In my opinion, I would rather live in a state with a sales tax. This is because for the most part tax is usually like 5 to 10 percent of the product's value. However, if you don't have sales tax then all your other taxes start to go higher. Then, if your neighborhood becomes "richer" and the tax goes up you would have to pay more without sales tax whereas if you did have sales tax then that wouldn't be an issue. The specific state that I would pick to live in would be "Wyoming". This is mainly because Wyoming has no personal income tax out of all the states in America. You don't have to pay nearly as much as in California where the personal income tax is "13.3%".
Now then, in case you don't know Wyoming has a sales tax of just 4%! However, New Jersey's sales tax is 6%! So you can easily see the two percent difference. Now then, (counterargument) some people may say that Wyoming is a very poor state and I agree with them on that. It may be the poorest state in America. But, it has the lowest taxes out of all the states I've searched up. And let me tell you, I've been through Delaware, to California, and even New Jersey! But not once have I seen a lower sales tax and tax in general than Wyoming. Besides, if the place is poor then you can just easily afford a house because it probably doesn't cost a lot.
Besides, it's just like the saying, "Don't judge a state by its tax". OHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Anyway, a quick fact, did you know that Wyoming's gas prices are 24 cents compared to New York's $3 to $5 dollars? That's how poor the state is, but that doesn't change the tax prices. So what have I showed you today? That out of all the states Wyoming is the one that I would preferably live in, it has the lowest tax prices out of any state by far (all the tax, not just sales), and compared to other states it's really poor. Well then, until next time folks.
