I just came back from an excruciating walk in New York City. Now, let me start off by saying that it still was really fun but the amount of walking I did was not acceptable at all. Besides that, it was around 30 degrees outside! Then again, it was technically my fault for not wearing a jacket. Anyway, now I'm gonna talk about what in New York City (without the morning because a lot happened). After getting off the train my sister and I followed my dad away from the train station and towards some type of event that was happening near the front of the U.N building. That was the main reason my dad took my sister and me outside, apparently, it was "Tibetan Uprising Day". Now I didn't know that was a thing so it surprised me when we went there.
At the event, my dad told me he didn't plan on staying for long. We only stayed for more than 5 minutes because he wanted to see how many people would come. As I was looking I saw an English woman with a camera on her neck. Maybe she was planning on taking pictures or just happened to find out about it. While there my dad met three of his "friends". Soon enough, we left the area and headed towards a place with food. In the end, we found a Whole Food's Market that was newly renovated (or so it seemed). My sister and I really wanted to go to the buffet and searched everywhere until we found where it was. There honestly weren't many options, thankfully they had macaroni so that was what I mainly ate. The food altogether (including three bagels) cost about 23 dollars.
Unfortunately for us, we couldn't find a seat so out only option was to go outside and eat at "Bryant Park" (the one that has an ice skating rink). The one reason I hated eating outside in the park was that of how cold it was. I really should have listened to my father and bring a jacket! Finally, after 30 minutes we finished eating and I reminded my dad that we were supposed to go to Barnes and Noble's. At the store, I really wanted to buy a new manga. My favorite anime is called, "My Hero Academia" (I'm even watching a song about it right now) and I hoped that they would have a new book for it. However, as I checked the aisle the latest one was number 12, the one I had already finished a week ago and even bought. Thankfully, there was another option called, "Blue Exorcist".
When I say "Option" I actually mean another anime. I've watched part of the show for this one but never read a book about it. That is to say, unless you count the first three mangas my friend gave to me. Anyway, it's not like the only thing I did there was get a manga. I searched the lower and middle part of the section as well. But something happened while I was reading the manga at the store. My father told me he was going to go to the lower floor of the store. Unfortunately, I didn't hear him and got really scared after 20 minutes of trying to find him. Eventually, I relaxed and went back to the aisle with the mangas. Instead of hyperventilating I continued reading the book hoping that they would come and look for me. And like I thought, they did. According to father, they were in the teen's section (I didn't know that was even there) looking at all the "amazing" books.
I think at that point even my sister wanted to go home but she didn't seem to act like it. We just visited one more store before heading back to the train station where we came from. The store was called, "Muji" was basically all Japenese. They didn't have like all types of Japenese clothing but everything at that store was made from Japan (except for the actual building, interior design, and people working there). The part that I enjoyed the most was when the three of us sat on these "bean" bags. They weren't actually "bean" bags but something I didn't know of. Either way, the cushions felt extremely comfortable and I happily sat there for about 5 minutes. One of the women there said "Hi" to my dad but I don't think he remembered. They all seemed really nice and my father was saying stuff like, "Konnichiwa". That means "Hi", just in case you wondering the woman who said "Hi" to my dad said it in English. That is it for today's post.
