Yesterday, I had a very interesting thought to try and ride my skateboard once again. But let me tell you the history of this specific skateboard. Basically, when I was around 9 or 8 I got a skatboard from Toysoraus and it was really special to me. My father saw that I was interested in the board and said he would get it for me, I don't know the actual reason (like whether it was because of grades or he just had spare cash to waste). But, when I first tried the board was way too big for me and I failed completely. Even now it's still a bit too much for my liking but I can make due with it. And in all honesty it's probbaly in much better condition than most skateboards out there, since it was made 4 years ago and never touched (well for like 30 minutes when I first attempted to use it).

So when I heard my dad come back from Lincoln Park I asked if he could take me there since it was also a chance to get some fresh air. He didn't complain and after eating rbeakfast we headed to the track field. Now your not supposed to be skateboarding in the track field but you can do it on the concrete floor that leads up to it and the parking lot. I still don't even know how to turn probably but I'm really getting the hang of where my feet or supposed to be. And after falling about two times a guy came over and noticed me failing. He said that all I needed to do was put my back foot a little farther down the board so I could get a better and stronger position. I was very thankful because of him I feel more comfortable with the skateboard.

My father also commented on my orm even though he's probably never touched a board in his life before today but I didn't feel like arguing. After lincoln park my father didn't feel like going home straight away. So we went to 440 or more commonly known for holding (Hudson Mall) to see some of the stores and buy items we might need. In reality we only got some socks because they were cheap and looked cool but we did browse, a lot! The first store was actually a place that was selling halloween costumes and they had some pretty scary houses and robots on display. Anyway, that was it for today's post!

Every year the schedule is different, and it may sound pretty stupid when I say that but just hear me out, last year we had P.E on Tuesday and Thursday. This resulted in Thursday is the best day of the week. Now this year, Monday is somehow the best day because although it has Spanish there is P.E, Music, and Technology all in the same day. And in case you don't know that results on Monday becoming the most fun day of the week. Now on to a more serious note, it was the beginning of lunch and my class was heading towards the elementary school (our cafeteria was there). But before that, I had to give my recommendation letter to one of my old teachers who was across the hall.

And my luck just so happened to run out because as soon as I reached his door the fire alarm started ringing and I didn't get the chance to give it to the teacher (because I was more worried about being separated from my class). Afterward, a bunch of rumors was starting about how a kid brought a lighter into the school and started the fire in a boy's bathroom. At first, my friend and I didn't believe this at all but then we saw the firetrucks across the street.

Since it was a supposed to be a lunch there were two classes that were in the field for their recess. So they must've definitely been surprised when they saw the school coming to the building. We waited for about 30 minutes before the teachers were able to organize everyone into a line and count as (to make sure no students were left inside the building). I suspected that if there was an actual fire that the school would be smoking but obviously it didn't cause the sky was just cloudy (not smoke, I could tell the difference). Anyway, in reality, when all of the students were back in the school the real reason was that there was a chemical that was somehow flammable and a random kid saw it and touched the fire alarm. That's all I really know but I'll keep you updated.

Another half day

Since today was a half day I'm pretty sure I can fit my whole day into these three paragraphs. Anyway, let's begin with the first period, first of all, my bus was late once again. But to the point where they had to have all the students sign their names before heading to class so they wouldn't be counted as late. Though I pretty sure they counted us late for the other times before today when the bus too way too long. My class was already into the first 5 minutes of class so I had to rush to eat and fix my uniform (take off my sweater and put it inside of my locker. One thing that I hate is if your only going to wear the sweater for two days a week than what's the point of spending almost 30 dollars on it? It just doesn't seem worth it, and then if you want to wear something on top of your shirt for the other three days you have to buy another specific vest that looks horrible.

During ELA, my teacher let us finish our station work before proceeding to tell us about the uniform and answer any of our questions. Soon enough, it was time for Social Studies and I was looking forward to it because I finished my ancestry chart. My father helped me the day before when I told him it was for a school project. However, when the teacher saw what I and a couple of other kids wrote he told us we did it wrong. The reason was that we were supposed to do our great grandparents as well which I totally forgot. Thankfully he didn't seem to mind since a large number of people made the same mistake as me and collected it as it was. That's when he and the students were notified that there was going to be a community circle happening right after Social Studies. I don't know why they decided that having a community circle was a good idea now but it's their choice, not mine.

So we all rushed into the gym even though the multi-purpose room had enough space for everyone. I guess she thought that the room would be too small, but boy did she think wrong. There was literally no way for a kid to use the bathroom unless all of the kids surrounding him were cramped together to the side. And then when he finished they would have to cramp back together once again. But, basically, the community circle was about us kids and some of the problems that we have been facing, including school uniforms, how many times we should be going to our lockers every day, and how chaotic the middle school was in the first week. What surprised me the most was probably how the lost and found box in the dean of student's room was already full. That proved that we needed to be more careful with what we were carrying.

There are only about 1 and a half weeks left before the PSAT and I honestly have no idea what the test is going to be like. I know that there are sections that last only up to 40 minutes so of course, it's going to be hard. They will give you up to 40 questions so you shouldn't be spending more than a minute on a question. Apparently, there is a certain amount of points that are set for each section (the math and English language arts). If you want to have a higher chance of getting accepted by a good high school you should try to get above 1000. I'm curious to see how many points maximum for both categories because my ELA is obviously much better than my Math. Although, I'm not sure they will want a student that is extremely good at one subject but not the other...

Anyways, the point is that I don't even have a book to study for the test and that will make me at a very huge disadvantage. Of course, youtube is available to everyone and definitely has some videos on this specific test, but I feel like having the book is a much better idea. Now onto my day, so I was pretty happy to hear that tomorrow was a half day because of my package, its a windbreaker that my mother bought for me and I can't thank her enough. Obviously, getting a good test grade is much more important than a piece of clothing but he can't help getting excited. Oh, I forgot to talk to you about my recommendation later.

So, about 3 days ago the middle school guidance counselor gave me and a bunch of other kids recommendation letters so we can write to a teacher that we think will compliment us the most, or which teacher you think you did the best in. In complete honesty, I thought that last year (in 7th grade ) was my best year because I got Honor Roll as well but my homeroom and dance teacher are gone, left the school. So I can't ask them to write me a recommendation letter. Unless I can send him the questions and my answer and hopefully he can write me a letter in return. I will ask my guidance counselor whether or not this is allowed because if he writes me an email back then I can just print it. Well, that's it for today's post!

I honestly don't like any day that doesn't have P.E in it because it really means you don't run or move your body that much, besides walking to and out of classes. Especially, since today it was raining so we couldn't even go outside to recess. Anyways, because it was raining I didn't want to wear my running shoes that my mother got me. I wasn't sure whether or not they were water-resistance. So instead I wore some sneakers that my mother also got for me. She got me these about a year ago and amazing they still fit. With all of the comments about how my feet are huge and growing even more. These shoes were about 200 dollars in total (not including tax) and were very new when I got them. But back then, I only got them because of the way it looked and the fact that they were basketball shoes so my friends thought they looked cool. Nowadays, I don't care about basketball and hate the way they feel since soccer if my sport.

