Last Kids On Earth

For today’s post I’ll be talking about a book I’ve been reading for the past 2 days It is called “The Last Kids on Earth”. Trust me, if you could see the title you’d know why it says that. Anyway the book “The Last Kids on Earth” is written by “Max Brallier” and he is also the author of one of my all time favorites, “Galactic Hot Dogs”. The book is illustrated by “Douglas Holgate”. That sounds professional enough, now does it? Now I’ll begin summarizing the book, and when I say summarizing I mean talking about the book to the littlest detail.

A kid named “Jack Sullivan” lives in a town that has been taken over by zombies, and not just the classic kind. Their are others much more terrifying. Some as big as a school, others that can fly like eagles. Its basically a mutant zombie apocalypse. Before his zombie life he was an orphan. A foster kid who would travel from family to family until he found one. Unfortunately for him the last family that taken care of him lived here. Then after the zombie apocalypse had started his family had left him to move to the West. There had been rumors that in the West it was safe because soldiers were practically swarming the place.

Since his foster family left him he just stayed here and now he’s basically stuck, unless he can find a way out and be free. However Jack doesn’t really want to leave. He likes destroying zombies and being  a slayer. Anyway while I was typing this up Jack Sullivan was fighting a mutant zombie. He named it “Blarg” because thats the sound it made whenever it tried to talk. If I was Jack I’d run away, but seeing we don’t have the same brain he chose to fight. Then later on he just ran, but not without a picture. He wanted to picture every moment he could for the fun of it and to show future generations how life was like for him. As Jack ran he headed to where he lives during the apocalypse.

His own tree house! Fortunately he’s made some major upgrades while surviving in this town. The reason Jack even went outside the tree house in the first place was because he needed to get a really tiny screwdriver from the CVS store. Thats also the place he fought “Blarg”. With the tiny screwdriver Jack fixed the Walkie talkie he was given to from his friend Quint. He doesn’t know wether or not Quint is even alive, but really hopes so.

Another thing he does to make his time during the zombie apocalypse not boring is making feats or accomplishments. Whenever he’s close to finishing them he just thinks of more. Great idea actually. The amazing part is that when he fixes the walkie talkie he test tries it and hears a voice. It was Quint’s voice. He was still alive! Jack wondered how Quint looked like. Turns out he was still the same as always. Thats all I’ve read for now.
