Post 6

Today I was reading two books. One was called “Judy Blume, Freckle Juice” and the other was called “The Young Man at Sea”. The first book I’ll talk about is “The Young Man at Sea” because I only got through two chapters of the book. “The Young Man and the Sea” is about a kid named Skiff. Apparently Skiff’s mother died and his father is drunk. Skiff takes care of a boat called “The Mary Rose” that was given to him at the age of nine by his father. He really likes the book and takes it upon himself to “raise” it. Now thats the definition of a devoted kid. 

All throughout the story it also talks about how his father and mother were part of two different families. His father’s family was called the “Beaman’s” and his mother’s family was named the “Spinney’s”. The “Spinney’s” never let his father forget that he was a “Beaman” and how they were called Swampers. The reason they were called Swampers was because the “Beaman’s” lived off the creek. The creek gave them ways to make money like trap crabs and salt clams. In the Fall the Swampers would shoot down birds and geese. That sounds like a pretty fun lifestyle to me. However, the “Spinney’s” were all either poor or rich. It was that simple. Well thats pretty much the summary I can give to you so far.

Now to talk about my other book, “Judy Blume, Freckle Juice”. This book is pretty short and about 40 pages. In my honest opinion this book is only for 1st graders, at the very least. The highest could probably be 4th grade. Now lets begin. The book is about a kid named Andrew Marcus who is obsessed with getting pimples. Its basically the only reason he never pays attention in class. The kid who sits directly in front of him in class is called Nicky Lane. He does have freckles, and tons of them. The only reason Andrew wants freckles is because if he does he can avoid his mother telling him to wash his neck and get to school on time.

After thinking for a while his teacher startled him and asked if he was focusing. Andrew replied with a yes and headed off to his reading group. One of the girls, who he hated the most was laughing at him. Her name was Sharon. Sharon knew that Andrew wanted freckles and decided to do something about it. Thats why she asked him if Andrew wanted the secret “freckle juice” that would give him freckles. Sharon also said that it would cost 50 cents. At first Andrew just ignored her because he knew Sharon as usually a trouble maker. However when he got home Andrew gathered up fifty cents of his allowance.

The next day Andrew put the fifty cents in his pocket and headed to school. At class he gave Sharon the fifty cents and she gave him a slip of paper. The he got home Andrew read the paper and saw that their was a list of ingredients starting from Ketchup. All the way to onions. When he finished mixing the ingredients Andrew drank the it and his stomach started hurting. His mother came home moments later and he went to bed. The next day freckles weren’t popping up. As expected….. He went to class and the teacher told him that he looked handsome without freckles. This changed Andrew’s view of things and his obsession stopped.

or today’s post I’ll be writing about a book called “The Zombie Chasers” and more of Overwatch (the game). Before I talk about these two subjects let me just say that today I could write about school, mostly because I wrote about it yesterday. Only if I went to Saturday school, which I don’t, would I be able to write about school. Another reason why is because I usually write about school on Saturday’s post, but today since I have to talk so much about “The Zombie Chasers” I decided not to. School may be a fun subject to most people, and I certainly like school. Its just that sometimes you have to think of more. In the bright side I write about school ever day from Monday to Friday so don’t worry.

Now on to “The Zombie Chasers!”. I started this book about a week ago and just finished it today. These are some of the books that I really like. The boos that I get to choose must have three requirements. A decent amount of pictures, lots of pages, and must have action. If the book I have doesn’t have comedy or action inside of it what can make me want to read it? Its just boring. “The Zombie Chasers” is a book about five kids and one good who find themselves in an apocalyptic world filled with zombies. Before, someone created an antidote that could make them human again. However that antidote unfortunately worn off and now the kids have to try to save the world!

Their are some weird circumstances that you won’t find anywhere else. For one, you can only be infected if you eat meat. If you are a vegan you won’t be infected, and thats a good thing because two out of the 5 kids in the group are vegans. Well actually now one because apparently the vegan ate some meat and turned into a zombie. Another weird circumstance is that the first antidote was actually pop corn that was brain flavored. I don’t know when they found out what Brain taste like, but I sure do not want to know. I mean would you? The brain flavored popcorn was a way to lure the zombies into eating it and they were supposed to be cured. 

 The group of kids have actually met some people who still weren’t infected and have made friends with some of them. One of their friends is a person who they don’t know has turned into a zombie or is still living. The other person isn’t exactly a friend, but a sister to one of the kids. She is also a vegan so they could sue her to good use. In the middle of the story the three kids find themselves in a place called “Bunco’s Fun World” where the sister is found. Then one of the kids called “Rice” uses some of her blood and makes an antidote. However Rice also makes another mistake because he accidentally turned three of Olivia’s parents ( who were already zombies) into highly intelligent zombies.