So you can probably already tell that I didn't enjoy wearing these today. Sure I caught a couple people looking at them but that's it. It isn't special anymore or the "newest thing". The running shoes may not look as cool but they are limited edition and are very comfortable. You can only get these shoes in New York and I can promise you many people want these. At school, my favorite periods were Math, Lunch, Technology, and Spanish... Technology actually made me kind of mad for one specific reason. So in Technology, there is this website that we are supposed to use called, " Typing.com" and basically it's like "Edutyping" where it checks your words per minute and how well you did. However, if you make a mistake on one of the lessons you basically have to restart until you can do it without making any mistakes.

Just today I found out that there was a leaderboard system but I was in 6th place while the girl who did the least amount of work got the highest. At this point, I was super mad so I asked my teacher before going to Music class whether or not we could do a Nitrotype competition to see who has the highest words per minute. This, in my opinion, is a much better solution because it lets us see who fairly is the fastest typer. My teacher seemed to be interested so I hope that tomorrow he is going to try to implement this game in our time (since tomorrow my class has him again).

PARCC TEST SCORES!

I asked my father whether or not I could bring my PARCC test scores to school because then my ELA teacher would look at it. She said that if you brought your scores than she would help explain them to you. Now although I'm pretty sure I understand everything it would just feel good if I heard the words "You are Advanced" and "These grades are great" coming from her mouth, you get it. It's a common thing where if you hear something from your teacher or someone who is "higher status", it feels better or their words seem to more compared to other students. Not saying that teachers are the highest status or anything, but because they teach you and learn everything in school from them hearing them be proud of you feels great. Obviously, if your friend tells you your grades are great it's good but not as amazing.

So that's exactly what I did, during the last period before dismissal (free time), I went over to her room and found her getting ready to start her break. Since I didn't want to disturb her I started walking out until she stopped me. Ms. Turner (the ELA teacher) remembered me asking her to check my PARCC scores during our class but didn't have enough time, as long as she didn't have a problem with it I happily showed it to her, and she almost exactly quoted the two phrases I had just mentioned to you. Before leaving, the lady reminded me that just because I got one of the highest overall scores in the school, that doesn't mean I should stop there since my score wasn't 100 %.

However, I find it very hard to believe that getting every question right on the test is possible. Of course, there have definitely been cases where kids have beaten the odds, but that's not what really matters. Anyways, after doing this I had gym class and it was pretty fun. I have a new move in Soccer that I was working on but honestly, it isn't that cool. However, I was able to nutmeg one of my classmates while dribbling and it felt super good. Since I didn't have my cleats on though I wasn't able to kick like I wanted to. The cleats are much more comfortable and have a better grip. But even before that, we had to run two laps around the park and it was excruciating. The pain was really troubling to me. My heart was beating like a drum but I wouldn't let that stop me from becoming better than I already am.

Blessings!

When my mom told me that she wanted to take my sister and me to a blessing I wasn’t very optimistic about the whole situation. You see, I knew my father wasn’t going to be happy and that’s exactly what I told her. But she insisted that this was the one thing I could do for her after she bought my all those clothes. At that point, I knew there was no point in arguing so I brushed my teeth, took a shower, and put on my Tibetan Clothes. As you know, it’s customary to get some type of offering or donation to whoever is blessing you, at least in my culture, so we went to the Asian Market to get something for the high lama. Or so I thought, in reality, my mom got a ton of vegetables and 4 gallons of whole milk! Like, are you kidding me! Usually, you can just give a few bucks and the lama will be satisfied but she wanted to really get the “best” blessing so she bought a ton of stuff.

Thankfully, my “cousin” (I don’t remember her and she’s much older than me), brought her car over and wanted to help us carry the “donations” to the monastery. It was an hour and a half drive to the monastery and I can undoubtedly say that we all slept beside the driver, She was just doing a  good job driving for us. I am honestly just so excited to drive because it's the thrill of just going fast and deciding where you want to go. My only problem will probably be parallel parking because I can just see my self, hitting another car. After finally reaching the monastery one of the monks came to greet us and informed us that the blessing was over and everyone had left, although there was this one group that was taking pictures. Afterward, he said that he would do something special for us since we brought a ton of donations and let us see the high lama. My mom was so excited and ready to pray like a beast.

There was this house where the lama was giving the blessings and no one was inside it, or so we assumed. Because after we put our donations inside he took us to the room on the left and we saw the old lama sitting on his chair. Now I am an atheist and don't believe in good luck. But just seeing the guy in his spiritual robe just made me feel like I had to pray. The monk who took us there was friendly laughing (meaning he wasn't laughing to hurt my feelings) and so was my mom. Then, they were all speaking Tibetan except for my sister and me so I felt like of left out. Remember that the woman that drove us there also was getting a blessing. The old monk said some "words in Tibetan or Sanskrit" and then, gave us each a little tap on the head from this almighty stick of power, I'm joking, it just had some cool looking papers filled with drawings of the Buddha. But that was all we did that day!

Saturday, September 22, 2018

Yesterday was the end of my first week of school and I honestly enjoyed it. Although, the first week should have not started classes I can understand because of all the delays the school had. Now, onto the start of my day. As usual, I would text my dad that I arrived at the bus stop. Then I'd just sit and go on Instagram until the bus came. Inside, although we aren't supposed to be using it the bus attendants either don't seem to care or have a very bad vision because there was this one girl who was using it and the adult stood right next to her. At school, there weren't very many people at the start so I just rushed to my locker. You see, the problem is that as soon as it hits 8:30 A.M all of the kids try to get their stuff from their lockers and it becomes so terrifying. It's actually sort of a safety hazard because what if there is a school shooter? The hallways are so small that literally, everyone would be trying to run away and the intruder could just kill a ton of kids. The school really needs to get their structure together.

After homeroom was over and everyone got their stuff I headed to my first class, which was English Language Arts. The teacher was going to give everyone their tests from the previous class, the benchmark. This test is supposed to determine if you stay in the advanced or you leave to go somewhere else. In my opinion, I think that isn't really that fair, one because it's the start of the year school year so everyone's knowledge is still a little rusty. Anyways, the teacher couldn't find our exams and gave us another class's so we could grade there's. That way it would save her time so she could work on other stuff. I felt bad for the kid that I graded because he got almost a full two pages worth of questions wrong but that's just how life works.

That means that he will most likely be staying in his class since I know that he isn't advanced (that wasn't in a rude way, that just means that he literally isn't in the class that's advanced. Okay, that still sounds kind of rude but I can't do anything about that. Now, one thing that the student counselor told my class yesterday was about the PSAT. Well, first of all, she asked us if the ones who gave the ten dollars still wanted to take it and everyone said yes. Thankfully, even if we don't get picked by any high school you can still go to Beloved if you have been with the school for a while.

