Unfortunately, I wasn't able to post yesterday because of the Internet problem. Apparently, my mom didn't pay the bill so we couldn't use the internet. That was why you didn't see the post yesterday (papa). Because of that, I couldn't go on youtube and really "use" my free time. Thankfully, my dad had let me watch Ted Talk on the "Podcast" app. Anyway, let's begin at the start of the day! I got up at 6:00 A.M and turned off the alarm. Then rushed over to my sister and woke her up. I didn't know that my father would be off on Wednesday but it was probably because on Tuesday he went for work. I ran downstairs to the bathroom and started changing into my school clothes (don't usually change that earlier but it was my father). I wanted to show my dad that I knew how to tie my tie.

However, he didn't approve and did it his own way. The way I learned it was from a  2-minute video on Youtube. After the "fixed" my tie I went back down to the bathroom and brushed my teeth. My mother bought 3 new toothbrushes for me, my sister, and dad. I told her not to throw away my father's brush because he might not have wanted the new one. I wasn't going to risk him getting mad, especially with the blood pressure. For breakfast, he made the same egg sandwich as usual (whenever he has a day off). I actually kind of wanted cereal but of course didn't argue. At 8:00 A.M I said goodbye to my parents and left the house. There wasn't any point of going to the deli-grocery store since I had no money.

Once I got to the school there were only a few kids in the class. That meant that my bus was probably the first ones. That just really confuses me because we got to the school at 8:39 A.M and usually that is late. In addition, every other day besides this the other buses come before us. Maybe there was a traffic jam and the bus had to take a detour, that would explain it. The other kids who were already in the class probably were dropped off at 8:30 A.M and came inside. The first period was Social Studies and the teacher talked about a kid named "Oda Benga" (now dead) who was brought to America from Africa and taken to the St. Louis World Fair. Apparently, Oda Benga was taken back to Africa and then was taken back to be part of the "Bronx Zoo".

He was put in an exhibit with Orangutans and Chimpanzees. The name of the Exhibit was called, 'The Missing Link". This "title" referred to him as an example of a caveman and the "white" man. He was put in the exhibit as some sort of evidence to prove what came before white people. It must have felt really bad to actually be a human like everyone else but still treated differently because of the way he looked. But I guess that was how all blacks were treated back at the time. Soon enough he was taken to a location (forgot the name) and got good care from the people there. Unfortunately, Oda Benga committed suicide from a gun at the age of 33(either pistol or rifle). The even worse thing was how he knew the English language (scarcely) and could understand what the people were saying as they saw him (at the Bronx Zoo).

Google News

I really feel bad for this man to be treated so badly as a child. They fed him just like they would to the monkeys. His parents were both killed in tribal warfare (back in Africa). I wonder how this information was known. This guy must have shared out or known English. Otherwise, it seems impossible for the explorers at the time to find out about this. Maybe they saw in action his parents get killed and decided to take him to America for that reason. Either way, it's sad and represents what Americans were like at the time. For the news, I wanted to share something really exciting! A new hero came out in "Overwatch"! She is called, "Bridgette) and is a tank. I can't wait to play her and see if she becomes a character I enjoy playing! Anyway, that is it for today's post!

Today there was something bad that happened and then something good that happened. Both of them were in the same period, by the way. Anyway, let's begin with the post! Once my aunt left to drop my sister I started getting ready for school. The first thing I did was have breakfast because I need that boost of energy in order to get through the day. The breakfast wasn't cereal or eggs. But instead "Whole" milk and mini bagels. That's right, just yesterday my mother bought plain mini bagels and whole grain mini bagels. I've only tasted the "plain" version so when that's finished I'll try the whole grain. Afterwards, I put on my school uniform. Since I had already taken a shower yesterday and my hair was satisfactory for me I skipped it (usually I take it today, Wednesday, and Friday).

At 8:00 A.M I left the house to my bus stop. Unfortunately, because I had no money going to the deli grocery store wasn't an option. Before leaving the house I grabbed a mini bagel because they were just so good. If I had somehow brought milk then it would have tasted so much better. While on the bus I was reading "The Dark is Rising". From now on I will take every opportunity to read this book because every week there is another chapter quiz. My ELA teacher doesn't like to give multiple different tests so instead, he just gives us one quiz every day on this book. Something that really bothers me is how my Grammer teacher has to give my class a quiz next week on Pronouns which she says we haven't reviewed yet.

When I say "has" I mean that she is forced to. The teacher explained to us that she doesn't want to give the quiz because she says we haven't gone to in depth with it. That is why the quiz she gives us won't be as hard. This is something I don't get. Aren't the middle school teachers allowed to have their own curriculum? Isn't that why my Social Studies teacher barely ever goes into the textbook? That was also another one of my highlights of the day, (separate from what I was talking about) during Social Studies class my teacher said we had an assembly. The first time we went to attend the assembly another group of kids were still having theirs. That was why we stayed in our Science teacher's classroom. Then after waiting another ten minutes, the speaker said we could enter the multi-purpose room.

I think I'm going to skip towards what happened during Math class. You see, (this is the bad thing) when my teacher entered there was a "Do Now" on the board. In case you don't know the "Do Now" is something the teacher puts up at the start of class. It is usually about 2 or three questions on a lesson you've already done. At first, when I saw the questions I knew they were from the previous topic and immediately started answering them. The teacher gave us kids an extra 2 minutes complete the problem and I did just in time. Here is the bad thing, for each question (two questions) there are three answer choices. The first is A, B, and C. The second is X, Y, and Z. When I answered the second question I put B instead of Y because I thought the answer choices for the second one were the same for the first one.

Google News

The teacher said that if you get both questions right it is an extra credit point to your final grade. That is one WHOLE point! Before realizing I mixed up the answer choices I asked my friend and we both got the same thing. So I knew I was right! When I told the teacher about this she literally told me, "I don't know what to tell you". What she SHOULD'VE DONE gives me back the paper so I could rewrite the letter and get the extra credit point. But NOOOOOOOOO. This just from now on makes me hate this teacher. She is almost as bad as my Social Studies one, or even worse... MY SPANISH TEACHER! Anyway, still have to go ahead and write on the story. This story is about overwatch and shows the drawing skills a very talented artist. She was able to create an Orisa "Chinese New Year Skin" since "Blizzard" (Overwatch's creators) didn't think of this.

I've decided that for today's post I'm just going to talk about yesterday. It's not a hard topic and hopefully is long enough to fit 4 paragraphs. When I woke up it was actually around 8:00 A.M. I heard my sister and dad watching a video in his room. Because there was nothing for me to do I quietly headed over to their room. There, I got into the covers and watched the video with them. The "video" they were watching was on the "Ellen Show". Ellen was pretending to be one of those touring guides. Everyone was in one vehicle and the tourists were in the back. Ellen (fake tourist guide) and the driver (who was also part of the act) continued to look around and spot unimportant things. The tourists were laughing and two of them knew that it sounded like "Ellen".

In the end, she finished off the tour saying "Even though we couldn't find any famous people, you still have me" (I'm pretty sure it was something close to that). Then Ellen proceeded to walk out of the car and say hi to the nice people at the back of the vehicle. They took pictures of Ellen before driving off to another destination (mystery). It was a pretty funny video be honest. My father clicked on another video relating to the "Ellen Show". We only got through 3 minutes of it because my dad didn't like it. The man in the video was recording himself asking Ellen for help. He knew that Ellen helps people (he didn't know for a mischievous intent) and asked if she could help his daughter. The girl was probably in her teens and cussing to people in their cars (not at the father).

The man said that his daughter was falsely put in prison (I forgot why) and mistreated there. The doctors tested a new drug on the girl without any authorization. As time went by the girl told the guards she needed to see the doctors because she wasn't feeling well, unfortunately, they did not answer her. A long time later, the doctors came to check up on the girl and found out she had some type of disease (tumor I think). That was as far as we got to the video.  After my dad told us to go downstairs and get ready for the day he gave my sister and me a choice. 1. Keep on with the initial plan to go downstairs or 2. Stay upstairs and eat breakfast there. Since the last time my sister and I ate upstairs (in bed) was a while ago we agreed with the second choice.

