Today was the day I finished all my "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" books twice! Remember that I said "my". Thats because I still haven't read "Rodrick Rules" and the winter one. In my opinion I think that "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" books are very good and will give kids the urge (feel the need to) tread and improve their reading skills. For me, my dad asks me questions about the books that I finished so that he knows I have a good understanding of the book. Thats why my reading comprehension has improved greatly. Reading comprehension is a part of ELA (English Language Arts) which means it can greatly affect your grade. Thats why I always read.
Another book that I read today is called “Jake Drake, Bully Buster”. Although this book may not be 6th grade level it can still help many kids my age who need reading improvement. Trust me, in my class whenever one of my classmates reads I always have the feeling that they are going to make lots of mistakes. Thats about 50% of my class right their. I’m very happy that I have read this much because now I’m in “Z”. When I say “Z” I mean every year teachers at my school give us a reading test to see where were at. “A” is the worst and “Z” is the best. The closer to “Z” the better.
The funny thing is, when I was in second grade I thought “A” was the best so every time I got “Z” I would cry. I said “Z” because every year I have gotten “Z”. I asked my homeroom teacher how they grade the reading test and she said she didn’t know. Thats why I always tried my hardest whenever I read even though my reading was above average. The second time we took the reading test that same year my teacher told me to read a passage about pigs and I got “Z” again. It really made me angry to hear that and I started crying. Then she asked me why I was crying with a grin on her face. She told me “Z” was the best grade and that got me really happy.
For the rest of my post I’ll make up a random story with a cliffhanger. Note: I will not finish in the next post. One day a Bear by the name of “Dub” was having a great time. He was prancing through the woods exploring it. Then all of a sudden he saw a bee hive. It had lots of bees surrounding it, almost like they knew the bear wanted to take it. On the bright side, their was lots of honey inside that the bear could eat if he retrieved the hive safely. Thats why the bear hid behind a tree, trying to be stealthy. He through a branch on the other side of hive so that the bees would think he was their. Then without notice, the bear jumped into motion and grabbed the hive.
Although it may seem like a victory the bear was being chased by bees from all sides. They were right up his tail, and unfortunately since Dub was running he would eat the honey just yet. The bear would have to find a place to hide. Thats why he hid the hive inside of a tree and grabbed a rock. Then with all his might Dub jumped into he nearest lake. The rock was used as a decoy so that the bees would think he still had it. After a few seconds he stepped foot onto the surface and made sure the coast was clear. He was triumphant! Now that the bees were gonehe went to teh tree. Before getting their Dub heard an enourmous noise a few miles away. With that he rushed to the tree and found out the hive was missing. Who do you think took it and what will the bear do next?