Fastest Typing Speed!

When I got to my bus stop I texted both my mom and dad, letting them know that I was safe and on my way to school. Afterwards, I was about to decide to go home since the bus was taking so long but it came. The school told the kids that they weren't allowed to use their phones on the bus anymore so their was literally no point in bringing them to school. Still, I went on just to let my mom know one more time that I was in this bus before turning it off, the bus attendent didn't catch me. Finally, my bus reached the school and most of the kids were already in their lockers. I always hate that the bus is late by 10 minutes because I have to wait a while before I have enough space to open my locker. So instead, I just took out my manga and read a few pages until their was space for me to fit in. Now the hallways are extremely narrow so only two lines of kids can get through. In the main school building their are double the amount of kids so you can imagine what they had to do to fit that space (increase the hallway size 2xs).

I asked my teacher if I could go to Ms.Gonzalez because today was the last day that she would be handing out the forms for the PSAT. I really want to this test and was grateful to know that the ten dollars were still inside of my bookpack. Usually, I have something that I'm supposed to bring to school but I never remember to bring it, or put it inside of my bag. So as soon as my father handed me the money I put it in one of the small pockets. It doesn't really matter but unfortunately I forgot to bring the form with me. It is in my locker so I'll need to retrieve it the next day. I now realize that every day of school the first to to 3 periods will be ELA and that isn't good, that means I will have to get used to the thing every morning. When instead, it could be more diverse like last year. ELA was fine and I enjoyed the teacher letting us be in groups and working on our own specific "stations". When the 2 periods were over I walked with my class to Tech and had a great time their.

My friend in I were competing to see who was the faster typer. Now I am proud to say that my score was much higher (in terms of wpm) but he definitely had a faster trigger finger. It's just that I instinctively knew where all of the keys were without evne looking at the keyboard. And that can put someone at a much bigger disadvantage than you think. Then, when we were doing the lessons I was happy to get three stars on all of the lessons that I did. And only having to retry at least once on some of them. Thankfully, it was time for P.E and I was happy to see that the adult let us play soccer after our warm up. Now obviously soccer is my favorite sport but I had to say I liked the one lap run better because it got my adrenaline going. My heart was beating really fast and I was no ready to play Soccer. Let's just say it was a pretty good day!

PSAT

I think that it is time to talk about something that is very serious. So yesterday I found out that one of the adults working for the school, a woman named, "Ms, Gonzalez", said for $10 any middle school student can get an application to take part in the PSAT. Now you obviously don't have to do that but if you get a decent grade ranging from 200 to 700 you can get accepted into a decent high school, I'm not sure how good the Beloved High School is going to be next year because a lot of students are hating on it. Now obviously, it will be their first year making the high school so they might not be prepared. But I know for a fact that the building definitely looks pretty cool. Now is it the right size for a high school? I don't know, because I'm never been to a high school. Although I know one high school near Newport Mall called, "Dickinson" and it looks pretty huge compared to the drawing of the one we're building. I saw the blueprint, or picture that the school wants it to look like, but it doesn't seem as big. Who knows? Maybe they're will be a lot of floors or the gym is like underground?

Anyway, I know I don't have to take this test but a lot of other kids in my class are, well most of them. The reason I'm saying this is because I don't know if everyone is going to take it. Now, we are the "advanced" class of this school so if anyone should take it, it's us. But, that doesn't mean it's mandatory. I still wonder if the other classes in the 8th grade are eligible to take this exam. Not meaning that they aren't smart, but that they might not take it because they aren't in the advanced class. It's surprising to me that kids in the 7th grade and (maybe 6th) are taking this test because they still have to wait another 1 or 2 years before they even reach high school. The reason kids are taking this exam in the first place is to get into a good high school like "High Tech" and "Micknair" (hopefully that's how you spell it). In fact, after this post I am going to go on Google search up what these high schools are. My friend says that the better high school you go to, the more colleges will want you to go to their schools. I think this is pretty stupid because as long as you get a good GPA in your SAT you should be good.

Now then, let me talk about my highlight for the day. And that is probably Music. Now I am very bad at singing and can't play a single instrument but it was still the most fun class I'd have the whole day. The reason behind this is because of the super fun teacher who I honestly love. She has a really funny attitude and I just can't believed everyone disrespected her in the introductions at the "first day of school". Then again, there were a ton of students in one room, so you can't really expect anyone to listen at first. Still, we played a game called, "21". The way to play is that you are in groups of 4 to 5 and you need to be able to count to 21 starting from 1 without two people saying the same number at once. And you can't just do a circle, you need to mix it up from person to person that way it isn't too obvious your cheating. My team didn't do that well but in the beginning we really had a ton of fun.

School day #1

Let's just say I really enjoyed going to school today, I'm been waiting for the day where I can actually learn stuff and get all of my "privilages". Like for instance, when class is over the students get to just leave to their next period. They don't have to wait for everyone to get in line, even if the teacher doesn't realize it they can just leave. Which I thought really gave us a sense of "freedom". Tomorrow they are going to give us our lockers so we can put our textbooks and other supplies needed. I really love the school because of all the choices they give us nowadays. For the first period I was given a more detailed introduction towards my ELA teacher. She was a nice lady who graduated from an all girl college and was in a all balck high school. I think that she resembles one of my old teachers called, "Ms.Brown" because they both have the same type of rule check and attitude. I honestly forgot her name but she says that she likes to give us a little edge on the rules. She'll be honest everytime because she feels that it's the right thing to do.

After ELA by class split so that we were put with other classes. But this only happened to classes besides math and ela. Since those two are the main subjects the advanced class needs to be stuck together, even though they are in different homerooms. It was time for Spanish and the nice lady was actually domican republic. My old teacher, "Senora Fernandez" came from Cuba so it's a bit of a country change. My only problem with her was that she had a very loud voice, especially when you were right next to her. Still her teaching seemed great and she had lot's of bright and encouraging things to say to her student! However, I'm not the only with who has a problem, she feels pretty surprised that the school didn't give her an office to herself, which I can totally understand. I mean, she must be traveling a lot and only be able to rest in the teacher's lounge. I wonder if they even have that in the new building! Still, that doesn't mean she can't just go into the elementary section.

Now I'm gonna really talk breifly about the rest of my day since I only have on more paragraph. The new building did not have a new "big" gym like the dean promised us so we had to go back into the elementary section if it meant getting physical excercise. Although, our gym teacher (who was also part our health and sex ed classes) said that he'll let us go outside as much as we can since staying inside isn't one of his favorite things to do. The guy must also be pretty mad that we don't have a new gym as well. Eventually, it turned to Lunch time and I'm not the only person that's mad we have to seperate classes into groups of two. So there can only be two classes in a cafeteria at a time, and there can only be 2 classes at the field. So we basically just switch. Since the lunch attendants don't plan on letting us use the soccer balls I just feel like bringing my own ball.

