CNN 10 Homework

"Are the feeding practices of the livestock morally correct if they produce cheaper, bountiful meat for the world?". That is the question that I have brought up today, and my answer is no. I have many reasons for this but let me state three to you right now. One, the way animals are treated while being grown up to become food for us humans to eat. Two, the meat that we get from these meat industries aren't even good at all or another way of saying it is that being cheap doesn't mean it's healthy. Three, it is very bad for the environment as a whole. Animals should not be treated by the meat industries the way they are now and this is why I think this. 

Let me start off with how they are being treated in the first place. Cows and chickens are probably the best examples for this. In case you don't know the meat industries are feeding these two very specific animals stuff that makes their growth rate extremely fast. One baby chicken can have the same weight as an adult version in less than 50 days due to the chemicals used on these creatures. They are also being cramped into very tight spaces and barely have enough room to turn around or take a nap. And if they somehow can achieve this another animal will most likely trample on top of them. The factories are really big but they have just too many animals being grown only to be murdered and eaten. 

Secondly, the meat that comes from this isn't very good at all. And I know most people know this as a fact, the cheaper a product is the worse the quality. No wonder organic meat costs way more, it's way healthier compared to the processed version made by these inhumane companies. It has lot's of chemicals inside of it! Most of the meat companies put stuff in their food that makes us want to eat more, kind of like nicotine in cigarettes. And they don't have lot's of nutrients in them. The diseases made by the chemicals put in the meat are Cancer, Diabetes, and E Coli. To wrap it up, this is probably the main reason why you wouldn't want to eat stuff like this. Of course, there is nothing wrong with occasionally eating them.

Now it's finally time to mention the environment downgrades to these meat companies producing unhealthy food for us consumers to buy. The climate is definitely one thing, I bet you there are factories where the animals are killed and chopped up. And everyone knows that these factories will most definitely produce smoke that rises up into the sky and damages our atmosphere. Another way to call this is "Air Pollution" because it's technically polluting the air. Also, the cows and chicken produce lot's of manure since there are so many and where can you put that? The companies don't need too much manure to feed the other animals so they dump them in a pit that you can see from a high point of view looking at the factories.

Some folks may say that it doesn't matter if the animals aren't being treated right as long as we get cheap and affordable prices. And although I will agree with the fact that it's good to have cheap and affordable prices you should know that because of the way these companies treat the creatures it affects the food we eat as a whole. In addition, would you rather have good prices and bad food or prices that are a bit higher and way healthier meat? Anyway, in conclusion, this is what I think about whether or not livestock is morally correct if the prices are cheaper and more bountiful. Animals have rights to, they are living just like we humans are too. It's not fair that because we are the top of the food chain they suffer.
