The Searching

For today’s post I am going to be talking about what I did yesterday and lets just say it didn’t go so well. So basically, I went to Newport Mall with my mom and sister and we all had a blast at first. My mother wanted to watch the “Nun” which is a really creepy movie about an evil nun who has a demon trapped inside of her body and remembers her dark past because of it. My sister and I were personally really scared so we decided to watch another movie. One that was a lot less creepy and mysterious. We picked, “The Searching” because it is about a man who reported his daughter missing because she didn’t come home for the past 5 days. The man starts going crazy and confronts his brother and some of his daughter’s friends of doing stuff to her. Remind you that his daughter is in high school so she’s not just a little girl. But what he doesn’t know is that her daughter is actually very anti-social and has no one to talk to.

Anyways, my mother went to watch her movie since it was starting early so my sister and I waited at Johnny Rockets. We ate chicken tenders and hot dogs which I can tell you isn’t good for my body, but they didn’t have anything much better. After a couple of minutes my aunt came and we talked to her. We all had a great time eating food and talking about school (I just went on my phone). An hour later, my mother came back from the movie theater and ordered some coffee. She put so much sugar inside of the coffee because she needed to stay up late. I even donated her my sweater because I am such a nice person to the Tibetan society. And she refused to give it to me for the rest of the day. Finally, our movie started but my aunt needed to go cause she was tired. I walked her to the train station or at least the entrance and said goodbye. On the way back to the AMC movie theater I was just so excited to watch the movie.

Something that really fascinated me was how many Asian people were in the theater. I could tell you that about 9/10 of the people their were Asian. There was like one white family, now I can totally understand why more Asian people came. They were probably intrigued by the trailer of the movie, since it was about an asian man trying to find his missing asian daughter. And then he suspected his asian brother of taking his daughter. You just can’t find as many movies where Asian people are the main characters, but of course thats changing because of the new movie “Crazy Rich Asians” which had an all asian cast. Although being Asian really didn’t have anything to do with it, I bet having a white person or a hispanic person take the role would’ve been fine ( I secretly think that picking an Asian was the perfect choice).