Peppermint

Now I love going to Newport Mall because of all the stores and fun things you can do there. They have a food court that can range from Japenese to Indian Food, as well as regular fast food places. And the AMC movie theater is honestly the best place to sit down and. The reason I went with my mom and sister yesterday is because my mom wanted to have faster speed internet, or atleast that's what I'm assuming. So she got us the second highest data plan that has amazing wifi! Like usually people get the lowest one which is the 150 speeds because it's inexpensive but my mom got the 400 one! Now the actual price isn't 400 so don't worry about that. In addition, she had a totally new TV box since Direct TV is already over. She wanted to include movie channels like HBO and Syfy, while also keeping Indian shows like "Sony Entertainment Television" for her own personal enjoyment. I'm excited for my father to plug everything onto our TV when he comes home!

Anyway, once we were done with that my aunt was waiting for us at the AMC movie theater and we decided to watch something for the time being. I watched "Peppermint" and "The Predator" and honestly the "Peppermint" was probably a better movie. In terms of seriousness and drama. While the Predator definitely took home the comedy trophy the action was sort of anticipated and very boring. Like, I somehow knew everything that was going to happen! And that's not a good feeling! But anyway, the Peppermint is about a woman who's husband and daughter got killed by a group of gang members because the father was asked to assasinate the gang's leader. However, the husband refused to do so at the last minute, but the gang members still wanted him dead and got away with it. When the lady went to court and called out the 3 people who she saw kill her husband and daughter the judge said that the suspects were free to go since the lady had no proof. However, in reality the judge wa spaid to let the suspects go anyway so it wouldn't have mattered.

After the lady finds out about this she practices her gunmanship and fighting for 6 years (practicing in the MMA) and other physical challenging sports to get ready. Her first objective was to steal money from the bank that she used to work for. And in doing that she got the cash to buy enough guns and ammo that she'd never have to worry about running out. And it was good that she had expert level practice in all of these weapons. The woman targeted the 3 gang members that killed her family first and hung them from teh same amusement park in which her family died that night. Then, she killed the judge that was paid to support the members, even though he was no longer a judge. His house of exploded. And finally the woman went on to murdering the entire gang itself and gaining justice. She would be charged for countless murders but one of the officers knew what she was doing (and thought that it was right), so he let her escape. The End.

Saturday, September 15, 2018

The first thing I did this morning was go to the bathroom since I really had to go. Afterwards, my dad asked me to come downstairs and eat breakfast. My mother was still sleeping so it was just the three of us (him, my sister, and me). We ate egg sandwiches (he had a lot of noodles), and then we walked to the train station. My father promised me to buy a metrocard for me whenever we go to the train station but he didn't. Instead, he saved time and used his own card twice so we didn't have to buy another. Ha, I bet I got you there. Though at first I really thought he was gonna tell me to go under because there was a train security man right there. When the train finally arrived and all the people were waiting for the doors to open, I told my dad I'd bet most of the seats would be full by the time we entered. And sure enough, there were only three seats left, 2 to teh right of a woman and 1 to her left. I kindly asked her to move over so that my father could sit and see had no problem. See, everything can work out if you just be polite!

At the World Trade Center, my dad said we could go inside the apple store. However, since it was a Saturday the doors wouln't open until 10:00 A.M. But I could live with that, we instead walked upstairs and passed by the 911 memorial which I thought was still really cool to this day. One of the security people asked my father to tell my sister to not jump on top of the names in fear she might fall into the water. My dad got really mad and insisted that my sister did nothing, but even she had to admit the truth. He apologized and we continued walking, but only about 2 seconds after my father turned around and told the lady to not be rude. You would have thought that something really serious happened, fortunately nothing of the sort occured. The lady said she wasn't being rude but he wasn't going to give her time to speak (wanting the last word). I'm gonna be honest, I do stuff like that all the time, but that's at school. Because no one's gonna start beef with me and get away with.

Finally, we reached our destination! The Barnes and Noble store! I wanted to get a new manga book and some other (real) books to read for homework. The two of them spent most of their time in tge kid's section which I had no problem with. All the reading and quietness belonged to me. That is, until a group of college kids started walking up the aisle and talking really loudly. Now I know they weren't intentionally talking loud but it was pretty annoying. However, I wasn't going to lose my perfect spot to a couple of older teenagers. So I emptied my mind until their conversation seemed distant. Okay, that's a lie. I just waited until they left to continue reading... At this point, my sister had broken her slippers so went to get some new ones but ended up buying ice cream and walking back to the apple store. We stayed there for a couple of minutes before heading back to New Jersey.

First Day of School

Today was technically my first day of "school" because there were so many delays that they added up to almost two weeks. So when I got notice that there wasn't going to be any changes and that today was the right day I got super happy. During the night I just couldn't sleep, I was awake for almost 2 hours just in sheer anticipation. And believe me, I definitely wanted to go to sleep, but my excitement wouldn't let me. Even then, when I woke up it was 5:00 A.M but I knew I couldn't sleep so I turned off my alarm and walked downstairs. There, I ate breakfast and put on my clothes. Then, I waited until 6:00 A.M to wake up my sister, let's just say she had a much harder time getting out of bed. Soon enough, the two of us were already down with changing our clothes and eating breakfast. Although she didn't brush her teeth or take a shower ( not like me).

I took her to the bus stop and waited for about 10 minutes before the bus arrived. Unlike mine, it took almost 30 minutes! Now obviously you can expect buses to not be on track for the first day of school but what surprised me was that all the other kids had already started talking to their friends when I arrived. It's like my bus was the only one late! Unfortunately, us students would not be able to go inside the new building until Monday because the school still hasn't completed the elevator check. When I say this, I mean they didn't finish taking all their tests so they know the building is in safe condition for students. At first I thought this building would be much bigger and believe me it isn't small, because it took most of the parking space.

But I doubt there is going to be a gym. Unless they somehow built underground, but I don't think that's possible (with all the hardened concrete already placed). So it looks like the school lied to us once again... Anyway, because the building wasn't finished they let us stay in the/ cafeteria or to them "The Multi-Purpose Room". It's pretty boring to tell you the least. However, if we got the oppurtunity to talk to our friends I'm not complaining. Throughout the half day they introduced all the teachers that we would be working with and I liked most of them. None of them were old and pushy like last year (Ms. Yuhas). One of the kids even had the audicity to call Ms. Yuhas out and say how much of a bad teacher she was. Thankfully, she wasn't here because I'd be terrified. Well, honestly the old teacher would either take the girl out of the room to speak to her or just laugh it off because she doesn't want to start any beef. That is it for today's post!

