This research is about how Fortnite is Dying, I know, it’s sad right? Unfortunately, the game that has dominated the gaming series for about 2 years close is now starting to lower its player base, but that is mainly because of both its one faults and only because of the other competitions that have occured in the gaming community. The problem that the gaming community has with Fortnite is just that they are making too many mistakes and some people just feel like the game was never good in the first place but that’s probably because they don’t like the genre of battle royale. 

But let’s start from the very beginning. So Fortnite was just released in July 25, 2017 but it still wasn’t popular, but as the days went on Epic Games had announced their battle royale version of the game and it was off the charts, the whole community was just starting to play and the community was crazy. This was the first came since “Player Unknown Battlegrounds to really set the stage”. As months went by the only thing that happened was Fortnite growing in massive amounts and new additions came into the came game that people adored. But then…. The first really bad move that Epic Games made, they removed the ability to double pump or shoot both shotguns back and forth. 

This may have game more skilled players a better chance at toppling their enemies but it made the people who were already bad at the game in the first place to stop playing. Still, the game had their first new event and the season 5 battle pass had just started. This rocket ship event that took place was the first thing to ever happen as a live event in the game and everyone thought of how cool it was. This was probably when Fortnite reached its highest concurrent players. Some folks couldn’t even get into the game at that time, but afterwards they started to run out of ideas. Either that or the ideas that they came up weren’t that good. The airplanes, vehicles that offer great transportation and do lots of damage, or should I say too much damage. 

If u literally hit someone with the front propeller of the plane it instantly killed them, and u know how fast those things were? It was ridiculous, the airplanes were too overpower, when came the c4, and the fireworks, and the clingers. All bad additions to the came since explosives should not be that common, but know two out of 3 of them are still in the game. Now, on to the haters or people that don’t like the game. Lots people who have played Call of Duty and Overwatch will not enjoy Fortnite because it takes both aiming and a whole new aspect into one, also you only get one life so that definitely may make people hate the game. However, they are thinking of adding respawn pads into the game soon which will definitely make people who love Apex play Fortnite more.

Apex, is a definitely huge competitor and people are always questioning whether or not Apex is the reason why Fortnite is dying. And with the release of the new updates and new battle pass Fortnite definitely has come back like the fast and furious. Apex still can barely rack up 300,000 views on Twitch which Fortnite destroys every time the game makes a new major update of event. This some of the research that I have learned throughout my journey to explain why Fortnite is indeed dying.
