Yesterday I continued to read this book called, " The Storm Runner " and today's post is going to be my 4th summary on it, I'm going to keep continuing this until I am done summarizing the book in it's full glory. So after Zane came home and talked to Ms. Cab the old lady left but promised that she would go and talk to some of her friends to find out if Rosie was doing okay. Meanwhile, Zane was going to confront his mother about why she never told him that his father was a god and that he was a supernatural. Because that clearly explained why they lived in the middle of nowhere, unless there was an even deeper meaning lying somewhere.
Soon enough, Brooks had come back and the Nawal had recovered. Zane's mother said she could sleep in her bed while she slept on the couch since Brooks was a guest. Brooks thanked her and hurried upstairs to talk to Zane about the prophecy and explain more things to him. They had made a plan to go to the volcano the next day and find out how to defeat Au Puch once and for all. Finally the day has come and Zane goes outside with Brooks to head inside of the volcano. They reach the end of the tunnels and find a sacrifice chamber that was going to be used to hold zane in, the demon runners made this sacrifice chamber.
The day before Zane was reading his book about Mayan mythology and tried to remember the names of most of the lords of the underworld but some of them were really bad. Not inappropriate but just hard to even say because of how uncomfortable they made you feel thinking about it. Suddenly, there was another demon runner on the scene and it started to chase after the two supernaturals. Brooks and Zane had no choice but to dive underwater and swim their way to freedom but right before they were going to dive the demon grabbed Brooks and yanked her back to the ground where she was begin attacked.
Zane was able to defeat the creature with his energy and powers (that he didn't know how to control) but it turns out that no matter what he would have bene able to do Brooks looked like she was going to head towards the underworld. That was when Zane hard Au Puch's voice and saw his owl, this owl was sort of his symbol and was holding him inside of this volcano for a very long time. Zane had the power to let him go but only if he saved Brooks life and mad Rosie come back to life. Au Puch reluctantly agreed and was surprised to hear that Zane would risk his life just so that he could save a Nawal, I guess to him they are insignificant creatures but he made a deal.
Zane had to quote Au Puch's words saying that he was going to serve him for all of eternity and follow by his side. Zane knew the risks but couldn't imagine the girl he knew for only a couple of days to die immediately and loved Rosie for being his only friend in times of need. Once the deal was made Au Puch had risen on the top of the volcano and made Zane sleep. When the boy woke up Brooks was helping him get up but Rosie was nowhere to be found. Zane got pissed and started yelling in the air that Au Puch had gone against the deal since he couldn't see the god of death anymore. Then, explained to Brooks about his predicament and showed the little mark on his arm that indicated he was now a servant of Au Puch's.