I won’t spoil the end of the story for you guys because if you do read the book I want to know your reaction. Now I’ll talk about the game called Overwatch that is available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Overwatch is team based so you have to work together with your teammates to achieve your goal. Also at the end of the game there is something called “POTG” which stands for “Play of the Game”. This means that at the end of the game it will show the best player and what they did. Some ways to be best player is by getting the largest amount of kills in about 10 seconds. Another way which is pretty are, is to revive all your teammates when they die. The only character that can do this is Mercy because she is the only one who can revive. THE END

Another day in the life of Rinchen Sangpo. Today i’m going to write about school, but more importantly the last day of the week. There is usually one really special day that outlays the rest when it comes down to the week, and that is either Friday. The two days that can compete that in my case are Monday and Saturday. The reason I say Saturday is because Saturday actually has a whole other day before school starts. Monday is when I have Gym at school so that is why it is on the list. However Friday has two days after it and Gym on it too. That basically means Friday is much better. Unfortunately since I don’t have any wifi Monday has become my favorite day. 

Today is Friday so I try to make the most of it. Since today is Gym me and my friends plan on playing something fun. While I was in Social Studies class my teacher let me go to the bathroom. With that opportunity I liked at the Gym and saw the other 6th grade class playing some sort of dodgeball. Now when I looked at the Gym I was really happy because dodgeball was my favorite sport and I know many people can agree. One of which, was my friend named “Khelifa”. Both of us have been friends for exactly one year and I think that this year both of us will stick together and not let each other down. Especially since we both seat in almost every class together and are in the same bus.

For Social Studies class our teacher talked a bit more about the Holocaust and how important it is to be mature. He said if we don’t be mature we would be taken out from the field trip. After talking about the field trip he put up a video about it. The video was 9 minutes long and was a woman talking about the crisis of the Holocaust. Then it would have a say on the children and what they went through. The last image the teacher let us see or at least was trying to take off was showing three teenager Jews working at a factory with their shirts off. We could see that they were given no food and why so many of them died. Starvation! Their arms were so skinny and we could see the bones through the chest.

At Gym the teacher told us to do our regular running spree for 6 minutes and then do our activity. To me it seemed like a lot of kids were getting pulled out while running. nine students were taken out for the rest of the class period. The activity that we had was pretty fun. Each student got one bean bag and were supposed to keep it on top of one of their hands. The other people could use their other hand and smack the bean bag of our’s. If they did that you would have to do five jumping jacks. Me and my friend were doing doing a 1v1 until suddenly the teacher comes and smacks both our bean bags from our hands. I mean he didn’t tell us he would so that!

The last paragraph I am going to type is about what I did on the bus going home. Khelifa fortunately brung his phone from his house and we both watched youtube. The video we were watching was about a game named Overwatch. One thing you don’t know about me is that whenever I have a chance to play a game I take it, and nowadays my favorite game is called “Overwatch”. Unfortunately I don’t play the PC version because I just cant. However I think Overwatch on the console is a great idea and they should make tournaments for the console. Overwatch is basically a first person shooter created by “Blizzard” which is a gaming company. You can pick a variety of heroes to battle which and each character has different abilities and counters.

Post 3

Today is another day about school. At the start of the day I woke up my sister at exactly 6:00 p.m and then we both headed downstairs. When we got down my sister wanted to eat breakfast. I got dressed up and dropped her to school at 7:00 p.m. Then I watched some TV and headed outside to my bus stop. To my surprise two out of the five kids that are usually there already came. I’m used to being the first person there. Then the other girl that was supposed to come came and the bus arrived. When I got on the bus my friend “Paljor” was already sitting on his seat and we talked together. The both of us were joking until I hit his shoulder by mistake and hurt my finger. 

When I got to class half of them were already there. The stupid thing was that my bus was late and I couldn’t have breakfast at the same time as everyone else. At Drama class the teacher, Mr. Galvis, told us complete a worksheet and the he’ll think of something out. Well the guys’s idea was to have four people come up and pick two people to act out their paper. I was picked from the 2nd person and all three of us worked on acting. The funny part was that I accidentally pushed her when she was supposed to push me and we both laughed in the middle of the act. Fortunately for us my friend’s play was much worse.

