I was just causally sleeping when my father turned on the lights and told me that I don't need to go to school today. So far, I haven't been absent from school for quite a while. But apparently, today was flooding and the weather was just really bad. So he told me to just say home and do my homework. Now, of course I figured that the start of Winter break meant that I wouldn't have homework, it is a historical moment. But as you can tell he didn't agree. Now because my dad doesn't enjoy me talking about my day (even though I already started) I'm going to continue from yesterday.
When Zane walked home he saw Brooks literally standing right in front of his house. He was confused and asked her why she was there and why he didn't see her for the rest of the day. She wasn't planning on answering any of those questions and told him to go to the backyard with her. Zane started to get defensive because this was his house and not hers but because he thought she was pretty he decided not to do anything that would ruin their short relationship. As they entered the house Zane's uncle was sitting on the couch and asked what she was doing here.
He said that they were going to be right back and the uncle (Hondo) didn't have a problem with it. Finally, once they were alone Brooks started two tell him about how he was special and asked if he saw anything from the volcano crash yesterday. Before Zane could respond his mother entered the house and asked what Brooks was doing her. Zane had some trouble explaining and Brooks said that she was just one of his friends and planning on leaving soon. Zane could tell his mother's kind expression would end as soon as Brooks left the door because the principal called her complaining about him whacking one of the bullies with the cane.
The next day Brooks came back and said that Zane and her were going to go into the volcano. At first Rosie (Zane's best friend/dog) was hesitant and started barking at her, but after a couple of hugs and belly rubs Rosie had no problem with Brooks staying. Brooks said that he was special because he was some sort of half human. She was a nasal which means shape shifter's. They can change into any form that they want, however Brooks was an anomaly since she was also half human. And that meant that she could only change into one animal. And it just so happens that the animal she can change into is a bird.
At that point, they were already in the base of the Volcano and Zane was reluctant to go any further in knowing that if he showed Brooks the hidden tunnels into the volcano it wouldn't seem like a special secret anymore. But because this was something relating to the end of the world he decided to stop being such a wimp and just tell her. Finally, the two of them ran into a demon runner, it was one of the creatures that Zane saw the moment where the alien-like creature crashed onto the top of the volcano. Apparently, it is Zane's destiny to free the god of death "Au Puch" and it's up to this demon runners to find Zane and bring him to Au Puch. Zane knows that Au Puch will probably destroy the whole world so he complains about his destiny. Until next time guys!