Bears of the Ice: The Quest of the Cubs, part 4

Soon enough the cubs had reached the place where "Uluk Uluk" had told them would be the Roaring. However, they immediatley knew he lied to them since their were volcanoes and other pieces of evidence that supported the fact that Jyette and Stellan's father weren't there. Jette was mad at Stellan because he didn't trust the old bear so she ran off, but now she knows that Stellan was right and is mkaing her way towards him. Stellan and Third were frantically searching for Hyette and Third even recommended that they go back to rest because the winds here were just ferocious (they wouldn't last long). But Stellan's unresting love for Jyette made Third sure that he wouldn't leave until he found her. Meanwhile, the Rougers were able to see the full landscape and spot the two cubs. They knew it would be their job to kidnap them. So the 4 male bears rushed off to capture the little polar bears. Finally, Jyette and the two boys miraculously found each other. They rushed off into the distance but were soon getting chased by the male bears.

Stellan encouraged all three of them to jump the next patch of ice that might hold them, he knew that it wouldn't be able to carry the weight of the 4 male bears and so decided to take the risk. After they all jumped Stellan brace himself but realized nothing was happening. He heard two thumps from either side and saw that Third and Jyette had also made it safely. They slowly walked to the other side of the thin ice knowing the rougers couldn't reach them. Soon enough, they had made it but saw that one of the male bears had attempted to jump over the ice and died. The other male bears ran back to the ice palace where they would tell their queen of the situation. Eventually, the three cubs met a snow leapord that to Jyette seemed graceful and dangerous at the same time. Her name was, "Skagen" and she promised not to eat them. Stellan at first didn't trust her but for some reason just knew the leapord wouldn't try to kill them, because if she had that intent she could've already.

So they followed her inside of a cave that Third immediately recognized from his dreams. Thats when Skagen told them about their destiny to overthrow the Ice Queen and return the world back to the way it once was. Stellan and Jyette felt as though weren't the right people but then they remembered their grandfather was Svree, one of the great Polar Bears that stood up to the Queen. And their father who carried on this practice but was unfortunately defeated. Skagen told them it was their turn to help overthrow the queen and in order to do that the first priority would be to find their father. He was in the den of the forever lost, where their mother would tell them legends about. Skagen let them stay for several days until they were ready and could already tell this was probably the best time she ever had in her life.

Bears of the Ice, The Quest of the Cubs Part 3

When they escaped the tooth walker and left Jyette and Stella ran into an old bear inside of a huge building. His name was “Uluk Uluk," when the bear saw the two cubs his eyes immediately sparkled. No because he wanted to eat them, but for a totally different reason. Stellan could tell this from the very beginning because he can faintly read minds, and became very cautious. He couldn’t tell his sister because the old bear would hear him, and Jyette was being very obnoxious anyway because she never suspected a thing. Jyette asked the bear if he could help them find their father, this was when Stellan became extremely worried. He saw the bear trying to deceive them, or at least thought he was. Either way, he knew he couldn’t do anything and decided to follow along, knowing that the old bear might attack them if they don’t obey. Uluk Uluk wanted to show them what appeared to be a red band that would show them the way to the roaring. This was the place where all the male bears went to hunt. In reality the red band was a time piece that would lead them to an area where the routers lay. He wanted them to save the cubs who were being used as tick tocks but there was chance they’d fail. And in doing so he’d basically killed two baby polar bears.

Jyette said bye while Stellan hurried her along the path, they ran into a creek that was filled with sleepy fish and ate well. However, to there surprised they saw another cub struggling to walk towards them. It was third! The cub wasn’t part of their family but still looked very pale and familiar. That’s when they realized he was the cub of the bear that their mom gave them to, until she came back. But, that woman was super mean and the two cubs escape while she was sleeping. However, third was the bear’s cub and couldn’t just abandon her like that, until he had a dream. This dream was about him being taken away by two large male polar bears and brought to a clocktower full of ice. The bears said that becoming a “Tick Tock” would be a lot of fun and then it was going to be amazing. That’s why when third woke up he ran away and his mother was too busy feeding his brothers that she couldn’t stop him.

What the three cubs didn’t know was that there were cows following their move. The birds rushed back to Uluk Uluk to inform them that the cubs were still going in the right direction and that they had a third cub with them. The old bear didn’t seem to have a problem with this and gave the crows a string of twine in exchange for their information. He knew that the birds had a gruesome way of eating, by taking the eyeballs out of kits and then, throwing the body away. They promised not to use the syringe of twine in ordered to take out the eyeballs but Uluk knew they were lying. However, eh felt like an even worse liar because he made the cubs go to their certain death, or their hopeful success (not a big chance). The reason he picked those two cubs especially was because of Stellan’s ability to read minds and Jyette’s incredibly building skills (out of ice).

Bears in teh Ice: The Quest of teh Cubs Part 2

The next day, when Lago woke up the cubs she told them that it was time for her to leave and said goodbye. First and second were both super sad to see her go but knew they needed to leave as well because their mother wasn’t going to wait. Suddenly, they heard noises coming and followed the sound. Until, they reached a giant arena where the doors were locked and their was a guard standing by. They asked him what was happening and he told them about the “Roaring”, where the males would go to roar and hunt while the woman would stand by and watch. This was what her mother was talking about before she left! However, they couldn’t not enter because of the male bear’s distaste for cubs. Anyway, the guard warned them about the “Rougers”, people who ignored the laws and did everything for themselves. They would be hunting for cubs especially, this got first and second a bit worried but they managed to stay safe. That is…until they tried to find a seal hole.

Both of the cubs got their hands stuck inside and couldn’t take them out. In this book there are creatures that resemble sharks called, “Frag-Sharks” and they have more teeth then their mouth can handle. Thankfully, there was a seal that came out of the water near them and said he’d help them in exchange for the cubs not to eat him. They agreed and the seal went into the water and distracted the “Frag-Sharks” so that they had enough time to pull their hands out, one by one. Once the cubs thanked the seal they realized that he could be one of their friends. The Seal asked them what their names were and Second explained that cubs in their tribe weren’t named for another season. But because the mother left, the seal said it was time for them to name themselves. Second had always wanted to call herself, Jytte, while First named himself, Stellan. They got heir names from the stars since their mother and father were named after a star.

The seal introduced himself as “Jameson” and was very kind to the two seals. However, he needed to leave because the war was going to melt soon and seals couldn’t get too hot. But before that he told the two cubs about a beluga whale that died yesterday, he showed the direction and said bye. Jytte and Stellan were grateful for all his help and promised not to forget his actions. Suddenly, they caught sight of the beluga carcass, but there was a tooth walker eating ti already. In the stories their mother used to tell toothwalkers were very vicious creatures that killed anything that got in the way. Basically, Jytte and her brother were able to carefully drag the carcass away from the creature since it was stuck in the freezing water. After having enough of their meal they kept on walking away from the site and the toothwalker had the rest to himself.