Right before he left to go downstairs my dad gave my sister and I some electronics to use. An iPad and his phone. I got the iPad which was better because it had a bigger screen. What I watched was mostly "Overwatch" and some of the favorite YouTubers. A new one called, "TheOddOneisOut" is all about animation videos. I really love the way he turns such simple subjects into hilarious content. One of his videos was about movies and he described ever a movie that disgusted him. From Disney movies to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Even a short part of the video was a sequel to "Charlette's Web". He didn't make the "sequel" but talked about one that he loved as a kid.

Google News

I know I was supposed to talk about the whole day but 4 paragraphs are four paragraphs. Can't go any higher than that. Besides, those two were my favorite yesterday anyway. Now let's get right into the news! The news that I found today was not on the "Suggested for You" page because it was about Murder. Why would they suggest me about murder? This 23-year-old man named, "Jeffrey Yao" was reported to have repeatedly stabbed a woman in Winchester. Many bystanders watched in fear and horror as the woman was stabbed. One old man (77 years old) tried to aid the victim before getting stabbed once as well. Soon, the bystanders became part of the issue and were able to sustain Jeffrey Yao before he escaped. This just rpoves that the world will never have peace. It's just unrealistic. Hate and anger are emotions that cannot so easily be forgotten. This is it for today's post.

Since I haven't gone outside today and probably won't because of the rain (coming soon) this post will about a book I'm reading called, "Open House". The book was written by "Elizabeth Berg" and is a novel. When my father first introduced me to this book I thought the title was also some type of TV show. However, when I tried to find out about it no information popped on the screen. Either way, I've read about a decent amount and like the story concept so far. That is why today I'm going to summarize what I've read from chapter 1-9 so hopefully, you enjoy.  But before I start summarizing let me give some background information on the author. "Elizabeth Berg" was born on December 2, 1948, and an American novelist (as you should already know).

Summary of Chapters 1-9

Samantha Morrow is the main character of "Open House" or the "Protagonist". I don't know whether Protagonist is the correct word because usually, you use that in fiction books. Anyway, let's begin! The book starts off with the devastating info that Samantha's (Sam for short) husband no longer wants to continue their marriage. And you should know that when two adults don't want to be together anymore its more or less going to be a divorce. The husband's name is David and he leaves their 11-year-old son "Travis" to Samantha. The first day after their divorce Sam tries to start fresh. She makes a new fancy breakfast and puts on her bathrobe to collect the newspaper. Travis reluctantly walks downstairs into the kitchen and asks for the regular "Cheerios" (a cereal brand).

Samantha tries to explain the divorce situation and how she wants to start fresh. It seems as though Travis does understand because later in the story he tells Samantha he's known the whole time. Samantha is disappointed that her own son just won't listen to her. She expects him to do exactly what she says but he wants to follow their regular routine back when David was still part of the family (living in the same house). Eventually when Travis goes to school Samantha decides to get back at David for leaving her and him (son). That is why she goes out and fins a kind salesman and his partner. They are selling tea sets and all types of jewelry. Apparently, Sam suddenly has a type of wanting for expensive tea sets so she gets the most expensive (including a dessert spoon)set and a gold bracelet.

While going back home she sees a mother and her baby asking people for a job or money. Since Samantha never actually needed the gold bracelet (she has gotten many from David himself back when they were still engaged) she decided to be compassionate and give the bracelet to the mother. At first, the mother is skeptical because no sane person would just hand a 3,000 dollar piece of jewelry like that, would they? However, Samantha explains she wants to hand it over tot he mother and her child if it will benefit them. At that point, the mother gratefully excepts it and tells her "God Bless You". Side note: when I read this it definitely showed a sign of compassion that many people would refuse to even believe in. The next time I don't a topic to write about this will be it.

Back to the Florida shooting crisis, there was a story about deputy's who didn't enter the school even though the shooter was inside. At the start of the story, it said that the Sheriff wasn't going to suspend or give any trouble to those deputy's accused unless the accusations were in fact true. At the end of the story, it was found that one of the deputies was in fact suspended for not entering the school. Since the deputy himself fit the requirements in order to retire he did that as soon as he found out the department had suspended him. I wonder what are the requirements in order to retire? You must be old right? In Social Studies my teacher put on a video about the Florida School shooting survivors on CNN against the NRA? I don't totally get what they were talking about in between but I do know the reason. It was to enforce gun control in the state of Florida. The girl who was speaking against the NRA representative was yelling and screaming although I agree with what she said yelling at someone who is older and has more experience should not be permitted in addition. It seemed like the whole audience actually witnessing this arguement were survivors themselves so it wasn't really. Anyway, that is it for today's post!

Today was the day of my field trip to Montclair University! I really enjoyed it for two reasons. It was the first field trip this year that I had gotten a chance to participate in. You see, the first two field trips were to Liberty Science Center (twice), unfortunately, both times I hadn't worn the correct uniform. Now there was a trip to the Food Bank of Jersey City, however, that wasn't as big and available to all students! Only a few kids wanted to go to the food bank anyway. This trip is something every kid wanted to go to. Well, I mean for my friend named Leandre. He told me that he didn't want to but in reality was because of his behavior. That was why today Leandre was absent.

I'm going to start from the beginning (home) because there isn't really a lot of stuff to say about the trip besides how amazing it was! I woke up at 6:00 A.M but immediately went back to sleep. It was at 6:14 A.M that I struggled to get up and wake my sister. She herself didn't want to get up for another two minutes so I walked downstairs to the playroom. For breakfast, the two of us had cereal which was Cinnamon Cereal. I know that the cereal isn't special but it is just so good! It's marvelous! The bowl that I had wasn't an antique but it was still breakable so I used caution. At 8:00 A.M I again said bye to my aunt and left the house. Since in my bag was $2 I rushed over to the deli-grocery store. The man there knows my order because its what I normally get.

At school, we weren't going to have the first period due to the time in which the bus would come. My teacher thankfully put on a movie that I had already watched! The good thing is that I generally like the plot, characters, and jokes in it. So there was no need to complain when he put it on. The other choice besides "Guardians of The Galaxy Volume 2" (movie) was "Pirates of the Caribbean". But of course, the superhero movie won unanimously! It was PG-13 but as you should read know I just turned 13. Apparently, "PG-13" means "Parental Guidance"? I don't understand why? I've seen a bunch of 12-year-olds (was one) and their parents weren't worried about them at all. The one rated "R" movie I watched was "Deadpool". My excuse was that the protagonist is extremely funny!

I only have one paragraph so let me start talking about this trip. The bus ride to there wasn't bad at all. I was in a three seater with "Lawrencelie" (best friend) and "Vincent" (friend). We just played games like "Never Have I ever" and "Truth or Dare". The $5 needed to go on the trip was for "skating rentals" and "time to skate". The people there gave us kids 2 full hours to skate as much as we wanted. During that time you could take a break from skating and go eat your lunch. Since I got two butter rolls that were something I definitely ate! My friends gave me french fries topped with cheese and two pieces of chicken tenders. So to end it all off, the food there was amazing! IF only I knew there was a humongous concession stand! When I first started skating I felt extremely surprised.

Google News

I thought that it was going to be pretty easy and eventually I would get it. It is true that I got the hang of it eventually. Unfortunately, it took quite a while. One of my friends told me to pretend and me like this "Overwatch" (favorite game) character called, "Lucio". As you can see from the picture, at the bottom of his model are roller skates. After I learned how to fully ice skate one of my friends asked me for help. Then another, and another. It felt so good to help others on something I myself had immense trouble on! That was it for the day, hope you guys enjoy! The news that I read was about "Overwatch League" signs. The first "tragedy" was about "Torbjorn" wall climb. You don't need to know anything about him besides the fact that he isn't supposed to wall climb. The second "tragedy" was about "Zenyatta" (Asian themed character Buddhist). Zenyatta is supposed to float but due to this sign saying, "Let Zenyatta walk" the creaters of Overwatch decided to do exactly that. And I swear, he looks like a robotic monkey in baggy pants! Anyway, that is all for today's post!

