Unfortunately, nothing that exciting happened today. But then again, it was a Monday... The first period was Social Studies and my teacher wanted to show us a video pertaining to the movie "Black Panther". This video talked about the "Symbolism" in "Black Panther". The first "symbol" was about how the country (Wakanda) was "hidden in plain sight". Apparently, the woman in the video said that represented how black people are overlooked in society. I didn't actually understand what she meant by that but still took notes. Then it talked about who was the villain in the movie. At first, it portrayed "Klaus" as the evil villain because he was trying to teal the vibranium for himself. However, once he died "Killmonger" and "Black Panther" were against each other to see who would become Wakanda's ruler.

Although, Killmonger lost he was probably one of the best villains ever created in a superhero movie. And honestly, both T'Challa (Black Panther) and "Killmonger" would have been "good" rulers. It's just that the T'Challa develops a leadership skill called "Compassion" that Killmonger doesn't have. Also, the Black Panther is just "nicer" in general. Anyway, once the video was done my Social Studies teacher started getting more in depth. I asked him whether it was fine that I just wanted to watch the movie for fun and he said there was nothing wrong with that. We're even going t watch the entire movie in class on May 15th since that's when it's released on "Netflix" and DVD.

Science class was next and my teacher also had a video planned for us. I thought that was great but unlike the "Black Panther" one this is more "educational" (if you can even call it that). It was about "Gravity and the Force of Motion". The notes were good but one kid made the period really funny. He got into an argument with the teacher asking why we should have to write that the air resistance is part of the reason why a paper falls slower than a rock. The kid kept on saying it was "obvious" and to be honest I agreed. But my teacher said it's good to know the "scientific" reason. Then, he started making a full-on demonstration. DeJuan (name of the kid), grabbed a book and paper before letting them fall to the ground. Finally, he said it was "OBVIOUS" that the paper was going to fall slower.

Most of my classmates were dying of laughter while he did this (including me). During Lunch, I ate some "Ravioli". It tasted horrendous because the sauce was basically covering everything. I couldn't even call it "lunch" at that point, it was just some red sauce on a paper plate. Recess was at the "Field" and I was worried that we (7th grade) might not go because it was raining. Thankfully, it ended before anyone reached the outside. I talked to some of my friends about the Math PARCC that was happening next period and video games. It was a pretty good morning for me, however, the PARCC ruined it. I spent 80 minutes answering Math questions from the start of this year to the end of the workbook.

Google News

There was this new movie that came out last weekend called, "Infinity War". It was about all of the Marvel superheroes facing "Thanos". He's like this huge interdimensional space lord that can do whatever he wants. So the heroes tried to destroy him but unfortunately, Thanos was too strong. In fact, he killed about 7 of the superheroes (this is probably due to the actual people playing the characters having to leave or get fired). And for some reason one of those characters was the "Black Panther". And it's sad because he was the main figure for black people to look up to. Little kids watched the "Black Panther" movie and thought he was amazing, then he gets killed almost 3 months later. I hope Marvel knows they made a horrible mistake doing this.