The Searching

For today’s post I am going to be talking about what I did yesterday and lets just say it didn’t go so well. So basically, I went to Newport Mall with my mom and sister and we all had a blast at first. My mother wanted to watch the “Nun” which is a really creepy movie about an evil nun who has a demon trapped inside of her body and remembers her dark past because of it. My sister and I were personally really scared so we decided to watch another movie. One that was a lot less creepy and mysterious. We picked, “The Searching” because it is about a man who reported his daughter missing because she didn’t come home for the past 5 days. The man starts going crazy and confronts his brother and some of his daughter’s friends of doing stuff to her. Remind you that his daughter is in high school so she’s not just a little girl. But what he doesn’t know is that her daughter is actually very anti-social and has no one to talk to.

Anyways, my mother went to watch her movie since it was starting early so my sister and I waited at Johnny Rockets. We ate chicken tenders and hot dogs which I can tell you isn’t good for my body, but they didn’t have anything much better. After a couple of minutes my aunt came and we talked to her. We all had a great time eating food and talking about school (I just went on my phone). An hour later, my mother came back from the movie theater and ordered some coffee. She put so much sugar inside of the coffee because she needed to stay up late. I even donated her my sweater because I am such a nice person to the Tibetan society. And she refused to give it to me for the rest of the day. Finally, our movie started but my aunt needed to go cause she was tired. I walked her to the train station or at least the entrance and said goodbye. On the way back to the AMC movie theater I was just so excited to watch the movie.

Something that really fascinated me was how many Asian people were in the theater. I could tell you that about 9/10 of the people their were Asian. There was like one white family, now I can totally understand why more Asian people came. They were probably intrigued by the trailer of the movie, since it was about an asian man trying to find his missing asian daughter. And then he suspected his asian brother of taking his daughter. You just can’t find as many movies where Asian people are the main characters, but of course thats changing because of the new movie “Crazy Rich Asians” which had an all asian cast. Although being Asian really didn’t have anything to do with it, I bet having a white person or a hispanic person take the role would’ve been fine ( I secretly think that picking an Asian was the perfect choice).

Bears of Ice: The Quest of the Cubs

I was having a bit of trouble deciding which book I would read for today but eventually came across, “Bears of the Ice: The Quest of the Cubs”. Now this one of my sister’s summer reading books but I can assure you she most likely did not read this properly, in the sense that she probably doesn’t remember anything. But when I saw the book I thought it was interesting and wanted to read it for myself. Which is how this is the book the I’m going to be talking about today. Just from the first 5 chapters that I read (not the prologue), I can see that this is relating to fiction and nonfiction. When I saw that I mean that you can technically classify myths or legends as “nonfiction” right? Because while this book talks about Polar Bears and some of the stuff that these animals do in real life, it also has some sort of “Native American” vibe to it. And when I saw that I mean the names of the “legends” that are spoken in this book sound like something out of a Native American culture. Besides that, everyone knows that polar bears and other relevant creatures can’t talk. Anyway, let’s begin!

So the story starts off from the point of view of Svenna. Who is the mother of her two cubs, she calls them “First” and “Second” because it’s “custom” that polar bears from her “tribe” cannot be named until their second season on the ice. In other tribes the cubs would have bene named in the first 3 months of their life. The reason behind them not being named until a second season on the ice is because most cubs die early on so it would feel worse if you named them, theoretically speaking. Svenna is worried for her cubs because she thinks they don’t know how to hunt and fend off for themselves. First is her eldest son and second is the younger daughter. They both enjoy themselves ignoring they’re mother’s words. Eventually, Svenna is able to take control and ask them to find a seal breathing hole. That way they can just bite a seal and drag it on the surface. Then, spin around slamming the seal onto the frozen ice, killing it faster and more humane (to them at least).

However, as soon as the seal was brought up a male Polar Bear twice the size of Svenna name and stole it. Second tried her best to fight the stealer off but it just didn’t work. The man got away with the seal and second was crying. Her brother and Svenna were trying to calm her but she just couldn’t rest. How could that bear steal their steal! Svenna explained that they’re used to be a law system and bears that did stuff like that would be arrested. But that system as long been gone and the Antarctic is now an unlawful place. You can pretty much get away with more things. Then, Svenna explains to them that she is going to have to leave but she doesn’t tell them the real reason. Instead, the bear brings up an old legend and says that she will be be traveling to that site and then come back home. In the meantime they would be staying with one of their cousins. But, when Svenna left the cousin treated them like strangers and gave all the food to her cubs instead. That was when Second and First ran away while she was sleeping and found a nice fox named, “Lago”. Lago’s two kit’s (babies) were taken by snow owls and eaten. She found the two cubs in her den and decided to help them recover.

It's Egg Day!

Today I woke up knowing that my sister was going to have her second day of school. Thankfully, I still get another 3 days before I have to go back to school. Though, it’s not like I hate school or anything. If it comes to it I’ll definitely enjoy it. I just want to empty my giant book-pack of all the supplies. I don’t understand how I’ll be able to carry everything, and it’ll put a massive strain on my body. Anyways, this morning my mom and me some eggs and bread. I know that the importance of working out if having the protein and calories to do so. You need to obtain more mass so you can workout and see results faster. And eggs seem to be one of the biggest suppliers of proteins, well more so “Egg Whites” but still just scrambled or an omelette is fine as well. Actually (just did some research), scrambled eggs are a lot better than raw egg whites. It’s just that some people who are really dedicated to their fitness regime will make the egg whites into a sort of drink which will give a boost of proteins.

But why mix egg whites together when you can just drink milk (since milk is a good source as well)? Because milk still has calories and sugar, I’m assuming that  something about egg whites makes it like water. So their only nutritional benefit are proteins and then the rest are 0s. Once I finished the workout I got onto my phone and started searching up a workout that will have mainly do with my core, but also lower body (legs). If I’m going to beat that pacer test and play soccer I need to be fast. So in doing so training my legs will be really successful in increasing endurance and muscle. Though sometimes when I workout my legs with a dumbbell I think I can hear my bones cracking so I decide to stop take a break. The same thing happens with my arms, accept I feel like my arms will be in much better shape since their easier to do. My father’s probably laughing at me right now but he shouldn’t be talking because he has a huge belly.

Before I started my writing and picked up my sister from her bus stop I wanted to make a quick edit on IMovie so I did exactly that and it was about my favorite anime, “Tokyo Ghoul”. Then I posted it on Instagram and a lot of people seemed to like it! Not just my regular friends and followers but others who saw my edit though a hashtag. I got over 200 views and right now am almost to 100 likes! I bet my father’s never gotten 100 likes on any of his posts. Actually, every time I look on my instagram I see at least one comment and 3 likes. Back to the point though (I just couldn’t stop bragging), when I was heading to my sister’s bus stop it looked like no one was there but after 20 minutes a parent came. And even then, it went through the wrong side so I didn’t know where until another parents asked me if I was picking up a little girl. I’m just happy she called me or otherwise things would have gone bad. That’s it for today’s post.

Caterpillars!