I woke up at exactly 6:00 A.M but immediately slept for another 30 minutes. Thankfully, my sister heard the alarm before I turned it off and went downstairs to get ready. At around 6:30 A.M I walked downstairs to see her putting school clothes. The note that my father left was mostly saying the usual stuff. Like "Be careful when crossing the road, wear jacket or sweater, don't miss the bus". However, at the bottom of the paper, it said not to take the chocolates from yesterday. You see, yesterday I came home and my sister told me to close my eyes. Trying not to be impolite I did as told and discovered about 6 bags each filled with some Valentine chocolates. I didn't like them so my sister ate what she gave to me. That doesn't mean that I didn't want to give some to my friends.

After my aunt dropped my sister and it was 8:00 A.M I said bye to her and left the house. The bus came at 8:15 A.M so I had nothing to worry about. While being driven to school (on the bus) I finished reading the 10th chapter of my school book called, "Dark is Rising". Today was the day of my quiz. I want to do really good on it because I know that quizzes can boost your grade by a point or two. Once I got to my classroom there were a few kids talking to each other about the trip (to be honest they weren't but it's an excuse to talk about the field trip). Tomorrow, there is going to be a field trip to Montclair State University. You have to pay $5 in order to go. I don't get why you have to pay money if its only for the skating rink. Why can't some kids go without ice skating?

Now, that doesn't mean I don't want to go ice skating. Because believe me! This is something I've been meaning to do for a while. Back when I always went to New York there would be this huge ice skating rink that my dad and I saw. However, because the line was always too long we couldn't go. In addition, we had no ice skates to use. Going tomorrow would be a great experience for me! Back to the school day though! The first period was Science and my class was finishing our outline. We got an assignment that was due on Monday but I had already finished it before class was over. Next period was P.E and I fairly enjoyed it. We were continuing to add more moves to our "Step".

I'm not going to explain what a "Step" or "Stepping" is because it already been mentioned in my previous posts. Although today was very fun I honestly wished to do the pacer test. This is a test which you constantly run back and forth in the gym. The highest in the school so far (last year) is 144. My highest is 134! Hopefully, when I do it this time my school will be a bit higher. Every year I have been making extremely good process. From my 54 in 4th grade to my 80 in 5th grade, all the way to my 134 in the 6th grade. A 140 will be enough for me. I also learned something about the step my class is doing. I should have already known this but the step we are doing isn't original. No wonder my teacher can do it so well!

Google News

Anyway, that is it for today! First off, the "Overwatch" league "Stage 2" started yesterday and I'm super excited! Hopefully, my favorite team (Shanghai Dragons) can do a lot better! An interesting fact, my favorite team in the league is actually Chinese! I only like them because of their logo, DPS players, and color. The logo a dragon as you can see from the picture. I really like the whole dragon thing. The color scheme for the characters are red and yellow or red and white. Its honestly really cool! Unfortunately, the red and yellow are the only colors you can use. Now for their "DPS" players. When I say this you'll probably only understand if you play the game. The "Attack" heroes or characters that are supposed to do a lot of damage. Anyway, that is all for today's post.

Wednesday, February 21, 2018

Finally, the President day break is over! I'm not actually happy about it but there is nothing I can do about it. For the first time in a while, the alarm clock rang and I turned it off without going to sleep as soon as I was done! Quietly, I put on my sweater before going to my dad's room. Their my sister was sleeping, so my instinct was to turn on the lights and wait for her to get up. By the time she did it was around 6:10 A.M. Yes! It took her that long just to wake up! Anyway, the both of us walked downstairs to the kitchen where we ate breakfast and got ready. My sister made a bet with me to see whether or not there was a "Stop, Drop, and Check". Let me explain what that it. Basically, at school the teachers sometimes have a "Stop, Drop, and Check" where they check to see if the students are wearing the correct uniform.

If they are then the kids get a free dress down the following day. Just to speed things up I'm going to skip to the "Homeroom" at school. Before "First Period" there is a "Homeroom" where kids eat breakfast and talk to their classmates. It's literally like a "Dinner" but shorter and without food. I mostly spend this period briefly talking to my friends about "Overwatch" (favorite game) and then getting ready for the day. Fortunately, today the school gave corn muffins and a carton of milk. Usually, the muffin is blueberry (for some reason I've started to not like blueberry items, blueberry yogurt is an exception because it's so good) and really easy to break. My friend gave me a small bouncy ball but I didn't want it. That was my Homeroom for you!

The first period was Social Studies and the teacher said that today was Malcolm X's 54th anniversary (assassination not birthday). To be completely honest I wasn't very interested in it. Martin Luther King Jr was a much better "role model" or "important" person. His approach was towards non-violence and followed Mahatma Gandhi's teachings. The funny thing is, both of these "leaders" had a type of inspiration. Obviously, you already know Martin Luther King's Inspiration but Malcolm X's was Muhammad Ali. In my opinion, Non-Violence is a much better approach towards things. Malcolm X used violence and really wanted to make the white people know that blacks or "negroes" weren't scared of them at all. Something that my Social Studies teacher really irritated me about was how we had a quiz!

Now you may be thinking that Rinchen is just being lazy and everything. Well... I'm NOT! This man tells us that we have a quiz yet he barely ever goes into the textbook. I swear he's been talking about something in the textbook once this whole month! Literally almost every day we go on about present events and briefly touch these amazing Black Americans. I'm just kidding guys, I don't really blame him for anything considering how he's been trying to make this whole experience fun for us teachers. However, I can see why other schools have fired him. Our's lets him talk about whatever he wants as long as it sticks to the curriculum (it doesn't). Before I finish this paragraph I want to talk about Health. During Health there was a substitute because the regular teacher had to go to a wedding.

The Social Studies part was all a joke so there is no need to make the teacher seem bad.

Google News

That doesn't mean we learned nothing. The substitue put on a movie called, "Food Inc" that talks about real like food corporations that handle "Poultry, Pork, and other types of meat" (also corn). So far, my class has finished the pultry part of the video and are disgusted by how the chickens are raised! They literally dump the chickens and send them off to a farm. Then once they are grown enough (48 days) workers come at around midnight to take them (violently). It usually resorts to just grabbing by the feet which is still pretty bad, unfortunately one of the workers even kicked the chicken so it would go inside the cage. I put this in the Google News section because technically people around the world are still talking about this. Something has to be done to these food corporations!

Tuesday, February 20, 2018

I want to talk about what I did today! I woke up at around 8:00 A.M and was surprised to see my dad in his bed. I thought that he usually gets a day off during Thursday. He may have decided to take a day off today because it was the last day before my school's break is over. You see because yesterday was President's Day school my school gave the students a day off for today and tomorrow. I know for a fact that most kids only get one day off on that was yesterday. The kids at my school deserve this because almost every other holiday we never got a break-off. Now that I think of it, the only holiday no school should take a day off from is Valentines because it's not even that popular. Did you know I asked my teacher if the man who created Valentine's day was like St. Nicholas.

I walked downstairs to the bathroom to start brushing my teeth. My sister came down a few minutes later and brushed her teeth as well. My father came down about 7 minutes later when I was beginning to read my book. In case you don't know (you should) the book was called, "Trials of Apollo: The Dark Prophecy". It is made by Rick Riordan. Read yesterday's post for some brief background information on the book. Anyway, for breakfast, my father had made egg fried rice, with some bits of meat to top it all off. All in all, it was pretty good and I really enjoyed it. Once all three of us finished eating the food my dad suggested we go outside. As usual, I wasn't crazy about the idea but knew it couldn't be helped. So because he was the adult we got ready and left the house.