After Art my class had Science with our homeroom teacher. The only reason I am talking about Science is because I was able to eat my breakfast. It felt kind of weird because I ate the most breakfast out of everyone else. A carton of milk, crackers, and cereal. My friend only had crackers and the other classmate had only cereal. Way to go “me”! When breakfast was over our teacher was reading the textbook and we had to complete the outline. Before Science was over our teacher told us that next Thursday there was going to be a field trip to the Bronx University where we have to hear a speech from a man who survived the Holocaust. 

 The holocaust was a very serious time during World War 2. Apparently Adolf Hitler killed over 6,000,000 million Jews were killed, but not just Jews.  There were also African Americans and people who were diseased or had disabilities. In ELA I was surprised at what I did. Me and two other kids were supposed to peer edit and that is exactly what we did. However I was taking too much time because everyone else was already starting their publishing and I wrote nothing. So of course my goal was to finish the publish in 45 minutes and you know something? I did. That is why you should always never doubt yourself.

After ELA is going to be the last thing I’ll talk about. Math. Math is obviously one of my favorite subjects because of how easy a problem can be if you just put your mind into the problem. For Math today we had to take a computer test. The test was for Topic Two of what my class was learning. In my opinion it was kind of easy. The thing that really made me angry was that there were only 12 questions and that means the more each question is worth. My score was 96% because one of my answers was partially correct. My friend was also pretty angry because he got a 90% and missed a question. The kids at my group got a 72% and an 80%. I’m just glad it seemed easy to me.

Post 2

At school today I had a lot of fun. Well maybe not fun. More focused is what I would say. Anyway before school even started I had to do my usual morning routine. Wake up in the morning and brush teeth. Then I obviously change my clothes and eat breakfast. Since my dad was dropping my sister I was able to read one of the books my dad got from the library. When he came back it was almost time for me to head to my bus stop. However we both just talked about my classes instead. When we finished chatting the time was 8:07 so him and me ran to the bus stop. Then I got worried, the bus wasn’t coming. Fortunately for me the bus made another turn and I got on it.

When I reached school the first thing I did was try to look in the lost and found. My sweater wasn’t there. Thats why I headed to class and ate the school breakfast. The breakfast at m school is actually pretty balanced and many kids eat school breakfast instead of at home. Today for breakfast, each kid got 8 waffles in a bag to eat and one carton of milk. After breakfast first period was art. We took a test on the artist we were studying. When Art finished Science was up next. For Science I just wrote some flashcards and watched the video that the teacher showed us. It was pretty fun and I fell I got a lot accomplished.

ELA was my next class and one of my favorites. The reason its one my favorite is because I can actually write the neatest I want and have extra time to complete other assignments. You see most of the time ELA is double periods so I have 90 minutes instead of just 45. In my opinion the school made a good choice about this. The thing I don’t get is why the teachers made Science and Social Studies only 45 minutes. Are those classes less important or something? I don’t know what this school is doing. In ELA I completed my five paragraphs essay and talked to some of my friends. Tomorrow I even get to work with two other kids on publishing the essay.

After ELA my class had Math. For Math the teacher reviewed our homework and told us to answer our review questions in the workbook. Nothing really exciting happened after that. When Math was done our next period was on Character Education. I know must of you guys in other schools might think, “What is Character Education?”. Well Character Education about the core values that my school has. This month we have respect, but next month we may have honesty or compassion. Who knows? Anyway today for Character Education we got to ahem some fun. The reason is because every end of the month the teacher lets us play a game like bingo and we get prizes.

After Character Education my class had lunch and recess. At lunch the school gave us a beef patty with bread, carton of milk, mashed potatoes, and a fruit cup. I honesty don’t know why beef patties were even invented. Its only good when it has ketchup and lettuce with cheese. Something, you know. Luckily fr the school they give ketchup with the patties and bread. When Lunch was over I headed t the playground with my friends. We had some fun together until I had to run away. The reason was because they were asking about my sweater that I was wearing. You see my mom apparently got it as a gift and the sweater said “#Bendellgirls”. That is the name of the company that made it. Later on I just let them look at it because recess was over. The End

Yesterday I had a fun time, today i’ll talk about some of the things I did yesterday and talk about the new book I’m reading, its called “ The Worst Night Ever ”. Now lets begin. One thing I did yesterday was get  on my Ps4. Unfortunately I only got to play two hours because my sister was using my mom’s phone and my mother wanted to watch the TV I was using to play my game. Thats why I decided to go downstairs to the basement with my aunt and use her phone until 1:00 P.M. It was time to do my homework.

At 1:00 P.M I started my homework. As usual I had to read a book and write 5 paragraphs about that book or anything else. The book that I read was called “ The Time Warp Trio, Summer Reading is Killing Me!”. Thats the same book I wrote about yesterday. I won’t talk about it because I already wrote about half of it. The next thing I did was wait for my father. He was at work and I expected him to come late, but he didn’t. Well technically speaking he was supposed to back at 3:00 P.M. When he came he told me to put on my clothes.