As soon as my dad came home my mom was frantically asking him if he could take Monkyi to the clinic since her appointment was in 4 minutes. To me that seemed ridiculous but my father decided to go either way, and to my amazement they let my sister still take her appointment, even if she was 15 minutes late. While they were at their appointment I was waiting in my seat playing on my phone. There was this little girl that had barely any hair and was annoying her mother. She kept on falling on the floor (not accidentally) and was trying to open the door. I felt pretty bad for her and was happy when my my sister came back from her check up. After waiting a few more minutes we walked to another room where I was supposed to take my vaccine. Now let me tell you, I did cry or anything but the shot still hurt a lot. It was just sheer willpower that got me through that horrific needle. She told me to tighten my arms into a fist so she could see my veins and then picked the one nearest to the elbow.

Then, the little needle that she had was inserted inside of my vein and I could just feel the pain. I learned an interesting fact about Blood and Veins during school last year. When the blood is inside of the body it is blue but when exposed to air or formally known has carbon dioxide it turns the color to red. That’s why you can see blue veins when you tighten up your fists or strain your muscles. Anyway, the woman made a lot of jokes and I really liked her attitude. Laughter is always the best medicine, unless you have cancer or diabetes. Then, laughter can do a nothing for you, eating healthy will though! After both of our appointments my dad took us in the car and we drove back home to eat food with our mom. Along the drive my sister and I noticed that there was a living caterpillar on my leg! This is no joke, the day before a caterpillar was hanging off my arm for no apparent reason and I immediately saved it before it fell.

That’s right, heh heh. I’m compassionate to bugs as well. Thankfully, it didn’t die through the ride home and I was able to pick it up and drop it near a plant so it can enjoy itself. This is because technically it’s still a baby so it needs as much food as possible. And staying in the car for more than hour probably isn’t good. Now I’m starting to get curious, when I’m finished with this post I’m going to search it up on the internet and see what type of caterpillar it is. I really appreciate all of the support that I’ve been getting, from me to me and also me. Yeah, I know my father’s the only one that reads this. And possibly my ELA teacher, but anyways thanks for reading and hoped you enjoyed another journal entry of Rinchen Sangpo’s World!

Vaccination day in clinic

I can now say that everything that I’ve needed to do during the summer is complete because yesterday I was able to give the doctor my physical exam paper and he’ll let us pick it up on September 10th, which is the day that my school starts, but I can pick it up in the afternoon. Because I’m pretty sure that the school doesn’t end after 5:00 P.M. Which is when the hospital closes. Anyway, when my mom came home she asked my father to take me to the doctor’s appointment while she picks up the uniforms from store. My mom is a mad at the uniform lady who promised to put the logos on the clothes because that woman should’ve finished about 2 weeks ago. But it took her almost a whole month to complete it. Or maybe she just remembered about my mom’s order and rushed. Either way, that’s one less thing to worry about. My sister needs to put her school supplies inside her bag today because tomorrow she has school, hopefully my father remembers. I don’t think she’ll have a problem fitting the supplies inside her book-pack, because she only had one bag worth of stuff.

While waiting for the doctors to call us I was on my phone looking at Instagram and my dad was posting some stuff on Facebook. At 4:20 P.M the lady called my dad to sign the forms so technically we were waiting or nothing. Eventually, a doctor came to check my weight, height, and eyesight. I could tell my father was impressed by my height since I was 5.4 and he was 5.5, but my eyesight was something he was a little disappointed at. He blamed it on the game saying that it really damaged my eyes and he was happy to “throw” it away. My mom just can’t stop talking about how she hates my game and was so happy that it’s “gone” for good. Most of the time I just ignore her because she goes on and on about it. It really irritates me! Like, I know my game is gone, stop telling me! And then she gets mad when I talk back to her, it’s just so stupid.

You know? One time when we were in the train the train conductors told us that the reason it was so hot inside is because the train has been on sun the whole day. Then, my mom told me to go into the next train and check if it was cold! Like did she not here what the train conductor just said? When I told her no she started getting super mad at me saying I was lazy and blah blah blah. I told her my legs were sore and she thought I was lying. I can’t believe her! And whenever she gets mad she says stuff that doesn’t even make sense. I’m “sick” because I took my sister’s phone to see if she was doing anything bad? I’m disgusting because I didn’t fold my clothes? It’s just really gets on my nerves and I hope that one day she’ll stop saying stuff like that. Anyway, when I finally got into the doctor’s office they gave me a little vaccine that made my arm really sore for a short period of time. But the woman was super nice and kind. That was what I did.

Hot Chocolate in Queens!

Today my legs are finally not sore (my thighs still hurt a bit) and I feel so much better. My arms don’t feel like burning and it doesn’t take 2 minutes to stand up when sitting. But first, I want to talk about my adventure in New York. My mom wanted my sister to get a haircut and have new shoes for school since there were only three more days, I decided to tag along since I didn’t want to go to the park (my body was still sore then). We took a bus to Journal Square and took a train to Queens. There, my mom wanted to eat some Tibetan Food and talk to one of her friends. I know this because while we were sitting she was chatting with some other Tibetans at the table in front of us. I ordered Beef Momo and “Tiemo” while my sister only had Momo. Now that I think about it, we should have just ordered one plate of 8 because I barely finished all of them and she still had 4 left on her plate before we left. The one habit I hate about my mom is that she always asks random strangers who are happily on their merry way to take a picture for her.

This is because she wants the perfect shot with everyone in it. Don’t get me wrong, there is nothing bad about taking a a picture with your family. But asking strangers to take multiple photos is a bit too much and embarrassing. Once we finished eating the Tibetan Food my mom met another one of her friends at the Express (the lady actually works in the Express which I think is really cool). We walked across a small bridge that had a sign called, “Queen’s Plaza” and ate at the nearest Dunkin Donuts. The two of them were having a conversation before asking if we wanted anything to drink. I asked for a “Hot Chocolate” and my sister had a Apple Juice. Also, just to let you know this was 2 hours after we went to the Tibetan Restaurant. The lady asked for a “Latte” as well, while waiting I charged my phone since it was already dead. My sister and I played a game called “Stack Jump” that I personally enjoyed for the time being.

Finally, when we got the cups the lady made the mistake of taking my hot chocolate instead of the latte and she got kind of mad. Thankfully, with my amazing skills I was able to perceive the situation and stop the madness. My mom insisted that the employee was the person that made the mistake was the one to blame. But I knew better, so I explained to her it was the lady’s fault that she couldn’t tell which one was which. In the end, the worker felt bad and gave us a free latte and Hot Chocolate since I already drank the latte by mistake. Before going home, my sister needed to get her haircut and at first I though she looked a bit weird. But after second thought she didn’t look worse than most of the girls in my school. Getting shoes weren’t an option because it was too late so we just took the path train home.

Productive Day!