My dad took us to Journal Square and we got on a train to 33rd Street (New York). Apparently, we haven't gone to "Times Square" in "YEARS" (he exaggerated it) so that was where we headed towards. While walking I saw a bunch of people wearing full bodysuits that consisted of a Disney character. Every time there was a kid or man with camera literally every single one of them ran towards that person and begged for a picture. It wasn't begging but more like continuously asking the person until he/she nicely said, "No". The main reason I'm talking about this is that it happened to me and my sister. An Elmo mascot saw my sister walked over. He clearly wanted to take a picture but my sister almost started crying. She was scared of how creepy they were. And believe me, I don't blame her at all!

For Lunch, we all ate at Mc'Donalds and I really liked it. My order was this, "A Big Mac with Vanilla Milkshake, please". Do you wanna know something? According to Mc'Donalds standards, they have three different types of Big Macs. The "Mac Jr.", "Big Mac" (what I ordered", and "The Grand Mac". Guess what I got? You were probably going to say "Big Mac". You were sadly mistaken. Instead of what I ordered they gave me a "Grand Mac". It was twice the size of a "Big Mac" and 4 times the size of a "Mac Jr.". The last thing we did before going back home was to a Disney Store. It had a bunch of toys and pieces of clothing for dolls and kids alike. I was really disappointed that there wasn't a "Mulan" section. "Mulan" was a Japenese girl who wanted to become a samurai because her father was.

The Overwatch League was something that really caught my attention as it started. The first "stage" (part) of it had already finished and "London Spitfire" (favorite team besides "Shanghai Dragons) won $100,000. That must have been pretty epic for them considering how they hadn't been winning at the start of the stage. It was a comeback of the ages! Besides that, my real favorite team "Shanghai Dragons" have made some pretty satisfying roster changes. No players have been dropped but 4 new ones have joined the team. They are all Koreans but one is a female. This marks the first female player to ever compete in a tournament as big as this in history! It really shows some spotlight for the team. Unfortunately, all of the Korean members will have to actually learn Chinese so they can communicate with the team. In addition, they won't be able to play until the mid of stage 1. This is because of problems with the visa. That is all for today's post.

Monday, February 19, 2018

I've decided that for today's post I am going to be typing about "Trials of Apollo"! All I've done today is wake up, eat breakfast, read my book (can't type because the keyboard wasn't available), and play some games with my sister (not electronic). Anyway, let's begin! Apollo (the protagonist or main character) is in search for the oracles and saving them from the Triumvirate. There are three Roman emperors that are trying to conquer the world for themselves. The only way they are still living is because people still know about them or "they haven't been forgotten". Especially when the internet came! Now all mortals have to do is type their name and boom! You can find them on any internet source. Besides Apollo, he has three companions at his side.

One of them is Leo Valdez, a demigod from the previous book that volunteered to help Apollo back at Camp Half-Blood. Two, Calypso, she is Leo Valdez's girlfriend so of course, she came. The woman was actually a sorceress put on an island by the gods. It's basically a prison because she couldn't escape unless someone else helped her. Thankfully, Leo
Valdez rescued her from the "prison" and here she is now. Unfortunately, Calypso's powers back on the island have disappeared and she needs to practice so they can come back to her. Third, Leo Valdez's bronze dragon, "Festus" is the name of the creature. I decided to call this "creation" made by Leo a companion because without it the 3 of them couldn't reach Indianapolis, let me explain.

You see, Apollo is set on a journey to find the oracles and is traveling to each state in order to do so. So far, they have been to about 5 states (one of them including Jersey City). Leo has never seen Festus so enraged at the sight of a state! The bronze dragon literally burned the flagpole! Anyway, finding the oracles aren't the only reason Apollo has set on this journey. Back in the first book, Apollo had a companion called, "Meg" who was apparently his master. When Apollo was cast down from the heavens as a mortal he knew that the first demi-god who noticed him was his master. That was a rule made by Zeus. But of course, he's never been sent to the mortal world because he's the leader of Mount Olympus! Meg was the first demi-god he met and also the daughter of Demeter!

That was the reason he picked her to be his master, also including the fact she had to be his master... Either way, Meg betrayed Apollo by leaving him for one of the Roman Emperors. As of what I know, that Roman Emperor has tricked her into thinking there was some type of "Beast". He did something to Meg father (assassination) and said the "beast" had killed him. Don't worry, later on in the book Meg realizes this and leaves the Roman Emperor (Nero) to come back to Apollo. The whole story is really just amazing and I love the way it is played out. I went on "Wikipedia" and discovered that the 3rd book for this serious is coming on "May" of 2018. Books must really take a long time to make. To see, "James Patterson" have about 8 books in one of his series's is pretty amazing!

I kind of want to talk about the "Florida Shooting" because my teachers and the school were addressing it as well. This one story talked about a kid named, "Anthony" who apparently body blocked the shots of the gunman in order for his classmates to all get inside the room. The kid suffered wounds on the back and the leg. That must take some serious determination and compassion. He put the lives of others has mandatory before himself. If this guy was trying to be a hero he did a pretty good job! The sheriff even went to the hospital to meet him. Because of Anthony many kids suffered no injuries and were okay. I wish him good luck on his surgery and hope he gets okay. Another story I read talked about the survivors wanted to enforce better "gun control". Anyway, that is it foe today's post. Until next time!

Yesterday, my dad, sister, and I went outside to Newport Mall. Now I can't say I had the "best" time but it sure was fun! However, let's begin at the very beginning. I woke up at 7:30 A.M and walked downstairs. My dad and sister and were talking in his bed (I know this because I could hear them) so I tried to brush my teeth fast. Apparently, today was "Losar 1" or whatever. My parents told me that on Friday was the start of Tibetan New Year and for some reason "Lunar New Year " (Chinese) are had there's the same day. Fortunately, my dad informed me that this is because both have the same calendar. For breakfast, my father made two plates each with an egg sandwich. I didn't know which one to eat because one of them had two slices of bread while the other only had one.

In the end, I took the one with two slices since the other "sandwich" should have been easier for my sister. I turned on my PlayStation and got to play for about 30 minutes. Then, my dad said he was going to take my sister and me outside. At first, I didn't know where but as we got closer and closer I realized our location. Before getting inside the car I heard my sister say she was going to take her gift card for my birthday. My father had given me two gift cards since it had been my birthday but I tried to be nice and gave one of them to my mom. The other one said "$25-$500" so I decided to take it with me to the mall. While heading towards the mall my dad put on some music like "Havana" which is a pretty good song by the way!

After parking the car my father wanted to go to Bed Bath and Beyond! I know what you're saying and I agree. Every time we go there my dad never buys anything! It's not even a joke! The only thing he does is take pictures of the paintings sold there! Then we spend 30 minutes slowly walking around the whole store browsing for stuff we will never buy...However, today must've been different because my dad bought a pack of baby wipes and a Hershey's Bar (I asked for). When we left the store I immediately opened the wrapping and dove in for a bite. Unfortunately, my father took it away from me before I got a piece and split it in half! Now you would've thought that I had gotten mad but I was pretty happy. You see, I started to not like the chocolate so I threw it in the garbage (there was barely anything anyway).

According to my sister, we were going to the mall because she needed some new clothes. When I found out about that I was ready to just yell at her. My sister wanted to go to Kohls but we headed towards Macy's and H'M before. It also took a while trying to find Kohls because my she and my dad were constantly going everywhere. After m sister got about 5 pieces of clothing my dad said I could get a shirt and pant. Since my mother had already bought me jeans a while ago my dad lets me buy two shirts instead. I really wanted to get a sweater but he said I already had so much. You should know papa that only one of my sweaters is comfortable and large enough for me to wear. I'm getting bigger! That was mainly what I did yesterday. My dad used my sister and I's gift cards so that he could pay less money. Seems like a waste to me.

