Today was the second and final day of Soccer Tryouts and to be honest I think I did decent. Now obviously, compared to some players I wasn't the best but that's not the point. The 6th and 7th graders were okay because if they didn't make it they could always re apply for the next year and do even better. Meanwhile, 8th graders won't really have that chance unless you sign up during High School. My legs were sore the whole day because on Monday (first day of Soccer Tryouts), that was the first time in a long time that I actually moved my body a lot.
For the past 2 weeks I had been practicing my dance and that doesn't require a lot of energy, also because we were only doing like 3 practices in one day. Meanwhile, the coach wasn't going to let anyone get a break and it was just hard work on and on. The first thing we did was for everyone to wear their cleats and get their water before heading outside. my coach said that we were going to be doing 3 laps and you should definitely be able to get 3 laps in under 6 minutes otherwise that just wasn't good enough.
Because obviously, running matters in soccer. You need to be fast especially with the ball. Now, afterwards we were split into 3 different teams and it wasn't exactly the most fun. The first time it was 6 different groups and every team had to have at least 2 girls in them so it was hard. But eventually it worked, we were just doing bits and pieces of the field but it was really fun. And finally, it was time for the real thing. We were all told to get our colors and separate ourselves into 3 different teams. Each team had both groups that were originally facing each other, and now the game was going to be from the whole field.
My teacher was going to see how exactly we reacted in a situation like this. Now of course, I was put in mid field so I had to stay in that area but it was okay to move out at times. got very little action with the ball and even almost brought it out but then a kid stole it from me and took off to their own goal because they were going to pass it to their teammates. I was able to kick the ball to my teammate at the very end and he kicked it into the goal.
It was actually pretty cool and I was happy that I got the assist on that. I hope my coach saw me do that because other than that I didn't do much. One of my friends got really pissed because this one kid 360'd him, and when I say 360'd I mean the kid used his foot and turned his whole body in a 360 making it so my friend couldn't get the ball without scoring a foul. It was really cool but I felt bad because my friend got embarrassed. Anyway, I had realized that my dad was watching the whole time, or maybe he couldn't even recognize me because of the shirts. And I went to get my stuff and walked to the car so we drove home.
