book, it doesn't tell me that (I guess it must have been made from a while back before the third version came out). I' wouldn't be surprised if the second and third books have the same amount of creepy pictures as in this one. I just get spooked whenever I see them.
I will show you a picture of one of the pictures at the very end because I don't feel like looking at it while typing. Let me begin with a summary of this book for those that don't know what happens in it, my father already read it (or so he says). The protagonist in the story is "Daniel Crawford" or "Dan" for short. he goes into a college prep school and makes new friends. But the dorms there give him a weird vibe. So Dan researches some stuff about the "Asylum" realizes it was once an Asylum. Of course, everyone in the school already knows that but for some reason, he starts getting weird messages and nightmares of stuff happening to him. He's kind of like inside the mind of the patients who were taken there and thoroughly mistreated with sharp objects (test subjects).
One day he and his friends enter an abandoned area of the Asylum of which none of the students are supposed to be in. They find pictures of the patients who were part of the failed experiments tested by the Warden. One of his friends gets a strange feeling about one of the pictures there and takes it. The picture is of a little girl with a huge scar on her forehead. This made all of them puke. Dan's other friend Jordan refused to be a part of this search of looking at the pictures because he said they made him uneasy. As the days go by Dan starts getting more and more texts from anonymous users telling him to come at certain areas with specific times. Because of this one of the hall monitors was killed and Jordan's friend "Yi" was badly injured.
Suddenly, Dan researches even more stuff about "Brookline" (the name of the Asylum before it was turned into a dorm) and realizes there was a man named, "Dennis" who was a serial killer. He was taken to this exact Asylum a long while ago (the 1700s) and was experimented on by the Warden, whose name was surprising "Daniel Crawford". Dan himself starts getting really scared because the serial killer's soul must still be a part of the Asylum taking control of people and murdering others and he plays a big part in this mystery. Abby who is one of his friends also takes an interest in this situation because she knows that her aunt was taken to this Asylum a while ago and mistreated as well. She suspects that the little girl in the picture was actually her aunt as a child.
At this point, Dan and Abby know that they must do something about this invite Jordan to join them. He isn't particularly excited but knows that they are his friends and need to stick together. Eventually, Dan and Abby are trapped in a long corridor in the basement of the Asylum and strapped to moving tables. Dennis (the serial killer) has taken over "Felix" (Dan's roommate) and planned to "experiment" on the both of them in revenge for "Daniel Crawford" experimenting on him. However, Dennis doesn't realize that the "Daniel Crawford" with him at that time was a totally different person. Thankfully, Jordan comes in and bonks Felix in the head. They strap him onto one of the moving tables and suddenly Dan gets a strange feeling. He thinks he's starting to harness the feelings and memories of the previous Warden (who was the same name) and in the same situation where Dennis was being experimented on. Finally, Dan is able to regain self conconcious and the three of them report it to the police. Everyone recovers their mind but can't forget what happned in the college prep.