The story I read today was about "Overwatch". I know I know, I keep on talking about Overwatch. Well, it's my favorite game so deal with it! The story or post was called, "Overwatch is having a 'Puppy Rumble' to celebrate It's 'Year of the Dog' event"! I think this is really cool. On Twitter "Bizzard" released a 28-second video on it and I thought it looked pretty cool. It is either going to be some type of mini-game where the characters are replaced with dogs or a puppy fashion show featuring every dog as a type of hero. I think that the "game" one is much more cool and to see something like that would be really amazing. Just think a moving payload and the characters are actually dogs! That is it for today's post!

Just yesterday something very horrifying happened in Florida. However, I will talk about it later. As for now, I'm going to start at 8:00 A.M. My aunt was sleeping on the couch so I quickly said goodbye to her and left the house. Once I got to the bus stop there were about 4 kids already there. The bus was no delayed and came at around 8:14 A.M. While waiting for it to reach the school I started reading the book my father bought me. Not the manga one, but the book called, "Trials of Apollo". I like where the storyline is going. Apollo explains everything that happened in the previous book so new readers don't get confused with any of the details. Immediately, Apollo and his two companions, Calypso and Leo, set out to find the second Oracle.

Anyway, as I was walking towards my class a few kids were waiting near the door. I'm assuming there wasn't any teacher inside of the class which is why they were still outside. Fortunately, a few seconds later Mr. Correa (my teacher) came through a set of doors and told us to go inside. The breakfasts were strawberry pancakes and a carton of milk. My teacher moved my seat to another row so that there was more space for kids to get through. I'm not that happy with the change considering how I liked my seat. At least I knew it wasn't because of my behavior. One of my friends gave me a small bouncy ball that I almost lost. Some other kid in my class grabbed a bunch cups filled with apple juice and poured them into his water bottle (no water inside).

The first period was Science and my teacher noticed how most kids were in dress down (not me because I didn't know) so when I put on my sweater he thought I paid (I didn't). We watched another BrainPOP (video) about genetics and even took a quiz. Then once the quiz was over the whole class read some pages in the textbook. Science quickly ended and                                                                         P.E came close behind. I feel kind of bad for the Basketball players because instead of P.E they have to take a Math exam. This is because when we are supposed to take the test the Basketball players will have already left for their game. Today my class had to do the pull-up test for our fitness exams. I really like the fitness exams because they test my physical strength, endurance, and flexibility.

As well as perseverance to try your hardest. And that was exactly what the gym teacher said before we started doing our pull-ups. I personally felt that I didn't do the best but still beat quite a few kids. When I say few kids I mean about 90% of my class. The other 10% did about 5, 10, or 15. I did 4 in total but a lot of kids did about 1 or even 0. Lunch was pretty boring and I really want to get to this next topic before the fourth paragraph is finished. After Lunch, my teacher announced there was going to be an all boys assembly. The main point of the assembly was to show a bunch of speakers from the same organization speaking about police officers and how they aren't bad. I expected something like "Sex Ed" because that what these assemblies are mostly about. However, this happened... I don't understand why the girls couldn't join the assembly. There were even 2 women speaking!

That was the highlight of my day! Now it is time to talk about Florida! You see, there was a shooting that happened in Florida. A high school was just casually well... Being a high school! Then suddenly, an intruder walks into the school and pulls the fire alarm. That makes every kid run out of their classrooms in a horrifying rampage. The school shooter intentionally did this to lure the kids toward him. That way he could kill them. A story from one of the kids was captured on the news. Apparently, he was running away just like his fellow classmates when a janitor stopped them. He directed the students towards the chef's office and they stayed there. He went out into the hallway to watch out for the intruder. Unfortunately, the man was shot and killed. The kid thanks him for saving the lives of almost 40 kids and tells the family of the janitor how much of a hero he was. That is it for today!

I woke up knowing that today I had to wear the Winter uniform. It is just so tight sometimes and feels kind of weird. The P.E uniform is much easier to put on and lets you feel very comfortable. Also, you don't have to worry about uniform code. You see the P.E uniform is just a shirt and pants. However, the Winter uniform involves a buttoned-up shirt, tie, belt, and pants. In addition, you have to tuck in your buttoned-up shirt at all times. While with the P.E uniform you can just leave it like that. Basically, if you miss any of those factors for the Winter uniform the teachers will give you a detention, yell at you, or give some other type of consequence. The "principal" named Ms. Link is probably the scariest person in the whole school. If she witnesses you without any of those "clothing" you definitely have a week of detention.

Anyway, sorry for ranting about the uniform. Thankfully, my aunt dropped my sister at her bus stop (again). I only have to do that when my father gets a day off (one day). At 8:00 A.M I said goodbye to my aunt and left to the bus stop. I got to the school at around 8:35 A.M so it wasn't late. The first period was Social Studies (I thought it was Science) and my teacher continued talking about everyday stuff (happening now), including racism. He told the class that one of his students asked why he always talks about "Racism". Apparently to him, racism is happening every day and we just can't avoid it. Something that confuses me is how rare we use the textbook. I know the teachers are allowed to have their own curriculum but when you don't use the textbook for about 4 weeks it starts getting to you.

The good thing is that we barely have homework or quizzes. When Social Studies was finished there was Community Circle. Before it happened my teacher wanted everyone to review our "college" cheer. The reason I did that to the word "College" was that it has nothing to do with college. I don't even know what college my teacher went to. Our "cheer" is basically a diss track. Where we insult other classrooms (more towards the students) and say how much better we are. Not a single "cheer" I've heard this year had anything to do with a college. Since Mr. Correa (my teacher) teaches 7D (more or less the worst class in the 7th grade) he knows how bad they are (in terms of grades) and called out them in the cheer.

I actually remember what the cheer was so let me say it.
"She said do you love me I tell her only partly, yo mama said ugly she'd disown ya I'm sorry,
(7A) We are the life of the party
And your below us, (7D) wishes they could be us,
You got bad grades and your breath stinks,
God's plan, God's plan (dramatic ending),".
The last part was actually pretty cringy since only half of the class did the dramatic ending and the rest were just standing like they don't know whats happening (me and my friends).

This post is about Overwatch and written by a man who plays the game himself. It is called, "Nearly Two years later, I still play 'Overwatch"- Here are 7 reasons why". I'm going to go by some of his reasons and explain them myself. 1, "The core of "Overwatch" is immensely enjoyable and well-designed". What this guy is trying to say is that Overwatch is very cartoony but serious at the same time. It's not like "Call of Duty" where everything looks so serious and real. The newest game for Call of Duty is called, "Call of Duty: World War 2" and it shows military soldiers fighting each other to the death. One of his other reasons is how "Overwatch is always growing". I truly believe in that, "Overwatch" has been released ever since 2016 and two years later is still played a lot. So far, they have remade several characters and added 5 new hereos to the game. Anyway, that is it for today!

Waking up today I realized my dad had a day off. So I slept for another 30 minutes before going downstairs. When I reached the kitchen my sister was brushing her hair and my dad was making breakfast. Unfortunately, he made oatmeal which is something I particularly don't like. Its just that oatmeal has no taste or flavor! At 7:12 A.M I took my sister to her bus stop. By the time we got there, it was about 7:15 A.M. No kids were there and the both of us were pretty bored. Soon some of her friends came but stayed with their parents. One of the adults said that the bus was going to come 15 minutes late and was pretty mad. The weather was kind of cold and I didn't feel like staying too long. At 7:40 A.M it came and I ran home.

My dad was finishing making some food that I don't know how to spell. It is basically a type of cracker but in my culture. I love it, especially when freshly baked. As the minutes go by the cracker isn't as good. Eventually its just hard with no "taste". At 8:00 A.M I walked over to my bus stop and didn't miss the stop. There were a few kids already there and the bus was in view. Slowly coming towards us, I walked over to the spot where it usually stops and waited for another 30 seconds because of the red stop light (it was stopping the bus). While being driven to school I read some pages of my book called, "Dark Is Rising" since there is a quiz during ELA class.

