Flat Stanley's Worldwide

 Adventures 9

                                       The U.S Capital Commotion

Every Fourth of July Stanley will feel angry and embarrassed because all he gets to do is be the flag in the pole. If you don't know Flat Stanley is a regular boy until he gets toppled over by a bulletin board that his father bought for him. That is how he became flat.

Every Fourth of July he climbs on the pole in the parade float and pretends he is a flag. Since he is flat he can turn into a square or slide under doors. He is only 1 and a 1/2 inches wide so he can use his mobility, weight and width in order to turn into a flag. A lot of reporters took videos and pictures of Stanley while he is on the pole. The next day Arthur {Stanley's brother} told Stanley that the whole family was in the newspaper.

Suddenly the doorbell rang. When the family opened the door they found that the governor of the united states was upon them. The governor said that Stanley was known around the whole nation. Nobody didn't know who Stanley was. The governor said that the president wanted to give him a bronze medal for saving the nose of Abraham Lincoln in Mount Rushmore.

So the whole family rode on the helicopter to Washington D.C.  When they got there Stanley saw what he thought were kidnappers. They were their black clothes with sunglasses. Stanley ran away from the kidnappers and headed for the Washington monument where Stanley climbed it to get away from the kidnappers. He discovered that the kidnappers that he thought were actually just guards who were trying to find him so he could be sent to the president.

When he got to the president she had salsa chips in her possession for them to share. The reason that Stanley deserved this medal was because of the amazing adventures he had around the world and how he saved mount Rushmore. She said that she thought Stanley was special and different than most people.

In the ceremony for Stanley's medal all of Stanley's friends and people he has met in all of travels. Everybody there remembered how brave he was and how Stanley helped them. Stably even remembered how they helped him. At the end Stanley got his medal and they all did a closing act to finish everything.
