Diary. reading note

I think I read enough chapters of the book “Kane Chronicles” to continue summarizing it. Last time I left off at the part where Sadie and Carter’s dad went missing ever since he caused the explosion at the museum. When Carter was getting up he saw vaguely saw two people looking straight down on him. They said they were planning on killing him and his sister when the police officers arrived at the scene. The two kids remembered seeing their father summon a red human like figure from the Rosetta Stone and that figure telling their father that he also released the other five. They were confused but didn’t have time to process anything since the police were taking them in for investigation. Carter and Sadie told the investigators that they’re father had been trapped inside a coffin and it sank down into the ground but the officers wouldn’t believe them (obviously).

Sadie was starting to get really pissed and got especially mad when the police investigator asked her how she felt about her brother. Sadie knew she was implying that she was adopted since their father and Carter looked the same (they were black and she was white), but Sadie yelled at her saying Carter was her real biological brother, not in law. Eventually, they were brought into the living room with Sadie’s grandparents. Out of nowhere the officer told them that Sadie and Carter were going to be deported back to America since that was where they were both originally from. Sadie was outraged and then suddenly the police officer walked away. Then, came in Amos (a man who Carter caught arguing with their father about something).

At first Sadie thought that Amos would be very bad for Carter and her but as they started conversing she realized that he was actually there to help them and stop their father from doing what he did. That’s the reason they were arguing back there. Amos said that he was able to use his powers to make the Police Officer say they were deported. He stated, that they could’ve have been put in prison but because of him they weren’t. The reason he made it so they were deported is so that they two children would come with him to his mansion and learn to control their magical abilities. I now realize how this is different from the previous book since the amulets aren’t very important. They are only useful to contain the magic. The actual user is the one that can make spells without the amulet. That is it for today’s post.
