The Spiny Bush Viper

I am going to write about my favorite Snake. I know this might be a bit random, but I told you I try to write something new every day. Also this snake is my favorite thats still alive. My real number one is the Titanoboa. I mean, who wouldn't like a giant snake that could devour half the population of the human race. Okay I admit I may have gone a little too overboard on that one, but its still really cool. Lets get started.

This  venomous creature is commonly referred to as the Bush Viper or Green Bush Viper. The name however is inaccurate because of the many other colors it can be. There's red, yellow, orange, blue, and even olive. Males of this species can be grown to a full length of 73 centimeters or 29 inches.

The females however can grow up to 58 centimeters or 23 inches. Males or surprisingly longer than the females. The head of the bush viper has a short snout. This shows more in males then the females. The ginormous eyes are surrounded by circumorbital scales. Between each eye there are about 7 to 9 scales. The nostril is slit and un-attached to the eyes by two scales.

The Bush viper is highly poisonous (should already know). They hunt by ambushing their prey. They hunt at night and sleep at day. Thats a great way to ambush your prey. If I were a snake I'd do the same thing. It hang son to beaches that it can wrap itself on and wait for prey to come near. This will make a fine meal. It can blend in due to its massive variety of colors. The color they have represents the region they live in. It can also warn other predators about its venom.

There are very few things known about a Bush Viper's venom. Its mainly neurotoxic. Neurotoxic is a type of mixed up toxins that can paralyze the unfortunate person. A long time ago this could lead to death due to respiratory problems. They can also carry cytotoxins and fasculins but were not going to talk about that. In Africa there have been countless reports of bites that have caused severe damage to internal organs. Thats all the information I could receive so until the next post.
