The Storm Runner

I have been reading this book called, "The Storm Runner" for the past couple of days and I am starting to really enjoy it. So you know how I previously talked about Mayan Gods and how I played this game called, "Smite"? Well, because I played that game for almost 300 hours I know the lore behind most of the playable gods and their names. So the god of Zeus and Hera are from the Greek Pantheon while the god Fenrir and Thor are from the Norse mythology. It just how happens that one of the gods from this game that they really talk about is this one called, "Au Puch". And this god is the Maya god of death, I never really liked playing him because of the way that he was supposed to be played but he did have a distinct look and was known in the gaming community for being pretty overpowered and easy to play as long as you had good game mechanics. And because I was so used to getting murdered by other players using Au Much I know how the game portrays his design. There is a picture of him on the top of the post, and as you can see he doesn't have the prettiest face. Although, he does look cool from a gaming perspective. My point is, whenever I read books made from Rick Riordan talking about gods from different mythologies it just so happens that most of the time one of them is portrayed and available to play in Smite (I know how every god looks in that game so it's interesting to have a visual). Now let's start tot all more about the book since that is what you came here for (dad). The Storm Runner is about a boy named, "Zane" who was once born with a weird leg, one of them is shorter than average height while the other is fine. It really affects him because his mom has to buy two different pairs of shows and it makes him running much harder, he has to wear crutches. And it just so happens that Zane has a volcano at his backyard, for some reason he and his mom live in a deserted part of Mexico. Yet they still are able to function and live a life that appears normal. One day he is invited to a private school filled with Nuns and is reluctant since he's been homeschooled for a year and starting to enjoy it. But because it's free and his mother was already so happy to hear that he got in Zane didn't feel like saying no. So he got ready for his first day, while on the way to school using the bus he overheard a group of kids saying he was weird and why one of his legs were shorter than the other, they also commented on his dog (since the dog was missing a full leg) and made a nasty joke saying he must've ate it. On his first day things definitely weren't going well, because as the day went on he beat up this one bully with his personal cane since he was talking a little too much. Zane got in trouble but met this one girl named Brooks who intrigued him, (also it was the only girl he'd actually talked to for more than a couple of seconds) she asked what he was doing in the deans office and they had a little conversation before she left and he had to endure the rest of the day without her. I'll talk more about this book later.