At first I didn’t change my clothes because I was finishing the work he gave me, but after that I started. Unfortunately because I couldn’t find any of my good shoes, I had to use my mother’s boots, but at first were actually supposed to be mine. The thing was, the boots were really tight so I couldn’t movie my toes. When I got outside to help my dad he was already done, but let me play on our front yard with all the snow and it was still snowing! Then of course my sister comes in while I’m having so much fun and ruins my castle that I built out of snow.

After that my dad grabbed the salt bag and threw it on the floor and since I’ve never tried it before. It would be a new experience. Turns out it was pretty boring. Just grabbing some salt that I thought was cool, but then it turns out the salt only hits one spot and doesn’t melt more snow. In addition to that the salt would stick to my hand. Then the worst part came. I was playing with my sister when one of my gloves fell off. Then I couldn’t put back in because of how painful it was so I just went back inside the house and waited for my dad and sister. However another problem came along.

Since my hand was so cold I wasn’t strong enough to take off my boots or because the boots were just so tight. Probably the second one. Then I called my dad to help me, but he completely ignored me and gave me his disappointed face. Later on my hands weren’t as cold and I was able to pull out the boots. After the boot incident me, my sister, and father watched a movie. The first one was “Cinderella”, but afterward we watched “Inside Out”.

Thats everything I did yesterday. Now I will talk about the book I read today. “It is called “The Worst Night Ever”. This book is all about a kid named Wyatt Palmer who enters a high school called “ Coral Cove High”. During middle school for him he was practically a hero. For whatever reason he apparently broke the collarbone of the president of the U.S. However as bad as it seems, he was treated like a hero and everyone liked him. Now he’s just a freshman in High School he hopes to be treated like everyone else.

During High School he finds out about the strictest person in the solar system, Ms. Stinger. She practically gives out 25 detentions everyday. Thats probably a world record. Wyatt found out that one day, before he came here, a student pulled a prank at Ms. Stinger. He/she put a dummy from the science lab on a chair and died the tie of the dummy so that Ms. Stinger would notice it as a violation of the school. She constantly screamed at the teacher wanting him to turn around. Suddenly the dummy jumped right in front of Ms. Stinger and in front of the dummy there was a note saying, “April Fools”.

A giant chicken was on the loose and looked directly at the three of them Sam, Fred, and Joe. The giant chicken looked very mad. Almost devilish, and speak of the devil, you’ll see him pretty soon in the story. As it angrily walked toward the trio Sam and Fired asked Joe to do a magic trick because in every other situation that had happened whenever Joe said he would do magic the three of them were saved, and today he proved just that. However it wasn’t intentional. Joe just stood there when suddenly the giant chicken ran away from them.

The three of them don’t know why.

Before we continue the story I’ll tell you how they got into this mess. Apparently Sam, Joe, and Fred were in Joe’s room just thinking about what they were going to do for their summer vacation. Then Sam reminded them that they had to do the summer reading list. 4 books and have to write about 2 of them. While reading the list of books Fred was naming all of the skateboard tricks the three of them could learn this summer. After a while Joe was looking at the book and shutting the two of them up. After doing so a cloud of green mist covered Joe’s room and they traveled to Hoboken.

Then Sam remembered something that would confuse all three of them. He reminded Joe and Fred about the first book he read on the list, it was called “Hoboken Chicken Emergency”. Sam told the two of them that this is how the story goes. There’s this boy who gets a 260 pound living chicken for his birthday. Then  giant chicken abandons the boy and arrives at the park to play. Then the chicken runs as fast as he can past the fence. Thats exactly what just happened which means that the three of them were inside a book! 

It must have been because Sam read the whole list of books for summer, and as usual the only way to get out of the event they were trapped in was to find “The Book”. “The Book” was small book covered with blue lines that Joe got for his birthday from his Uncle. Apparently because his uncle was a magician Joe was given a magical item because whenever he reads the book or opens it he gets sent to a random event, past, or future. Now the trio needed to find “The Book”. Fortunately for Fred he found the answer.

The spider from “Charlette’s Web” wrote on a message from it’s web. The message said “The Library”, the only problem was, where was the library? Obviously the spider wrote that answer too and the three of them headed toward the location the spider had said. Then while walking Sam realized if Charlette’s Web was also here that meant every single character from the list was in Hoboken. Suddenly the trio found a bunch of evil characters from the books that they said from the list head to their location, the library…..