First period was Social Studies and about three kids came late because of the bus (not mine). The teaacher was talking about a man called, "Bengamin" who created a the first wooden moving clock that would work for over 50 years. The man was also black and many people ddiscriminated him. Then he made a joke talking about how he's explaining all of Benjamin's accomplishments while the textbook has a 3 sentence description of him. It was way funnier when he said it just to let you know. After Social Studies was P.E and I really wanted to finish learning the "Step". When I tried it the first time there seemed to be so many moves. However, today I was able to do the whole thing and really felt accomplished. I showed my dad and sister but they didn't really have a "great" reaction. Its just sad to see people who don't recognize what you've done. Anyway, the rest of the day wasn't as good.

Technology was okay because I was playing "Shell Shock Live 2" with my friend. Afterwards, I had Gifted and Talented. In Gifted and Talented there are two groups and each one has to make a well known structure with blocks and tak (sticky substance to hold the blocks together). My group still hasn't made anything because everytime we (mostly me) build it gets destroyed by some 6th graders or we want to start over. Since we had nothing I decided to make a sled. The group leader said I could because we didn't have anything done so far. However, one of the other kids in my group kept on destroying my structure (especially when I was almost done). He kept on saying I wasn't collabarting witht the group when we didn't have anything anyway.

Google News

Thankfully, my other groupmates backed me up saying I created practically every structure and he was the one that destroyed them all. Besides, that kid is always so negative and I never like his personality. Now its time for the news, my favorite "Overwatch" team called "Shangahi Dragons" are adding three new players into their roster. This includes female player "Geguri" who was called a hacker for prestigous performance in her livestreams. After proving she was just really good at zarya she was signed into the "Overwatch" team with two other South Korean players. All three of them will start learning Mandarin for the sake of team communication. That must feel pretty bad to have to learn a language in order to play a game. That is all for today, until next time.

Today I want to talk about my birthday! Or more specifically, what I did the day before my birthday. After waking up on Saturday (day before birthday) my dad siad my sister and I only had to read. Then took the two of us to New York, this was because for my birthday I asked my dad for a new book. While walking to "Barnes and Nobles" my father and sister wanted to check out the apple store. While they were drawing on the iPads I decided to play some games on the iPhone 8's. At Barnes and Nobles my dad got two books for me. One was part of a manga series called, "My Hero Academia". I'm sure I've talked about this anime before since it's just so good. Apparently, the episodes for season 3 haven't come out yet so I wanted to get the book and have a summary of what was going to happen (spoilers).

The second book I got was part of another series called, 'Trials of Apollo". This one was an actual book made for people on America. I made a summary about the first one a month ago and really enjoyed it. That is why I wanted to get the second one and read it. When one of the store workers told us where the book was my dad noticed it was a hard cover. Since he knew that hard covers were more expensive than paper-backs my dad spent a few minutes trying to find the cheaper version. Unfortunately for him, there was no paper-back. And to think that the whole time he was searching I was at the manga section reading some other animes that I knew about. In addition to the two books I got my sister wanted some too and got an extra 2. That was why in the end, the total price was about $45.

Once the book shopping was over my sister and I wanted to go and eat. Since Whole Foods was about 5 feet away from us we decided to go there. There was a buffet with about over 100 choices. However I only got three, you don't know this but practically 75 of the coices were related to vegetables. In the dn I got some "General Tso Chicken Wings", "Beef Stew", and "Peppered Macaroni". The Beef Stew was definetely the best out of all the options. It literally was so good! If there was only one type of meat I would eat for the rest of my life, that would be it! The macaroni was something I got scared of since it had pepper in it. Fortunately, once I tasted it the "spice" was something I could easily avoid.

Now time to talk about the day of my birthday! On Sunday, I woke up and walked downstairs into the kitchen. The first thing I noticed was how my game was completely untouched from yesterday! Then I headed into the kitchen and saw a note my father had written, "No Homework Today". As soon as I heard those words my brain went crazy. My sister came down soon and reacted the same way as me. The two of us relaxed and used our electronics! My dad came home through the front door and didn't look happy. He even told me to turn off my game and I said yes. I felt as though the day would be boring and not fun but he made food and put everything on the table for me! My sister and I enjoyed eating the food and he even told me to make a wish!

Google News

The day was pretty amazing and after celebrating my birthday he gave me a present. About $50 worth of gift cards and I was really happy! My mother came home 4 hours later and got me a sweater and jacket! She even bought a cake but I was reluctant to eat it.... Anyway, I'm gonna end this post with a story from the news. Apparently, someone had sent Donald Trump Jr's (one of Donald Trump's sons) wife an envelope that contained a weird substance. The wife did not seem alarmed by this and just left it there. When Donald Trump Jr came home he addressed the situation to the FBI and sent the wife to the hospital. This was a precautionary measure to make sure nothing happened or affected her in any way. That is it for the post! See you guy's later.

Friday, February 9, 2018

Today is Friday! The week seemed to go a lot faster than I thought it would. Anyway, let me start with the first period of school. The technology class was what I had for the first period and I was really happy. My teacher said we had to write two paragraphs on what would happen if the internet crashed (one paragraph for pros and one for cons). I really love the internet and if for whatever reason it disappeared my life wouldn't be the same (for a fact). But when I typed up the two paragraphs it didn't feel right to talk about what would "I" do if it crashed. That is why I mentioned stuff like what if someone (like my father) needed to send a message to his/her boss about taking a day off? If the internet was gone they couldn't do that and have to go to work in order to tell there boss they want to have the day off.

At that point, there would be no point in leaving and they should just stay working. Once I finished the assignment my friends and I played "Shell Shock 2 Live". It was really fun playing it because of how many players were in one match (5). A lot of action happened and some of my friends were a bit salty (pissed). After Technology was Dance class. However, my teacher didn't take us to the cafeteria. Instead, we went to the Winter Concert for 3rd graders. I expected my sister to be there because she dressed up today in the morning and said she would sing. Unfortunately, as we entered the room she was nowhere to be seen. I assumed that her performance had already ended or would start next period. It was just bad luck that I couldn't get to see her.

I'm going to skip lunch because the food was really bad and nothing was happening (drama) in the class. Spanish was after Lunch and my class played a game. We had to get into groups of 4 or 3 people. Then my teacher put a video on the board and wanted the groups to find the answers. Since in Spanish we are learning professions the video had about 5 questions. Each question had three different jobs and on top asked what was the right one. My group and I aren't very good at Spanish all together so we only got one point. Either way, it was pretty fun and wasn't boring like the usual. ELA wasn't bad at all because my class had two debate topics. One was about standardized testing and the other was about "violent" video games.

What really gave it the best experience was how my teacher gave so much free time in between assignments. A girl in my class called, "Kennedy" gave me an anime called, "Blue Exorcist". This is a really good anime which I actually watched. However, it looks really cool to read it in a manga. The anime is about two twins who are raised by an exorcist. An exorcist is someone who gets rid of demons. The thing that really switches things up is how one of the twins is the son of Satan! His other twin is a regular kid who grows up to become an exorcist himself. The man who raises these two boys is killed by Satan and the son (of Satan) wants to become an exorcist himself. That way he can kill Satan himself (biological father) and get revenge for his "true" father (the man who raised the two).

Remember that game "Fortnite" that I talk about almost as much as "Overwatch"? Well, a while back I read and talked about a story on how "Fortnite" would be the most popular game in the world? It seems as though that statement is getting more and truer. Because last Sunday "Fortnite" reached over 3.4 million concurrent players! In case you don't realize, "concurrent" basically means actively. So all at the same time there were 3.4 million people playing "Fortnite". The thing that astonishes me is how that doesn't mean everyone that downloaded "Fortnite"! I feel that Fortnite is stealing "Overwatch's" popularity because Overwatch seems to be one of the most played and popular games ever! Anyway, let me know what you think!

