Field Trip

Today I am going to talk about my Second Field Trip of the Fifth Grade Year. We are going to someplace very cool and unique is what I want to say. You guessed right, THE PLANETARIUM OF JERSEY CITY! The place was amazing filled with all types of exhibits and many different archeological artifacts.

My favorite place was called the Planetarium itself. It had a giant dome surrounding the whole place. We watched two shows. One about the Earth, Moon and Sun. We watched how the people from long ago explain the unsolvable mystery. They used many legends or theories is what I like to call it.

One legend says that two animals which were the Coyote and the Eagle wanted night. They traveled for many nights until finally the reached an ancient temple that held a very shiny artifact. The Eagle grabbed the box and flew away with Coyote following it. Coyote soon got curious on what was in the box and asked the Eagle if he could carry the shiny box. The Eagle gave in after so many questions and left. The Coyote finally had the box and obviously opened it releasing the moon through the night sky. This legend explains why the moon comes and goes. The say that the Moon is scared of the Coyote catching it and putting it back in the box.

The other show talked about the Apollo and how it traveled through space searching for many rocks and minerals. It finally finished the search and tried to travel back to space. But for some reason the Apollo went the wrong direction and left the entire moon while not returning to Earth either. It is still floating in this galaxy to this day just waiting to be found again.

After the Show we saw many things like more exhibits and we got to eat lunch. I had a egg, cheese, and jam sandwich along with 3 pieces of bread. My friends thought that I was crazy but I told them they should try it out. As long as you have milk or  orange juice to swallow the food easier you can eat it really fast.

I saw many dinosaur fossils like the Mosasaurus,Tyrannosaurus, and the Triceratops. We also went upstairs to the highest peak of the Planetarium where we saw many different types of paintings and many teapots as well. Then we went back downstairs and stayed for 3 minutes to relax until the bus came and we went home.

THE END
