Charles Darwin's Childhood

Charles Darwin died at the age of seventy three, April 19, 1882. However is work is still one of the most important topics about Earth and many scientists admire him. In order for Charles Darwin to succeed at what he did it took a determined young man who was willing to prove his idea. As a child Charles Darwin never really did so good at school, was also very curious. His parents never understood whenever he came home with a handful of rocks for his collection.  He never would have guessed that his collection was actually giving him knowledge. However he was a very lucky boy. His family was wealthy and with that wealth he could have whatever he wanted.

When he got older Darwin's mother died and his father wanted him to do some type of useful work even though the wealth that Charles had made so he could've earned a living fort he rest of his life. Thats why his dad put Charles in a school so he could get an education. Charles did very poorly and never liked to learn the subjects at his school. That however, didn't mean Charles wasn't smart he just didn't like the subjects that were mostly acknowledged by the people around him. He could sit for hours reading plays and studying animals, insects, and plants.

When Charles was older his dad sent him to another school where he learn medicine and become a doctor. Charles was not very good at this just like his regular school subjects and struggled. His brother also was sent to the same school to learn medicine. Charles loved to hunt game and ride horses. Fortunately, one day while he was hunting he saw dying bird on the ground that he had killed the day before. He was very upset that only hurt the word. So thats the day he made up his mind to never kill birds again, unless it was for science or food. He should've said that fro all animals because no animal deserves to be killed for nothing.

Eventually Charles's brother Erasmus had set up a little laboratory at their house and loved to work inside it. Charles enjoyed working with his brother to make stuff and the two of them became bright young chemists. Word spread out at Charles's school that he was doing experiments with his brother and a lot of people made fun of him. They called him names like, "Gas" and the Headmaster of the school wasn't pleased. He didn't approve of Charles doing chemistry, especially with the grades that Charles was getting at school. Unfortunately, just like the headmaster Charles's father did not approve as well and scolded Charles. He told Charles that he was going to be a disgrace to his family and that hurt his feelings, a lot. With that being said Charles started to try and find a career, but never stopped doing his "useless" hobbies.