Thursday, February 8, 2018

For my class first period was Science. Today was the day for the test so I tried my best on it. Thankfully, my only complication was the last problem. Everything before that was pretty simple. I just checked my answer and apparently was wrong. The question I had was called, "Why is Meiosis Important?". I put that Meiosis is for asexual reproduction and produces sex cells. Technically it produces sex cells but I put the wrong type of reproduction. Instead of "Asexual Reproduction" it is "Sexual Reproduction". Meiosis is the process in which egg cells and sperm cells are created. Without Meiosis sexual reproduction wouldn't be a thing. That's what I should have written, fortunately, the test was out of 15. So technically I got 14/15. One hundred divided by 15 is around 6 so each question is worth 6 points.

Anyway, after Science was P.E and I really wanted to do the pacer test. However, my teacher knows that a lot of kids don't like that so we did a shorter and easier version. I forgot what the test was called but let me explain. There are two sides about two feet wide. Each side has two cones (isn't very important). On one of the sides, there are two bean bags. The goal of the test is to run from one side (without beanbags) to the other (with bean bags) and grab one. Then you run back to the first side and drop off the bean bag. Afterward, the goal is to go back and repeat the same action. Once all the bean bags are on the other side the test is finished. Apparently, if it takes you below 10 seconds your pretty fast. Around 10 seconds and 12 seconds is average. And above 12 is pretty bad.

I got 9.98 seconds so that is technically below 10. However, I feel like getting a retry. The fastest speeds for boys in my class is 8.33 or 8.34. Unfortunately for that kid, the highest in the whole 7th grade (so far) is 8.32. That is a 0.01 or 0.02 difference! I'm telling you if they had a retry the numbers would be very close! Compare 8.33 to 8.32. The gym teacher said that anyone who gets below 7 is extremely fast! Though I doubt anyone in this school could get that fast... Lunch has arrived and the lady who watches us said my class couldn't go to the Technology Lab. I was pretty angry but knew next period was Technology anyway. For lunch, the school gave two options. They were "Fish filet" or "Burger". Remember, it isn't like a burger with ketchup and lettuce. Just bread and meat...

I want to skip to the end of the day because something happened. During the end of Math, I finished my homework (for Math) so nothing was due tomorrow that I hadn't finished. The dismissal had come and I was ready for the bus to come. You see, there are 4 buses for the middle school. Three of them had already come and my teacher forgot to tell the kids on my bus that it had come. Apparently, the bus left without the 7th graders (us) and we had to call our parents. The security guard to told me to call my parents but I only knew my mother's phone number. So instead he went on Oncourse and found my dad's number. Now it is time for Google News.

Today's post is going to be about Overwatch, I'm sorry for all of the Overwatch post but today is a big day! You know that on February 16 there is going to be "Chinese New Year". Now I that I'm not Chinese but the new update for Overwatch is because of Chinese New Year. I only like this update because they have so many Asian themed skins released and sometimes they are my favorite characters. Anyway, for this update, there are 5 new skins released and all of them are epic. Epic is the yellow version of a skin or "the best". Since this Chinese new year is "The year of the dog" a lot of the character skins look like dogs. Gengi (cyborg ninja character) has a dog themed helmet with shoulder pads looking like a wolf. That is all for today but see you later!

Wednesday, February 7, 2018

Today was pretty good. Sure, my Math teacher didn't tell me my exact grade on the last test but she did say "You did pretty well". I'm assuming that I did "pretty well" then. Besides that, Math class wasn't the worst. Since my class is finally starting a new topic everyone is at an equal start. I told my dad this yesterday but Term 1 wasn't the best for me. For Term 2 (now) I'm trying to do better and get around 85's and 90's. If I did that I know my father would be very proud of me. Today my class was talking about box plots and what mean and median are. In case you don't know, 7th grade Math is just a harder more advanced version of last year. Or at least that's what adults say. To me, I can say that "like terms" was something I never learned last year (memory).

Math wasn't the only good subject for me. Science was all right, what we did today wasn't exactly the most fun (it never is) but towards the end of class my teacher answered a few of my questions and showed "Class-Dojo" to everyone. When I looked at Class-Dojo it showed that I had 25 points. I know I talked about this before but let me repeat myself. My Science teacher said that if you can reach 25 points before the end of the week you get to go to Rutger's University and try the Skating Rink. When I was little my father would take my sister and me to New York City and there was a huge skating rink there. Unfortunately, the line was always so long so we never got to go. That is why going to Rutgers University would be a very fun experience for me.

One of the questions I asked was about Worms. My teacher said that worms can live without a tail or head and I know that of course. But something got me concerned. How can an organism live if it doesn't have its head? So I asked him what happens if we cut the worm's head in half. Apparently, worms don't have brains so it wouldn't matter. However, some worms have a part of their body that if you cut past that point the worm will die. I guess some worms can just live immune to any physical harm. I just thought of a question?!?! What if you just step on a worm? Your technically not going to "rip" it and the worm will be "squished". But then again, it probably would be so slippery and skinny that you couldn't even hurt them. I just want to make this clear, I would never try and do this because killing animals is very bad.

The thing that really makes me feel bad is that my teacher said he would buy some worms and cut them for the class. Even though the worms won't die (hopefully) it'll be bad to see him cut it. Something funny I told my friend was about the process for worms to regenerate. If a worm's body gets cut in half won't the worm's upper body have a to grow a new butt (I said butt instead of tail for the fun of it)? And the butt will grow a new head? It doesn't seem as funny when I told my friend so don't be surprised if you don't laugh. The rest of the day wasn't bad at all. During Health my teacher told us to do an assignment and then extra credit. I finished the assignment which was about "What Causes You Stress?" and then did the extra credit.

That was all for school (highlights), now let's talk about the news. Today's story is about Overwatch (game). A very popular streamer who's name I can't even spell (its that long) complained to Blizzard (company of Overwatch) about a particular player. They won't even say the name of that person but apparently, he has been stream sniping. "Stream Sniping" is a term that is used to define people who wait for the streamer they are watching search for a game and then they do the same thing. The goal of the "Stream Sniper" is to hopefully get in a match with the streamer. The bad news is, this particular "Stream Sniper" wanted to throw the game for his teamates. I feel bad for the streamer because he says he won't stream unless Blizzard bans the player who has multiple accounts. Anyway, this is all for today's post.

Waking up wasn't the best experience for me because of the alarm. It was so annoying trying to turn it off and accidentally set it on again. After turning the alarm off I had a natural instinct to go back to bed. After 38 minutes I woke up again and was scared that my dad would get mad at me for waking up late. However, my sister didn't have to go to school today because she's sick (flu). When I heard this it really frightened me, this is because of all the posts in Google News about deaths by the flu. I don't want my sister to die and would give up my life to let her live on. She's so young and if that ever happened (hopefully never does) I wouldn't forgive myself. Sure she's sometimes a bit annoying but I still love her and can't accept anything like that happening. Because the truth is, I don't always treat her the way I should (sometimes mean).

So when she get's better (hopeful) I'm going to give her a hug and tell her I'm happy she's okay. Instead of going to happy moments of today I've decided to add ever bad thing into one part so the good things can't be ruined. Once I got to school my class looked like they were going to get in trouble. Apparently, someone in the hallway said, "Welcome to Hell" and the dean of students heard it. So every kid that was in the hallway was told to stand by the doors of their classroom. Whoever said it had to admit to Ms. Link (dean) or else every kid who was in the hallway at the time was going to get a detention. Since he/ she didn't admit everyone was told to go into their classrooms until someone admitted it. Fortunately for some people, the kid said he/she did it. The reason I say "some people" is because its true.

Yesterday, a bunch of kids (11) were given a day of detention because class started but they were still talking. The detentions of those 11 people were increased to a whole day and most of the kids in the hallway were part of those 11. I wasn't part of the 11 people so when he said a whole week of detention I felt so happy to not be them! One of the girls who were part of those 11 went to the bathroom and started crying. I felt as though she didn't deserve it. This was because she got detention for talking to the boy next to her because he needed a pencil. No, she wasn't even talking. The boy asked for a pencil and all she said was "yes". It just happened to be that the Grammer teacher looked at her for that one reason. It just doesn't seem right, if I could immediately change this decision I would.

