Dear diary
After a bit of thinking I have decided to start working since that’s probably one of the only ways to get in good physical shape so I can pass my Fitness Test in 8th Grade and hopefully lose some weight. Now I now that I’m not overweight compared to a lot of kids in my school but it’s still good to try. Before writing about this today I’ve been saying stuff like, “I’ll definitely work out and get ripped abs” but obviously that hasn’t happened. Yesterday was probably the first time I actually finished my workout. I ran 3 miles and lost about 800 calories before coming back home and doing some sit-ups. But I know for a fact that just doing running and setups isn’t going to do anything. The only way to get results is by watching what I eat more carefully and focusing on all sections of my body. Not just the chest, but the legs (or thighs) and arms. From now on, I will not go to McDonalds unless it’s a dire need and run more often.
Anyway, that was just a quick little speech about what I plan on doing starting from yesterday. Of course my rounded shoulders are a problem but the only way to really fix that is if I go to therapy or the gym since walking around and trying to stand straight just really hurts. Besides, it’s become too much of a habit now and the process of changing it will take time. The main reason I want to fix this unhealthy bending spine of mine is because when I get older it will start to get even worse. Until eventually it will become permanent and I will be in even worse shape then other people who are older than me (right now I’m actually holding my shoulders straight and it hurts a little bit, but I can start to feel that eventually the pain lessens). Yesterday my dad was cleaning the area where this computer is and I took the chance to try this new technique on Youtube.
Although the guy only showed it on a laptop I can still try, so basically your supposed to put a stack of books under the laptop but since I have a computer I just out it under the keyboard. Then you need to have a pillow on your chair right behind your back (not your butt). That way you can relax on the pillow if it hurts too much. Now the idea is that since the laptop or in my case the keyboard is higher you will need to stand straighter in order to type because if your being down you wouldn’t be able to reach it. You see, most people have their laptops on the table but because they are taller than the laptop they need to bend down in order to touch it and feel comfortable. This fights the need to bend down and helps with your round shoulders as well. At least I don’t have scoliosis, but the one thing I’m curious about is how one of my shoulders is higher than the other because that’s what my dad and nurse told me. That’s it for today’s post, until next time!