I probably had one of the most productive times of life yesterday because I played Soccer and burned a full pound worth of calories. Basically, my told me that I could go outside since he didn’t want us staying in the house the whole day as usual. So I took this chance and immediately packed all supplies before my sister could see me going, because I knew she would ask to join me if she saw. Once outside I walked to Lincoln Park and started thinking about where I wanted to play in the Soccer Field. Eventually, I picked the goal that was closer to the fountain so I wouldn’t have to walk back and forth if I wanted to drink water (once I ran out). For the next three hours I stayed practicing my shooting on the goal with my volleyball (since it was the closest thing I had to a soccer ball). The only problem with the volleyball was that it was a bit lighter so I was able to kick it higher easily.

That worked against and for my favor. The reason it was against me was because sometimes the ball would literally go just above the crossbar and I knew that with a regular ball I would’ve have hit those shots. But then it wasn’t as hard to hit as a regular ball because those can sometimes hurt your feet if you hit it with your toes. Anyway, it was at 5:00 P.M that I was finally feeling hungry and so I walked over to McDonalds, I didn’t want to go home because it was at this time of day that people generally came to play Soccer at the park. At McDonalds, since I had already burned about 1000 calories I didn’t want to eat anything that would go above that. So I had a wrap and soda which equaled to 600 cal.  The wrap had chicken tenders so it would give me protein and it also had lettuce which is supposed to be healthy. Plus, it was either the fountain drink or a vanilla milkshake, and that went above my budget as well as 500 calories for one shake.

Once my Lunch was finished I headed back to the field and like a hoped there were a group of kids at the same goal I was just at. My dad is right about one thing, I am a bit shy so at first I just walked right past them pretending to be on my merry way. Then, I noticed that I used to play with one of those kids. So I hurried over and he had no problem letting me join them. We had a competitive match of penalty kicks and then tried going for a real 3v3. However, they were arguing too much in Arabic so I couldn’t say anything to continue playing or understand them. Before I knew it, they had to go and we barely even kicked the ball around. All the conversation was directed towards who fouled who and how big the goals should be. Thankfully, I was invited to play with a  group of teenagers that were 15 to 18 years old. One of them was even 21! My team won 10-8 and I was extremely happy. Though I didn’t make as much of an impact my legs were very sore and I knew it was because of how hard I played! I walked home satisfied…

Sore Body

I don’t know whether I’ve talked about this yet but my whole body has been sore for almost 4 days now! This is because last week I started to do my exercise routine but the amount of effort I was putting in was too much. Basically, my body couldn’t handle the strain and started to stretch. When I say that I mean it’s called, “D.O.M.S”. Something most people who workout have felt from time to time. This is happens when you try to push past your limit and the muscles in your body aren’t used to it. So if your talking technical, my muscles literally teared up or ripped small holes in my tissue. That’s why my legs (thighs especially) and arms feel very weak and hurt when I walk up and down the stairs. Hopefully, tomorrow they will start to feel better because it’s already been half a week (they video that I watched said to get at the very most 8 hours of sleep but I’ve been getting 9 to 10 hours, but still no effect). If this soreness somehow lasts all the way to my Physical Fitness Exam in school then I am most definitely screwed.

Anyway, I want to talk a little about how I dealt with this soreness yesterday at the park. I walked about half a mile until I reached Lincoln park and was burning in the hot sun. Even though my muscles were just as sore as the day before I was still able to play Soccer then, so why couldn’t I do it now? Well turns out, all of that running from the day before really got on my thighs since my arms were perfect. There was no chance I’d be running and even walking was a pain. On Safari I searched how to deal with thigh soreness it and it showed a couple of exercises that looked like they would work. One of them was to pull your foot behind your butt and keep it like that for about 20 seconds. That way it would relieve some stress from your muscles. Another technique, was to just massage your muscles (squeeze certain areas). Once I reached the goals I tried kicking the ball at least a few inches but as soon as it touched the ball my legs burned.

That was when I made the final decision to just go to McDonalds since I had to use the bathroom. When I reached the fast food place my sister called me and asked where I was. I told her about my bathroom situation and she had no sympathy. Then, I asked if she wanted anything at McDonalds for me to get her. Since fries were already a no (can’t carry them in my bag), we agreed on some chicken nuggets. While walking to the playground there seemed to be like a family of Asian people gathering around and one of the woman were looking at me like she knew me. I awkwardly continued walking and then she started calling what she thought was my name. It was pretty weird but I just ignored her, wonder what would happen when she realizes her mistake. That’s it for today’s post, until next time.

Jack and the Geniuses

I just found out that the Middle School first day is delayed for an extra 4 more days, or on September 10th. This is because the new building still has some minor developments needed before it can allow start children to enter it. They don't have to work so hard on it because the 8th grade are only going to stay one year in it before the High School is going to be built. But I guess the 5th graders who are going to 6th grade need the building as well. Unfortunately it won't have that thing where every student gets a different schedule so they can meet up with different kids every class. But the gym is supposed to be a lot bigger and they should have that buffet option, because if they don't I'm going to get pretty mad. Because there are more days for me and not my sister I can spend time with my mother since shes going to be off during those days. I only have to go to school at Monday so it's also good itme for me to be excercising. Yesterday, I may have overdone my excercising because my arms and legs hurt a lot in the morning, including my glutious maximus. I read an article online syaing excercising too much at such a young age could cause your muscles to burn up but it's the only way to get results.

I've been reading this book called, "Jack and the Geniuses" and it's honestly not that bad. The main character is a boy named, "Jack" and he stays with his "sister" and "brother" most often. The reason I put quotation marks around the sister and brother is because they were all abandoned by their parents and then a man named, "Hank" brought them together. Ava is the name of his "sister" and Matt is his "brother". The two of them and Hank are very smart but Jack is more average. He has a hard time understanding most of the stuff they know and can only catch up by reading stuff ahead of time. In this book he and his "family" are invited by a billionare called, "Ashley" because she apparently wants to show them her powerplant. However, Ashley later reveals she only wanted Hank and needed some kids to help celebrate her son's birthday (since the kid has no friends on a deserted island with his mother). Jack, Ava, and Matt aren't enthusiastic about the idea, mostly because Steven (son) is super annoying but they have no choice. Someone sabatoged Ashley's powerplant and they are suspecting the islanders who don't want Ashley here in the first place. But Jack thinks there's something bigger happening.

Anyway, last night my dad said that my sister and I could wait until our aunt came home so we stayed up until 10:30 P.M. She had just entered the room and brought food for us to eat. I couldn't say no because she got the food for us so I kindly accepted and ate some of the noodles. I now regreat eating those noddles because I gained about 1 and a half pounds just by eating that. And on top of that my aunt brought ice cream, thankfully it was only for her because I couldn't eat anything else. She said that Ashan Karma (my mom's side of the family/uncle) wanted to get me a sweater that was for kids and had a chinese collar. Since Ashan Karma was always so nice to me I accepted the offer not knowing what it would look like. He and his wife (who I also know) asked for my WeChat Id so they could text me the picture. Unfortunately, I didn't have enough time to accept his friend request because I was going to sleep. I'm worried that because I don't get notifacations on WeChat I might not be able to repond when he's messaging me. But that's it for today's post.
