I guess for today's post I should be talking about my Soccer Tryouts and stuff because I don't fee like showing another one of my essays just yet, maybe tomorrow. Actually, if I have to do my writing I am going to be talking about whether or not I made it onto the Soccer Team on Thursday. But for now I want to talk about the tryouts yesterday. So as soon as class was over and it was time to go to dismissal or your bus rooms I walked downstairs with all of my belongings and just happened to run tiny my Gym teacher who was actually in charge of all this.
He said that we were going to be doing drills and stuff but first everyone needed to meet up in the gym so that we could register. And it just so turns out that by the time I had reached the gym there were already a couple of kids there. But still only like 1/3 of everyone was there, I didn't see a single girl yet. Then, as soon as my Gym teacher came all of the girls came in. I remember hearing like a group of 4 girls say that they didn't want to enter because it was only boys.
My teacher registered everyone and wanted us all to know who had already registered online. I had already done it online but some kids didn't and those kids were told to write their name on a piece of paper. I guess there really was no point in signing online but if I didn't sign online then I wouldn't have brought my cleats. Only a couple of kids wore cleats and the rest wore sneakers cause they were fine with that. My cleats felt a little small but I was able to get used to them, it wasn't much of a struggle to be honest. Then, everyone got their waters and stuff so that they could head out.
I need to remember to bring water next time because I was honestly really thirsty. It didn't really make me feel comfortable. The first thing that we did was complete 2 laps around the field, I'm not exactly the fastest person so I didn't do that well in the running department, there are a couple of kids that really finessed me in that run.
Afterwards, we were read across the field and we're told to do different versions of suicides. I thought that they were honestly really awkward but you know that's just me. After the suicides (running about 20 yards and going back), my teacher made drills where everyone would be dribbling, and it would test endurance, speed, and ball handling which were 3 key things in determining whether or not you would make it onto the team.
