I remember stating that Monday was the best day of the week but in reailty it's probably Wednesday. And you might be thinking, since it's Tuesday, shouldn't you have waited until tomorrow to talk about this? Your not wrong, but since I just feel like mentioning it, deal with it. On Wednesday we have P.E and Technology while on Monday it's only P.E and the rest is just like a regular day. Everyday there are at least 2 periods of ELA (today there were 3) and I just can't deal with it. Shouldn't there be some type of diversity? Last year one of the classes got to have P.E as their first period and they were really lucky. Then again, having to excercise or at least walk in the hot weather probbaly isn't that good, in the morning. Then yet again, if it's the morning then it will still be a bit windy, not "hot" like in the afternoon. Anyways, I want to talk about some things.
Today we had an unexpected Community Circle and my class was just as surprised as everyone else. In that period the dean of students for middle school was talking about everything that needs to be mentioned. Like privilages, the good and bad things so far in this year, and field trips. Now me and the kid next to me were raising our hands like crazy to talk about sport field trips. And when I say that I mean we should get to meet with a sport's team that's popular, specifically soccer. Most of the kids only had to say bad things about the school and I totally agree. We still haven't even gotten our chromebooks yet and that really sucks. Who cares about the students that didn't turn it in, that doesn't mean the ones that did shouldn't be able to get theirs.
My ELA teacher as usual hates papers and only does well on computers so she is begging for them to give the chromebooks, after that she hopes they will unblock Youtube because although it is mainly used for fun you cna get some great educational gains out of it and I personally agree. So once the community circle was over the dean of students wanted all of the kids that were going to take the PSAT stay and I was surpried by how small teh group was. It was around 20 people but considering the 120 something kids in 8th grade alone I feel like they are making a big mistake.
So what if your probably not going to get picked by any high schools (me), it still looks better on your college resume than not taking the test at all. And the PSAT they are talking about is teh PSAT 8/9 so yes the students have a choice. The actual PSAT for high school isn't optional. The guidance counselor wanted to inform us the date and that she was going to be giving each of us a ticket for the test so that you can enter the building and not get rejected.
