For today’s post I am going to be talking about PARCC as well as the usual day. First period was supposed to be Science but our teacher wasn’t there. Apparently, he and his class were going to a field trip, unfortunately I don’t know where. SO instead, one of the other 7th grade teachers decided to sub in for him, she told us to continue finishing the worksheet and then read independently once done. I finished pretty fast and started reading my “The Three Musketeers” book. I haven’t brought it home yet because I still didn’t finish my other book (just completed reading it today). Soon enough, it was time to go to P.E!
I was happy that there wasn’t a substitute teacher because they were probably going to make us play basketball. We did our regular exercise and then the warmup game. It was where my teacher gives someone the ball and they have to pass it to someone else. Everyone who gets the ball has to do the same thing until 15 passes. My class has started getting really used to this game so we didn’t mess up. The first game we played was “Elimination Dodgeball”. I thought it was going to be where everyone has to hit the other team until they have no players. But, instead there were two teams and 3 bowling pins on each side. The goal was to hit the other team’s pins.
After P.E there was Lunch and my teacher went told everyone to get their sweaters. As soon as we headed outside of the building rain started coming. I think I have the same problem as my dad where whenever we start heading towards our destination the weather just completely flips around. Before, there weren’t any problems with the rain. And you want to know the funny thing about all this? My teacher didn’t even realize it was raining until after we were at the field. Then, all the kids had to head back, some were protesting that it was barely raining and I honestly agreed. Though I know that isn’t going to change me teacher’s mind. He already felt silly enough for not realizing it was raining, what would happen if he got in trouble for taking the kids out?
Once I got back inside the classroom with my friends we saw the dance kids practicing. Also, the desks were moved to either the left or right side of the room. So you weren’t able to actually sit where you normally did. The dance teacher seemed very frustrated that us kids were coming back into the room so she got a bit mad when everyone started talking. Like most kids, we got quiet and just watched the Dance performers do their thing. It was really cool, not going to lie! My friend Nabeel looked really devoted, he was grabbing his leg and flipping it everywhere (was supposed to). Then this girl named “Amy Ramirez” was balling it! She acted like an actual choreographer!
Now it’s time to talk about PARCC! Mr. Correa my class use the bathroom before taking it. There was this other woman who I don’t even know the same of but she seemed pretty nice. The test wasn’t even that hard to be honest! I liked the way the whole room was so quiet (hard to get sometimes). Finally, the test was finished and the teacher let us use the bathroom again if we wanted to. Hamzah (probably smartest kid in the school), got his first detention this year! It was because he was saying the teacher didn’t needed to be so harsh on his directions, I think he was joking around at first but then started getting a bit sassy. In the end he got detention and it wasn’t funny at all…. (I wanted to laugh but the mood was too depressing).
