To commence, I believe that the German Soldiers shouldn’t be prosecuted for what they have done to the Jews and others. To summarize, in the movie that I was watching in class that contained graphic images of Jews being killed and other Nazi officials against the U.S army troops. The narrator of the movie was saying that the U.S officials were taking Nazi soldiers and bosses to the labor camps and showing them what had happened, “There was a specific Nazi Labor boss that saw the atrocities that he had caused along with the rest of his comrades and killed himself the next day”.
For instance, honestly if you saw a bunch of dead bodies and knew you were the reason why wouldn’t you want to suicide, unless of course you think that what you did was right but then that would just be wrong. In the War Crimes encyclopedia it suggests that the those who were convicted were most likely put in jail for their actions although almost 40 percent were able to escape. It clearly states in the encyclopedia, “Many detractors have criticized German proceedings, particularly those held in the 1960s and 1970s, for doling out acquittals or light sentences to aging defendants or defendants who claimed superior orders”.
This means that they were forced by others to do what they did and weren’t doing it out of their own will. It all means that the soldiers should not be persecuted because it isn’t fair that they should be persecuted for something they did during war. They connect because both relate to the Holocaust and support the following statement, “they shouldn’t be persecuted”.
To conclude, this is why soldiers should not be prosecuted for something that happened during a war where they are forced to do from a higher power. This is probably some of the last essays from my research papers that I am going to be posting on this blog because I didn't do that many papers over the course of the days from the beginning to the end of the year so obviously that is another reason why I cannot stop.
This was one oft he first essays that I did for my Research paper that I handed into my teacher and it bumped me all the way to a 97 so I'm all for it, of course this was one of the only paragraphs where I didn't do the correct form and so I messed up but my teacher didn't seem to mind since it was our first one.