Now let's cram all the "good" things into this last paragraph. Today I had P.E and that is already good enough for me. However, I was really hyped for today because of the pacer test. I've talked about this right? Basically, the pacer test is a standardized test that all kids usually take while in school. From the beginning of the year to the end. You're basically running from one side of the room (usually gym) to the other side. Then when you hear the "beep" you're supposed to run back to the opposite side. My highest is 134 I think and that was the best. The only reason this one kid beat me by one lap is that they used this pole that is a bit closer than the walls. It's cheating, okay? I used to do that back in 5th grade but stopped and got this far!

One story I read was about Donald Trump. It wasn't something "revolutionary" but it was a death of a football player. You know if reading my blog for a while that football isn't my favorite sport. Anyway, Donald Trump said that it was such a disgrace for a football player to get killed by a man in a car crash who was apparently an undocumented immigrant. In case you don't know what that means let me spell it out for you, "I-L-L-I-G-A-L". Another story I saw was about Apple. Apparently, they are going to make it so that you can choose how you want your phone to use its battery. I suppose that is the better, but not perfect. If they wanted to make their battery problem fixed why not just increase the time in which your phone can survive? Boom, and let it so that they can still run and do things as before> Problem fixed!

The first period of the day was Social Studies and my teacher was talking about Donald Trump (not much) and the attacks on Norway where around 66 to 77 people were killed. 90% of those people were kids and my teacher said that if we are going to make "America Great Again" then it's going to take a long time. Besides that, he shared a story about his daughter 16th birthday and what they did yesterday. After Social Studies was Science and I was trying to be as quiet as possible. Thankfully, I got a "Classdojo" point and am getting closer to that 25 point mark. If I do then my Science teacher will take me and whoever else that gets 25 points to Rutger's University, this is mainly because they have an ice rink.     Because I've never been ice skating and have been wishing to do so this will be a very fun experience for me (if I go).

Recess and Lunch were next so I grabbed my chips (that I got from home) and walked outside with my class. There, I played a game which seems pretty dangerous but fun at the same time. My friend and I go to the place where other kids do Soccer. There, on the ground is a map of the United States of America. We each pick one state (that we can think of) and go stand there. Whoever gets touched by the ball loses (dangerous aspect). The reason I call this "dangerous" is for two reasons. One: there are around 30 kids who play Soccer in that area of the courtyard. Two: the area to play Soccer is very small, just barely over the size of my living room. Unfortunately, the ball hit me in the leg twice and him only once. I tried to tell him that he jumped over the ball when it came but he never listened and called me salty.

Lunch wasn't very good so all I took was the milk carton. This was because I had a bag of chips with me anyway. Lunch seemed pretty quick and after it was over Spanish came. We had to complete a worksheet that the teacher explained on the board. Fortunately, there wasn't any homework and I was very happy with that. For Technology my class had a substitute because the regular one was absent. Hopefully, while in Gifted and Talented the teacher can explain why he was absent today. The whole period I was worried about not being able to read my "Dark is Rising" chapter quiz was happening the next period. That's why I went on the computer and tried to find the summary for the chapter (which I did). Then I read it and started skimming through the chapter.

You don't know how happy I felt when my teacher said it was tomorrow! That's why when I got home the first thing I did after finishing my homework was read the book. Oh, just so you know. Yesterday, I finished writing summaries for the book, "The Three Musketeers" and was so happy to give it to the next member of my group. You can't imagine how mad she was. The fact is......She's a hypocrite! When I was decided to be the first person to get the book she kept saying, "You better finish reading your chapters or else we are going to kick you out!". She wasn't even the leader of the group so how was she going to say that?!?!??! Anyway, ELA was pretty good because I did some fable work and turned in my assignment. Grammer was average because even though I'd rather have P.E it felt pretty productive.

This is related to the super bowl even though I don't watch football. You see, there was this one commercial for the Super Bowl that I really enjoyed. It showed my favorite youtube called, "Ricegum". As you can see, because I'm Asian rice is kind of a habit and I enjoy orange gum so we're kind of similar. He was in the Super Bowl commercial for a headset company (beats). This is pretty revolutionary because Ricegum is the first youtube to have ever been part of something as big as this sure there are many YouTubers with lots of money like him but he just went above and beyond to get partnered with an actual company! I'm pretty sure the Super Bowl is part of the "news" so why not talk about this? This was the post guys and see you later.

Today I am going to be talking about a book called, 'The Three Musketeers". The Three Musketeers was written by, "Alexander Dumas". The book itself is pretty long with a total of 700 pages. "The Three Musketeers" is also the longest book I've ever remembered (as far as I know of). It talks about a man named, "d'Artagnan" (who I am going to refer to as "the main character" because his name takes too long to write) left his family in Gascony(small place in France) to go to Paris. The main character wants to join the ranks of a musketeer but has very much learning to do. Before leaving he receives three things from his father. A sword, eleven crowns (currency), and a horse. While making his way to Paris d'Artagnan stumbles upon a stranger who insults the looks of his horse. Because of this he challenges the man to a duel but is unfairly attacked by the stranger's friends.

The host of the party takes d'Artagnan down to a dungeon where he was kept unconscious for a short while. While unconscious the stranger takes d'Artagnan's items and leaves unnoticed. When he is woken up by the host d'Artagnan swears to find the stranger and retrieve his objects, which include a recommendation letter by his father to join the Musketeers. Fortunately for him, d'Artagnan has made a name for himself and is undoubtedly known as the son of his father who is generally famous among commoners. Arriving in Paris, d'Artagnan meets many Musketeers and listens to their conversations about women, life, and battle. That is when M. de Treville (commander of musketeers) finds him and rights a recommendation letter in place of his father's.

D'Artagnan thanks M. De Treville for the letter and leaves fast to the king. However, while running he meets the best Musketeers known around Paris, they are called "The Inseperables" and have a very good reputation. Unfortunately, D'Artagnan gets on their bad sides and challenges them all to duels. Athos, Pathos, and Aramis ("The Inseparables) all accept and schedule times to fight. The first duel is Athos and D' Artagnan and they start off strong. However, Athos tells D' Artagnan he has company and invites Pathos and Aramis at his side. That's when all three of the Musketeers get confused. Each of them was supposed to fight at certain times and it would be unfair to go 3 against 1. Eventually, the four become friends and this is known by M. De Treville. That is as far as I've gotten in the book because I am only supposed to read 7 chapters.

Google News

In fact, I'm going to write some stuff for the book after this post. Anyway, because this post was supposed to only be about the book and Google News I've decided to start now. Remember that post I made a few days ago about an asteroid that's supposedly going to hit Earth? Well, today is February 4th, the day that asteroid gets closest to Earth and I am not scared anymore. You see, the story I read specifically states, "Our calculations indicate that asteroid 2002 AJ129 has no chance — zero — of colliding with Earth on Feb. 4 or anytime over the next 100 years". As you can see, the asteroid should hit us at all. At around 4:30 P.M will be the closest the asteroid will get to Earth, according to NASA. If NASA is a space program then I would assume that they are very accurate with their work.

This next story is called, "China accuses the US of 'Cold War mentality' over nuclear policy". The U.S.A Military is concerned about the size of their nuclear bombs saying they are too small. That is why some of the bombs they make will be less in size. Apparently, other countries like Russia, China, Iran, and most likely North Korea have already taken this approach and are possible threats to the U.S. For some reason Iran's foreign minister has claimed it brought the world closer to annihilation. Just a quick tip for the U.S military, maybe you should target people who say stuff like that because those people could be the reason the U.S falls (if it does). I guess China doesn't want America to feel as though everyone is a threat, at least to them.

This weekend was like an epic study moment session where I just spent all of my time just practicing for the ELA EOY, the Math EOY, and the...
