Concept
Digimon, short for "Digital Monsters" is a kid's series like any other anime. The characters and monsters are based from real like inspiration and drawings. Like people, animals, and objects. It also has a similar franchise with anime, manga, video games, and films. The base of the story is that a group of 7 kids who were at summer camp, were able to travel to the digital world. These children got help from a man named "Gennai". The Digimon evolve when their owners are in times of peril or in dangerous situations. They also receive crests for each other that symbolize their characteristics.
The digital world is created by communication servers and malfunctions on Earth. Thats also one of the reasons why the digital world is cube shaped. While they arrive in the digital world they each pair up with new Digimon to aid them on their journey. They use these Digimon which later evolve, to help get rid of evil Digimon and humans. After a while they receive a new character called "Kari" who is Taichi's younger sister.
The second Digimon adventure is continuing the first one. It shows most of the characters at the age of fourteen. They are in high school. However over those years a new dark evil is in the digital world and enslaving digimon to do his work. He is using ciphers that make it so they can't evolve into their final forms and over power him. However five digi-eggs with engraved emblems have been created to stop evil. They with their new partners get rid of the dark emperor who they discover is human like him. After that Ken's (evil emperor's name) minions start savaging the digital world creating more evil as they go. Ken repays the digi-destined by helping them fight his minions.
Digi Eggs (Lifestyle)
Digimon hatch out of objects called Digi-Eggs. There is also another type of egg called a Digimetal. It helps evolve or strengthen another Digimon. Their age affects their Digi evolution which changes appearance and abilities all the way to the max height. The unfortunate part of Digi evolution is that it is not permeant. As soon as the fight's over or the Digimon is too weak to continue it reverts back into it's original form.
Some Digimon act feral but most of them are controlled by their owners using digivices. These objects can make them evolve or decrease in stage. In the first series "Digimon", humans were only able to evolve their digital monsters using crests and the "digivices". Digimon also realized a game called "Digimon Life Cycle" where owners have their own digimon each. It shows that when a digimon's life is fatal it turns into a digi-egg and is later reincarnated back to its original form. Some Digimon may have dreams or memories of their past lives, some may have permanently died and never come back.
"Digimon" Video Games
Digimon became very popular very fast and widespread across the world. It has a vast variety of different games that involve their own storylines. These storylines may connect or be similar to the manga or films created. There are over 10 different games for this particular franchise. Badnai (company) created a web page for this franchise in order to advertise the game "Digimon Story: Lost Evolution". Many other games that have come for the American consoles like "Digimon: Cyber Sleuth" and "Digimon All Star Rumble" are still present.
